Chapter 2 Getting to fight

Chapter 2

Getting to Fight

Martin Pamella had spent the entire night out in the rain at the Hibiscus imperial, first standing, then squatting, and later, to avoid putting pressure on the less than three-month-old child in her belly, she chose to kneel.

The searing pain in her knees, not only drained all her strength but also crushed her dignity and obstinacy underfoot.

As long as Anabella is willing to believe, to believe that she's innocent, that she didn't harm Nina woods, it was worth kneeling for as long as it took.

"Miss Katie, please leave at once." The person trying to drive her away was the doorman.

"I want to see Anabella." She squinted her eyes, wiping a liquid from her face, not knowing whether it was the rain or tears.

"Sir will not see you. You dare to show up at the Bailey residence after doing such a thing, truly shameless."

At this time, Kyle also came out, shot her a disdainful glance, and walked over to drag her out, "Miss Katie, don't force me to be rude. If Sir says he won't see you, then he certainly won't see you."

Martin Pamella struggled, "No, I have to see him, Nina woods was not hit by me. That night, I don't know what happened, I fainted in the bar, I have no idea how my car could be driven away by someone else. I had planned to leave for France the next day, with all my luggage already packed. Mendel, go tell Casey, I can't accept his false accusation."

" Nina woods was not hit by me."

" Even if I , Martin Pamella, die, I would never do anything to harm my friend!"

"Mendel, don't you believe me either?"

Regardless of how she flailed and fought, a girl's strength can't compare with a tall, burly man like Kyle, and she was quickly dragged out by him, dumped onto a large road far away from the manor.

"Miss Nina woods is so kind and appealing, treating you as her best friend and sister. Miss Katie, you harmed Miss Nina woods and the child in her belly, aren't you afraid that they'll come looking for you in the middle of the night?"

Before he left, Kyle shook his head, his face marked with deep revulsion, leaving her with only these words.

Martin Pamella's eyes welled up with tears, and she opened her mouth to explain, but Kyle had already walked away.

"What will it take to make you believe me?"

Having expended all her strength, Martin Pamella struggled to stand and began to slowly tread back. She placed her hands on her lower abdomen, for the sake of her child, she must persevere.

The entrance to the Martin residence remained firmly closed, ignoring Martin Pamella's raspy cries for what felt like an eternity.

After a while, a young girl dressed in a white lace dress came out slowly. She bore some resemblance to Martin Pamella, but the indifference in her eyes gave her a sinister air.

"Roseline, please open the door. I feel sick...so cold...please," Martin Pamella pleaded, soaked from being in the rain all day. It was the winter season, and all she wore was a sweater. After absorbing the rainwater, it had become heavy and burdensome. If it weren't for her strong will, she would've passed out long ago.

Martin Roseline walked to the gates, snickering coldly, "You have the audacity to come back. You realize the mess you've made this time?"

"What did you say?" Martin Pamella bit her lip, "Open the door!"

"Oh my, you're still fierce. Well, remember you're a suspect now, not the overbearing Miss Pamella of the past," Martin Roseline retorted, her innocent face bearing an ostentatious viciousness, "Leave. Our parents won't see you. They're holding a press conference to disown you. From now on, you have no connection with the Bailey family."

"I don't believe it. I want to see dad, bring him out!" Martin Pamella refused to believe, even if the Bailey family didn't have as high a status as the Bailey family in America, could it be that they're so scared just because of Anabella?

Impossible!

She shook her head vehemently. It was impossible to believe. Her parents cherished her as their precious jewel, saying she was the pride of the Bailey family. They would pluck the stars and moon from the sky for her. They loved her so much, how could they abandon her?

Even if Anabella used some means to intimidate them, the Bailey family would never abandon her!

Martin Pamella's eyes suddenly lit up, clutching the fence tightly, she yelled towards the mansion, "I am Pamella! Dad, mom, it's me, Pamella. Open the door..."

Even though her throat became hoarse from yelling, there was still no response from the mansion.

Her vibrant eyes gradually lost their shine, eventually becoming dull and lifeless.

Inside the villa, Dakota nervously paced back and forth by the front door, her handkerchief tightly clutched in her hands. Anxiety lined her mature, graceful face as she alternated between shooting nervous glances at her husband, Thomas, sitting in the living room, and looking out the villa door.

"Honey, do you think we should open the door -" Her words were cut off by Thomas's sharp interruption.

"Have you forgotten the message Charlotte just sent over? If we dare to let that wretched girl in, he has ways to drive the Bailey family into bankruptcy!" His eyes were icy, and an aura of violence radiated from him. "Pamella is acting foolishly! Risking murder for a man? If she steps inside the Bailey family's gate, aren't you afraid she'll bring her sins in and bring disaster upon us?"

As Dakota wiped her tears, she protested, "But... she is, after all, a child of the Bailey family..." who had been their pampered little princess for many years.

Thomas stood up, swept a glance outside, shook his head, and sighed, "What can we do? I can't let the legacy of the Bailey family, passed down over generations, to be ruined by her. The means of Charlotte, you understand that. The Bailey family has had dealings with the underworld in the past, and they're well-connected now. Compared to them, the Bailey family is on the decline..."

If he could, would he not wish to save his own daughter?

Yet, Pamella had done such a foolish thing and even got caught, evidence dispatched to the police station. The reputation the Bailey family had built up over so many years had been ruined because of her.

"Speaking of which, the blame lies on you for spoiling her from a young age. A mother's indulgence makes a bad child. Look at the great daughter you have raised, doing nothing but shameful, disgraceful things." Thomas hardened his heart, glared at his wife, and shouted in anger.

Dakota dared not refute him. She bit her lower lip––as a person of timid character, she dare not argue with her husband.

"But, what about Pamella..."

"People have to take responsibility for their mistakes. Let her spend a few years at the police station...As for announcing our disownment publicly..." Thomas was somewhat hesitant.

Dakota gripped her husband's wrist tightly, tears rolling down her face, "That's impossible, Pamella is a girl from our Bailey family. No matter what, we can't cast her out. I agree with you that she's wrong and should go to jail. But if we kick her out, it would be like tearing away a piece of my own heart, how could you bear it?"

"What if I can't bear it? The evidence is undeniable, and she's still not admitting her mistakes even now. Shuyuan, if you keep indulging her like this, the Bailey family will be ruined because of you two."

Thomas's demeanor was severe, his glare stinging, "I warn you, the Bailey family's assets cannot go downhill. Even if Pamella goes in, we still have Roseline. Pamella was self-willed and arrogant from a young age, while Roseline is gentle, obedient, and filial. She will take good care of you in the future."

But Dakota kept shaking her head, her tears flowing endlessly.

"Besides, Pamella has never been close to us, she's Sophie child, closer to the Martin surname. Even without her, our family would still be okay." He tried to console his wife.

"In the end, aren't you just coveting the massive––"

"Shut up!" Thomas cut off his wife, his eyes bloodshot and full of anger. "I, Thomas, am still the head of the Bailey family, when did it become your turn to criticize me!"
