Chapter 4 THE CONTRACT

ANDREA PETER'S POV

I sent her away and sighed in relief.

I had to speak to her rudely and insult the crap out of her. I can't let this stupid feeling get out of hand.

I took my bath and relaxed in the sitting room. I'm taking a day off today, and I've already called my PA to inform him.

"Anndreeeaa.." Someone shouted, and I turned around in utter shock to behold my Dad, walking in with Anna Richard.

What was he doing here? And with her?

I could feel trouble looming in the air. He must be up to something, and it wasn't something good.

"Good morning Dad, what do I owe this early visit?" I asked as he came in and made himself comfortable.

Anna went around the sitting room, checking out everything she could see and smiling happily.

Stupid bitch!

I turned to my Dad, expecting a response from him.

"You are getting married in 2 weeks, Andrea," my Dad said I was shocked.

Marriage? How and when?

"And to who if I may ask?" I asked eyeing Anna as she kept giggling happily.

Anna was the first daughter of the Mory Empire. The second richest family after mine. She has always been a wayward and proud brat, partying around and wasting her fathers wealth.

She wasn't business minded and had nothing to do. Even if I didn't marry for love, I wouldn't marry such an uncultured being.

"You are getting married to Anna, everything has been finalised, and all you have to do is to get married to her. This is the best I can do for you since you have refused to get a wife for yourself," He said in all seriousness, sitting up and gazing intently at me.

"Yeah, ba..by! We're getting mar..ried, it's gonna go down soon, I'm gonna f*cking paint this country red! F*ck them bitches, I got you!" She screeched like a mad woman and I felt so disgusted.

Anna was wearing a black short skirt and pink crop top, with multiple jewelleries all over her body. She had curly blond hair and was average in height.

It was clear she had undergone multiple surgeries to enhance her looks, but she looked so ugly to me. The mere thought of me getting married to someone like her was already driving me crazy.

"Shut the f*ck up!" I shouted at her, totally pissed off.

"I'm not getting married to her, Dad," I said, and my dad wasn't having it.

"Ooh.. you wi..lll get married to her boy, this is going to solidify our business deal with Mory Empire, and that's final," He said, and I knew I had to think of something fast or I would really have no choice but to get married to her.

"I have a fiancee, Dad, and we are in love with each other, I can't leave her to get married to this..." I said, looking disdainfully at Anna.

Anna's eyes went wide in shock. I could sense her pain and disappointment.

"Wooow.. that's good news. I have always prioritised your happiness over everything. Then it's settled. Get her, introduce her to me, and get married next week." He said I could feel my heart racing in fear.

"Noo.. Popsi, I love Andrea a lo..t, please let me marry him, pleaseee." Anna begged, tugging at my dad's shirt.

"Fine Dad, I will do what you've said." I said in order to send them out and begin to figure out what to do.

Get married to her? Who? I just said that to save myself, and now I'm in even bigger trouble.

"If you don't introduce her to me and get married to her as planned, you will go ahead with the wedding plans with Anna." He said and left with her. I stood still for a moment before letting out a yelp.

This was not good. I didn't know what to do. I had just made a promise I had no idea how to fulfil.

I sat for a moment, thinking about what to do next.

A contract marriage!

That was it. I could get into a contract marriage with someone with clear rules and pay the lady.

Who would I use?

No lady came to mind. I could choose someone to get into a contract married with, but what if they cling unto me and refuse the divorce? That would be messed up, and it wouldn't go down well with my Dad.

I needed someone who couldn't do much to save themselves and could be easily threatened.

Then I thought of her! The lady who I brought home yesterday. She couldn't do anything to escape my grasp, and she seemed really scared of me this morning. That was it. She would be perfect for this job.

I picked up my phone and placed a call to my personal assistant, Harry.

"I need you to get the full details and current location of someone. The name is Lola Erikson, and be fast about that." I said and dropped the call before he could say anything.

Harry called me back in about 30 minutes with the full details, and I asked him to come over to my house with two bodyguards.

It was time for serious business.

When they got to my house, we left for Lola's workplace, which was her current location.

'What was she doing at a mechanic workshop? Why would she work there?' I couldn't help but think, as I had never seen a lady doing such a job. No wonder she offered to help me fix my car. She wasn't trying to get in my bed, but she could have actually helped!

We were about to drive into the workshop when my driver hit a lady who was running recklessly into the road.

'Why would anyone run into the road without looking carefully?' I thought feeling pissed off about the delay.

Harry went down and ran up to me moments later, looking so scared.

"Sir... I'm really sorry," He said, almost crying.

'Sorry? Was this about the accident? He could take care of it and make sure the lady was okay. So why would he be scared?' I just couldn't understand what this was all about.

"The lady that got hit... It's Lola, Lola Erikson," he said, and my eyes went wide in surprise. I just couldn't believe it.

Lola Erikson!

The lady I had to sign a contract with had just gotten hit, and by my car?

The Hospital

We rushed her to the hospital, and she was taken into a VIP ward, where she was currently being attended to.

I sat down in a private room, waiting for feedback on her condition.

This was totally crazy. Why would this be happening now? There was no time for this.

I paced around for more than an hour, unable to contain myself. Harry tried calming me down while the bodyguards stood outside the door, but I couldn't be calm.

That damn driver! I was going to k*ll him and deal with every member of his family.

I wouldn't be in this mess if not for him.

The doctors came in some moments later and broke the news.

"She is in stable condition now, but she's still unconscious. We just have to wait and pray she comes around." The lead doctor said, and I felt even more angry.

Wait! I didn't have such time, and I didn't want to make the headlines for killing anyone.

"Make sure she gets the best treatment there is to offer," I said, and they nodded in affirmation.

Harry led me into her ward, and I sat down on the couch. My head was spiralling with all forms of emotions. I couldn't figure out what step to take next.

For the first time in a long time, I was stuck at a point, unable to make a decision on what to do next.

Hours Later

I sat up slowly as I could hear the persistent beeping of a machine. I had fallen asleep on the couch, and a machine kept beeping.

I looked up at the direction it was coming from and was shocked to see a straight line showing on Lola Erikson's monitor. The doctors and nurses came rushing in with great speed.

I didn't understand what was happening. The line on the monitor showed no sign of life.

Was she dead?
