Chapter 2 A Distressing Welcome

Lindsey's POV

I frowned as my breath was rapid while I twisted my lips. I detest everything about him.

"Let me...go...Damian." I protested, barely recognizing my voice as I felt my nipples rising, which made me cringe.

He was taking my breath away, touching my sensitive parts.

"I want you, Lindsey...argh...that body of yours, I fucking miss it."

"Fuck, man, she's your sister," Adrian's voice comes in, with a mocking tone. I heard his footsteps drawing closer to us.

He was the first, and his voice only made me weary. He'd always support him.

Damian groaned softly as he released me and kissed me on the forehead.

I clutch my arms around my chest, panting heavily.

Sweat had beaded my face as Damian stepped away from me and walked up to where Adrian stood.

Adrian waved dismissively at me; his killer smile was depressing, as it reminded me of the day I ran away.

"Don't tell me you haven't gotten over her," he pressed on, and I felt disgusted as Damian took a glimpse at me and shook his head.

I tried not to shed a tear in their presence, and while I intended to make a move, Damian smacked my butt.

"Damian!" I roared, fussing at him to back off.

It boils my blood as his touch sends grief in my heart. My life has always been miserable with these two.

Damian teases me and touches my breast just to piss me off. I wish I wasn't weak and could fight.

All Adrian did was scoff unbelievably. He never stops Damian from his heinous act. The skin on my face tightened as I wore a sore expression.

"The old man's waiting," Adrian reminded, dragging him along to the dining room where everyone gets to meet.

However, Damian was still stealing peeks at me while his mouth snickered. I was frightened, like the world had ended.

I licked my lower lips subconsciously and shut my eyes, agonized that I would let Damian touch me.

If I became the heiress, these two men would be goners.

I growled and paced to the dining table.

This was meant to welcome me. There was no chance for me to rest my head.

The atmosphere was traumatizing; nothing changed, and my heart bled.

The table was served with different delicacies, and I got to sit opposite Damian, who kept staring at me.

It felt as though his life depended on it. I couldn't imagine the dirty thoughts lingering in his mind.

With that stare, he got me distracted, and sadness encroached on me.

I won't be spending the night here, never, not with Damian around.

My father had a bright face as he sat upright, his hand adjusting his kimono properly.

He was obsessed with Japanese outfits.

"The prodigal daughter finally returns," he dryly declares in a sarcastic tone.

I clenched my fist under the table and exhaled deeply.

His first statement was disturbing. He had no smile, and only Damian tossed it to me.

That was his way of welcoming me.

It left me wondering if Dad had ever asked of me since that day. He didn't even ask how I was faring and only asked:

"Why did you come back?"

He was straightforward, and his words hurt me. If only he'd just embraced me, but that would step on his ego.

I could see Damian and Adrian were curious too, as their probing eyes lowered at my lips.

I couldn't even eat a meal, as I was weary.

Their gazes were torturing, and I decided to give a reply. Having a family dinner makes me uncomfortable.

It felt as though this mansion would crumble on me, judging from the awkward silence and thrilling aura.

My eyes watched Damian pour himself a fruit juice, which I knew contained drugs. He was a junkie working on himself or just trying to deceive Dad.

Why was Damian occupying my head?

"I'm back to take the heirship from you," I proclaimed with a daring glare at Damian.

Damian suddenly poured his drink back as he almost choked. Adrian's cutlery slips off his hand.

They both threw a fierce gaze at me. That was a bold step declaring my intention.

Dad didn't say a word as he was busy slicing his steak. He'd find that challenging.

"The offer is off, Lindsey," he snapped, emotionless and taking a quick glance at me. His cold voice wasn't appealing.

He hadn't touched a meal either, and all he did was slice steaks and observe everyone in the dining room.

I folded my fist and swallowed hard, fighting back the tears in my eyes.

The mixed emotions were intensifying, but I've got to fight through and wear the crown.

From the looks of it, he hadn't declared his heir ever since I left him. I still have chances.

I knew he didn't trust these two after their previous mistakes of making his companies bankrupt.

"But I'm back now, to reclaim it," I pointed out with rage in my tone as the creepy eyes Damian posed at me twisted my stomach.

Dad only let out a deep sigh, as he was yet to give me a reply.

Perhaps I should have just accepted the offer the first time and not listened to the threatening message from Adrian.

"It's best you leave if you're here for the ownership," Adrian began in a low tone that seemed as though he was threatening me, as always.

"A girl can never handle a legacy."

Their words were loud and harsh, but nevertheless, I didn't want them to break me down.

Life was too miserable for me to fall weak again, but with Damian around, I was feeble.

I twisted my lips and sniffed as I folded my hand into claws.

Their harsh words made me look plainly at the dining table. I fell under depression, and just not to pass out, I closed my ears to voices.

"That's enough!" Dad ordered, thudding his hand on the table, and there was silence, but I purposely took a fork and clanked it on the ceramic plate in front of me.

He cleared his throat, snubbing the noise I created.

"If I get to see your husband, then I might consider."
