Chapter 4 Monalisa got saved by his crush

As Monalisa entered the changing room after her concert class, the lights suddenly flickered out plunging her into darkness.

A menacing voice echoed through the shadows, "You will regret ever stepping foot into this school."

The sound of footsteps closing in around her sent Monalisa's heart racing. Just as she was paralyzed with fear, the lights flickered back on, revealing Sara and her girls looming over her like predators.

Clara lunged forward, her hand raised high, ready to deliver a vicious slap. But before it could land, Sebastian appeared out of nowhere, his grip on Clara's wrist like a vice.

"Try that again, and you'll be sorry," he growled, his voice low and deadly.

"What! Sebastian?" The girls exclaimed in shock. "Now all of you should leave this minute!"

The girls scattered at Sebastian's command, fleeing the room in a flurry.

Monalisa's eyes locked onto Sebastian's, her heart still pounding in her chest. "Why do you keep saving me?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

She couldn't help but notice the chiseled contours of his face, his piercing eyes, and the sensual curve of his lips.

Sebastian's response was a low, husky laugh, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Don't get too comfortable," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I'm just looking out for...certain people."

Monalisa's eyes never left his face, searching for answers. "Then why do you keep saving me if you don't care?" she pressed, her curiosity and frustration boiling over.

Sebastian's smile faltered for a moment, and for a fleeting instant, Monalisa saw a glimmer of something deeper in his eyes. But it was quickly extinguished as he replied

"Don't mistake it for love. I don't believe in it." With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Monalisa feeling both relieved and mystified by the enigmatic Sebastian.

**************************************************

It was 1:30 pm and next lectures starts by 4 pm. Sebastian, who has been feeling sick for days now, decided to go see his doctor before the next class begins.

So, he quickly made his way to the hospital for check up.

Sebastian walked into the hospital with his escorts, the sound of their footsteps echoing through the sterile corridors.

The smell of disinfectant filled his nostrils as they made their way to the doctor's office.

As they passed by the ICU, Sebastian caught a glimpse of Mario, a young boy in his early twenties, sitting beside his mother's bed, clutching her hand.

"Mother, please hold on, Don't leave me. I'll do anything to save you," Mario whispered, his voice trembling with desperation.

The junior doctor's voice cut through the emotional plea. "I'm sorry, but without half the payment,we can't proceed with the operation. Your mother has only 10 hours left."

Mario's eyes welled up with tears as he looked at the doctor pleadingly.

"Doctor, you're saying my mother will...die?" His voice cracked with desperation.

The doctor's expression was unsympathetic. "I'm afraid so. We can't perform the surgery without the payment."

Sebastian's expression remained neutral as he continued to the doctor's office, his escorts following closely behind.

Inside the doctor's office

The senior doctor greeted him warmly. "Good afternoon, Sebastian Delton. Let's take a look at your charts." The doctor and Sebastian discussed his health, and the check-up proceeded without a hitch.

"Your blood pressure is a bit high, Sebastian," the doctor noted. "You should try to manage your stress levels."

Sebastian nodded, his expression calm. "I'll take care of it, Doctor."

Meanwhile, in the ICU,

Mario's desperation turned to hope. "Is there no other way?" he asked the junior doctor, his voice laced with desperation.

The junior doctor shook his head. "I'm afraid not. Without the payment"

A senior doctor intervened. "Actually, we've received payment for Mrs. Angela's surgery. Prepare everything for the operation." Mario's eyes widened in shock. "Who...who paid for it?" he asked, his voice filled with gratitude.

The senior doctor smiled kindly. "I'm not at liberty to disclose that information. But rest assured, your mother's surgery will proceed as planned." Mario's tears of joy mingled with his tears of gratitude.

"Thank you...thank you..." he whispered again, thinking of the unknown benefactor who had saved his mother's life.

As the hours passed, Mario waited anxiously for news about his mother's surgery.

He paced back and forth in the waiting room, his mind racing with thoughts of his mother's condition.

The beeping of machines and the soft murmur of conversations created a sense of calm, but Mario's anxiety remained high.

"How much longer?" Mario asked the nurse, his voice laced with impatience.

"The doctor will come out and update you soon," she replied, smiling sympathetically.

Finally, the doctor emerged with a smile. "The surgery was a success. Your mother is in recovery."

Mario's eyes welled up with tears as he hugged the doctor. "Thank you, Doctor. Thank you so much."

The doctor patted Mario's back. "You're welcome, son. Your mother is in good hands now." Mario rushed to the recovery room, eager to see his mother.

"Mother, you're going to be okay," Mario whispered, holding her hand. "I'm so glad you're going to be alright." His mother's eyes fluttered open, and she smiled weakly. "Mario...thank you," she said in a very low tone.

Mario's eyes welled up with tears as he looked at his mother. "I didn't do anything, Mother. Someone paid for your surgery. We're just grateful."

His mother's eyes closed, and she drifted off to sleep.

As Mario sat beside his mother's bed, he couldn't help but think about the mysterious benefactor.

"Who could it be? A friend? A family member? Or a stranger with a kind heart? "

The questions swirled in his mind, but he knew one thing for sure is that his mother's life had been saved, and that was all that mattered.

Sebastian finished his check-up and stood up to leave. "Thank you, Doctor. I'm good to go." The doctor nodded. "Take care, Sir." Sebastian walked out of the hospital as his escorts followed him up.

The cool breeze hitting him as he stepped outside.

"Let's get going," Sebastian said to his driver. "I have lectures to attend." The driver nodded and started the car.

As they drove away, Sebastian's expression remained calm, but his mind was elsewhere.
