Chapter 4 The Letter & Ambush

Alpha Damian fist connected angrily with the bags he was training with. Sweat dripped down his body and adrenaline increased more as his fist hit the punching bag. "Alpha Damian." A voice called, but he did not look away from what he was hitting. He did not care at all.

He continued hitting the bag with a focus of one hundred percent till an envelope peeked in front of him. "You have a message from the Crimson pack's Beta, your highness." Damien's Beta said and he stopped. "It is confidential, and it is very important, as it seems."

"Did they not cancel the annual sacrificial festival?" He mumbled coldly as he tore the envelope open and read the contents of the letter in the envelope. He tossed it straight at his Beta and continued with what he was doing. "He should deal with the Alpha's death on his own. Besides, they all have the character of doing things without consulting others."

"But your highness, you had a deal with the late Alpha, and it would be very rude not to do as you have already promised. And besides, he would not just let them sacrifice his only daughter and no one would inherit the throne." His Beta reminded him. He knew he was right, and he did not want to care, but at the same time he still wanted to care. "You have to at least help."

"I do not want to have anything to do with that daughter of his. She is the reason he is dead in the first place and I have to be in this position. I did not beg for anything from his pack, besides, I do as it pleases me." Alpha Damien replied, and his Beta nodded before turning to leave. "Prepare the carriages to leave by tomorrow."

"Yes sir." He bowed and walked out of the room as the Alpha continued with what he was doing. Why on earth would that man try to get rid of a sacrifice even though he knew the consequences, and I would never be seen dead with that daughter of his. All these emotions brought us here in the first place. That is why I hate getting emotionally attached to anyone. I am an Alpha, it can be used against me in any place and at any time and I have no choice but to do as they say. Damien thought to himself.

He walked out of the bathroom and dressed up to go out on the journey to the Crimson pack. It was just outside his pack, but it took two days to get there. "According to the letter, the Alpha princess will be getting married to Alpha Zoran in two days exactly."

"Why did they accept the marriage in the first place if he knew he would have made the decision?" His beta rolled his eyes and he showed him when the letter came in.

"You ignored it till today." His Beta pointed out, while Damien rolled his eyes as the carriage rode out of the pack house as fast as it could.

"I want to be in that pack before the end of tomorrow." He ordered, and his beta nodded before the carriage sped off.

As soon as they got to the forest linking the two packs together, Damien could tell something was not right at all. Of course, it would not be right because everyone wanted to attack the Crimson pack now that they are vulnerable and the only way they could get sneaky access into the pack was through this forest.

"Stop the carriage." Alpha Damian ordered, and before getting out of the carriage, he looked around as he cracked his knuckles. "You all know you are messing with the wrong pack, right?" He said, leaning against the carriage, and he could see the shadows coming out of the darkness.

The leader of the men stepped out, looking straight at Alpha Damien. "Do not get in our way, Alpha Damien. I know pretty well that you do not want to get involved with a pack that does not intrigue you." He said, and Damien smirked gently, looking at him from head to toe.

"What if I told you this pack interests me, and I am very interested in it to the point that I will be joining it with my pack." Damien raised his eyebrows and the leader of the attackers looked stunned but acted otherwise. "You dare to defy my orders when I give you one? I see most of you grew wings recently, and I will live while breaking them."

He growled as he grabbed him by the collar, sending him a lot of meters backwards. "Your highness, we do not have our men with us now, it would be pointless to fight against a whole army." Damien Beta said through their mind link, but he did not care. They asked for it, and they would get what they asked for.

"Attack him." The leader yelled, and the men charged towards the Alpha in their wolf form. He shifted and ran into their midst. Originally, there were more than he thought there were, but there is a reason. He is the Alpha of his pack and the most feared one that ever lived.

By the time he was done dealing with them, his whole body was filled with blood and Alan, his Beta, was staring at him from the carriage with disbelief in his eyes. "They knew who they were messing with, and they still dared. I do not see why I should explain myself to anyone."

"The marriage is starting in less than an hour, your highness. If he mates with her before our arrival, you do not have any right to claim the pack anymore." Alan said as Damien washed off the blood all over his body in the nearby creek.

"We will be there before they meet for the marriage. And if they have not, I will rip him apart myself. It does not count." He replied.

"But that will cause war between all the packs, your highness." He said, and a deadly smirk appeared on Damian's lips.

"Then let them all die."
