Lillian's eyes snapped open and she observed the new additions to the room. It was two men, one of them was different, he was just totally different and somehow, Lillian knew he held power over everyone in the room.
And even in her chaos-filled heart, she was still able to see how similar the powerful man was to Leo, the buzz-cut man.
"Brother."Leo and Clayton said at the same time but the man just acknowledged them with a nod.
"You came late to the party.'" Leo commented with a smirk, gesturing to the dead couple, who's blood was still flowing out of their head.
Clayton withdrew his weapon, standing up straight and moved away from Lillian. The man that accompanied the powerful man moved towards Lillian, crouched down and checked Sage's pulse.
"Still alive." The man said to the powerful man.
Lillian's eyes got wider. That's not possible, she had checked! She went to check his pulse again and indeed it was there, the man wasn't lying. She let out a huge sigh of relief which was interrupted when some men starts prying her brother away from her, while she resisted holding unto him tightly.
"What about her?" She had Clayton ask.
"Leave her." The powerful man responded.
"What?!" Clayton exclaimed in disbelief.
"Give it a rest, Clay." Leo said with a hand on Clayton's shoulder.
Lillian was no match for the men as Sage was finally pried away from her hands. Lillian knew she wouldn't be able to fight off the men to release her brother so she did another thing. The powerful man was just a few feet from her so she ran very quickly, collapsed on her knees and held his right leg by the knee.
"Please let my brother go. You've taken my parents away from me, please let my brother go." She cried out with pleading eyes.
"I'll do anything. Please let my brother go. Please plea-" Her sentence was cut off when her fingers were forcefully pried away from the powerful man by one of the men.
The powerful man just looked at her for not more than a second before facing Leo. "Call the cops." He said, then turned around and walked out of the house, with Llilian's brother being dragged behind him by two men.
Clayton crouched down in front of her.
"The cops will be here in a few minutes. Later on, you will be asked to sketch the faces you saw, tell them you couldn't see because they are all wearing masks. And if you ever have the urge to snitch, remember your brother's with us. The death scare you experienced a few minutes ago, we could turn it into reality. Do we have an understanding?" He asked her.
Lillian shook her head vigorously in affirmation. "Please don't hurt him, I'll do anything you ask."
"Good."
"Clear out!" Clayton ordered and everyone immediately marched out while two men stayed behind to check on the unconscious man whose head Sage had bashed in a wall, they ended up dragging the man out.
Clayton looked at Lillian once more before finally making his exit.
Lillian just watched as they all left her alone. Her eyes moved to her parents and she almost got an heart attack as she stared at her father's open eyes which seems to be staring back at her.
There was absolute silence and the blood added to the horribleness of the scene. But they were her parents, there should be nothing to be scared off. She crawled towards them and with shaky hands, she closed her father's eyes.
She caressed her mother's lifeless face. She took each of their hands in each of hers and just sat still staring at them, her clothes soaking in their blood. Tears were dropping from her face but she wasn't making a sound, she was too weak to do that.
Few minutes later, the cops arrived at the scene and they knew they were already late. Most pitied the girl, who sat in between her parents, looking just as lifeless as they are.
"Miss." One of them approached her gently, speaking to her.
But little did they know, Lillian wasn't even conscious of her surroundings anymore. Whatever they were saying, she doesn't hear. She barely even noticed their presence.
What would happen from here? Where would she go from here? What would life be like on her own? Would she be able to survive and get over all this? Would she ever be happy again?
There was no one to answer all these questions for Lillian. She has never felt so alone, so abandoned, so hurt, so sad, so pained.
So empty.
Who knew that everything could be taken away from her in just a matter of minutes, it was unimaginable. A tear in her heart, and it was bleeding badly. Would it ever heal and became a scar?
They were finally able to get Lillian away from her parents after few minutes. But immediately she let go of her parents hands, her eyes rolled back and she became unconscious.
