Chapter 5 Rex wants her, she is mine

The way he said that was so creepy. It was as if I weren't there.

"I can..."

"Get rid of Rex, you know I can't do it myself", Derek snapped impatiently, desperately, "If you want to get rid of someone, get rid of Rex".

"You know I can't do that either", Seth raised his brows.

He walked to the door, enraged.

"What's happening? Derek! What is wrong with you?" Seth yelled.

He pointed at me and glared at Derek.

For a while, they were silent with their gaze locked as if they were having the rest of the conversation in their minds.

It was like they noticed how awkward their silence felt, so they began to talk again.

"You have the right as the alpha to do things! What does Rex want with her? Two of your men are dead! They are dead, and all you could do is watch!?"

All that kept ringing in my head were two dead men.

"Two, Derek! And with Rex, more would die, and you wouldn't do anything about it!!! Or, are you acting weak?"

"Do not dare talk to me like that, Seth", Derek suddenly warned, "Friend or not, I am the alpha! I am your Alpha.

He walked away from Seth towards me. He yanked my upper arm and dragged me to Seth. It was as if he were presenting me to Seth. Like a gift.

"Rex wants her"

"Why?" Seth asked impatiently, but Derek didn't reply.

I looked at him.

Since I was in the middle, I would take turns to look at each one of them whenever they made any sound.

"Rex wants her, but I can't give her to him because he might not want us to share her," Derek said.

He sounded pained.

I think it was because he paid for me or something.

"Why? I don't get it." Seth asked again. This time, he sounded impatient "Why, Alpha Derek, why?"

Derek walked to the wall and punched it. He walked to the other side of the room and began to throw things.

Although I felt like he would soon get to throw me, too, he didn't.

He looked like he was in pain, and I felt slightly bad for him.

It hurt me to see him sad. Not sincerely.

"I can't give her to Rex because she is my mate, and she is also Rex's mate!" Derek yelled, "Just as the witch said years back! She is ours!!!"

Lost, I shivered when I finally seemed to understand this madness.

Seth gasped. "The curse!" He said.

He quickly moved away from me and walked to Derek.

He tried to hug him, but Derek pushed him off each time.

"Yes, you get it, buddy. The freaking curse, Seth," Derek yelled, "She is the curse!!! And will I have to deal with Rex again? Why?"

What the heck?

I stared at both of them, confused and scared.

"Am I cursed?" I asked, but there was no reply.

Derek just walked away, out of the room, leaving me with Seth.

"Follow me, let's get you checked up and fed", Seth said.

I didn't say anything, I just followed him immediately.

I have seen enough already, and I need to look outside to escape. A warm bath and better clothes won't be bad.

"Try to ignore Rex as hard as possible, or Derek will do something crazy," Seth whispered as soon as we stepped out the door.

I did as I was told and followed like a sheep ready for slaughter. Soon, we got to a different room and, as the way it was, I assumed it would be my room. Clean dress and stuff for me.

I was told to wait for the doctor, which I did.

When the 'human' doctor came around, I felt I should tell the woman to help me, but I didn't, not when Seth was in the room the whole time and had his gaze on us.

The doctor said I was malnourished and needed attention. Really?!

I was pissed about how they kept talking if I wasn't in the room, but I dared not say a word.

As soon as the doctor left, I glared at Seth, who smiled at me and looked towards the door.

"Derek had told me that you might want to ask for help, and I should kill the human if you did. Good choice, you saved her," he said with a sadistic smile.

I gulped.

Firstly, I haven't survived the fact that werewolves are real, but kill?! Why do these people act like life isn't a thing?

My expression remained blank as I thought about something to say.

I was tired.

Hunger.

Sleepy.

And confused.

I need clarification.

"I was kidding", Seth said and burst into laughter. Humourless one got that matter.

For the next few minutes, I struggled to get what was funny and found none.

"You don't like my sense of humour?" Seth suddenly asked.

It was as if he were reading my mind. Was that also a thing for werewolves?

Nah! Who was I kidding when my expression was plastered on my face?

"You know what?" Seth suggested.

He still waited for a few seconds as if he were waiting for a response from me. He turned his head in that direction, waiting for anything, something, but I remained silent.

"Humans!" He groaned as he walked to the door.

He yanked it open and turned back at me.

"I clearly can't entertain you now, so..." He shrugged "Help yourself to bathe. Your meal is coming, and I will make sure to tell Derek about it".

Alone, I sat on the floor and began to cry.

Something is wrong with m,e and I don't know how to help myself!

I am so useless.
