Chapter 2 Deception and Betrayal

Lucia POV

I turned around and made sure my expression was emotionless so they wouldn't use it against me in any way. "And why do you care? Why are you putting into what does not involve you? If I act lazy, it is my own act, not yours. And besides, you have Presley to carry on your head like a queen. Continue," I said to them and boldly walked away.

Even though deep within me, I felt so heartbroken and shattered. I was already used to this kind of words. But despite that, anytime they mocked me or my father belittled me, I couldn't help but feel drained. I don't know what was wrong with me, but I always felt like I never belonged to this park. Nothing. They always pushed me away, and despite all my efforts, it still never changed their thoughts about me.

That was why I decided not to put in so much effort. They would never get to appreciate me. Meanwhile, the next day, the whole palace was in opera as everyone was getting everywhere ready. After questioning one of the maids, did I realize that the Alpha had gotten to the park earlier than expected and he was already close to the palace. I was given a special dress to put on. Despite the fact that it was not as good as that of Presley, I still liked it anyway.

We were soon arranged in front of the palace gate. As the cars drove in slowly, the Alpha came out of his car and for the first time in a long time, I felt a bit of positivity. Something about him mesmerized me and drew me closer to him. It felt like we were connected in a way. I shook my head sideways and refused to believe something like that.

But when he turned around, I felt even more amazed. He was different. He had this unique figure, unique physical features that I could not explain. He looked too good to even be an Alpha. It felt like all his beauty and perfect features were all in vain. I guess he was going to pick Presley. Just as expected, my father wasted no time as he rushed towards him and extended his hand for a handshake.

"Welcome to my park, Alpha Delano of Obsidian Moon Park," he said to him as Alpha Delano smiled back and returned the handshake. He felt the same pull that I was feeling as he searched with his eyes, and it fell directly on mine. With a smile on his face, he let go of my father's handshake and slowly walked towards me, stretching his hands out for a shake. Presley was so stunned, and I was even more surprised, same as my father as I returned it back.

"What is this supposed to mean?"

Author's POV

Staring at Lucia, Delano couldn't help but be so mesmerized by her beauty. She looked very much different from her sister. Or was it his wolf that was making him think so? He thought to himself as he continuously shook her hand. But Presley's father did not want it to be that way. He hurriedly intervened and separated their hands from each other as Presley rushed to also show her beauty. Since they were identical twins, they looked so alike. But Delano's gaze was still fixed on Lucia, who looked down, feeling so shy and at the same time happy that for the first time someone at least noticed her.

Meanwhile, Presley escorted Delano into the palace as they prepared a grand dinner for him, which he enjoyed. But he continuously searched around for Lucia and still could not find her. He turned to the Alpha and slowly walked towards him as he whispered in his ear, "Can I go out and take a stroll with my guards? I will be back soon," he said without wasting time. Magmus allowed him to go because he needed to have a discussion with Presley. A very important discussion. Delano accepted and stepped out with his guards in search of Lucia, who was still in her room going through her phone as she was reading a novel and was very engrossed in it.

Since that was the only thing she did, she purposely and intentionally did not attend the dining celebration because she knew that she would not gain anything from it. Even though Delano had an interest in her, it still would not change anything because her father would still continue to insult her and embarrass her. Instead of her to bear such embarrassment, she preferred to stay inside and patiently wait for the day to go by.

Meanwhile, Magmus moved closer to Presley as he whispered to her, "We have to do something. Delano seems interested in your sister," Magmus said as Presley smiled. She felt so happy that her father was going to support her and wanted her to be the one for Delano because she was already madly in love with him, and she was already thinking of a plan or a way to get Delano to notice her and even fall in love with her.

Unbeknownst to the both of them that Delano and Lucia were mates. "What are we going to do, Father? We need to find a way. We don't want Lucia to disgrace us. You know that if he should pick Lucia, he would definitely bring her back, claiming that he does not want someone as weak and lazy as she is," Presley said to her father, who smiled.

"Of course. We have to do something urgent. We have to trick him. Anything. Think of a plan and let me know about it quickly," he muttered before returning to his seat. As he attended to the people who asked questions, Presley could not help but run a hand through her hair as she thought of a plan. There was no possible plan she could use because she was not close to Delano in any way. She decided to use a quick opportunity and get closer to him.

She stood up from her seat and signaled for her dad that she was stepping out, which he allowed her to do. She quickly rushed out of the dining room in search of Delano. Meanwhile, Delano was still searching for Lucia with all his might. Lucia was already tired as she stepped out of her room, and just then, Lucia walked out towards the garden.

Just then Delano was also walking into the garden as he bumped into Lucia, who was spinning around in excitement. She looked at him shyly and bowed to him. "Alpha?" she muttered. He slowly raised her head up with her chin.

"You don't have to bow to me. You are already someone I see as good," he said to her as she smiled.

"I am so sorry I could not attend your dining celebration. I just got busy doing some personal things," she said to him, trying her best to act gently. She thought to herself, maybe if she acted so much like Presley, she would get a chance with Delano. She hoped. He smiled at her and placed his hand on her shoulder.

As he brought her close to him with her waist, she felt the intensity at that moment. As they locked gazes together, they felt the connection more than anything. It felt like they had known each other for a while. And that was when Lucia realized something. She was clearly connected to Delano. It felt like they had a kind of bond that could not be easily broken at all. She looked at him for a while, but before Delano could say anything, they were interrupted by Presley, who stumbled into the garden.

This wasn't going to end well.
