Chapter 3 The News

Selina POV

There was silence after I broke the news to Sir. Russell . His face was neutral and I was anxious to know how he felt about it.

"So what you are trying to tell me is that you are pregnant for Adams ?" He asked, trying to maintain a good composure, but I could see the shock in his tone.

"I wanted to break the news to him today and now this came outside." I said, referring to the news about the infidelity.

"I know that you are going through it at the moment, I want to suggest that you come to my mansion and I can make preparation for you and we also discuss how you are going to give birth to the child. I want you to know that you are going to give birth to that child." He assured.

His plan was perfect and I could not help but be grateful to him for not giving up on me through the controversies.

Once he hang up the phone, I grabbed my bags and leave Adams 's mansion. I know Mr. Russell wants me around to have his grand child, but I did not consider it a safe space for my child.

I did not want to be constantly reminded of the fact that my child has no father.

After a few hours, I arrived at a top luxurious hotel, where I intended to stay for some time and aware from preying paparazzi.

"Greetings." I spoke to the receptionist, whose attention was completely on the screen before her.

"I am guessing you need a room." She asked, even without taking a glance at my direction.

"Indeed, I intend to spend two nights here " She nodded her head and went back to her computer, inputing a couple of data and afterwards grabbing a key and handing over to me.

"So what." She said throwing the key on the table. "Wait a minute..." he said the moment he finally saw my face.

"Aren't you Selina Adams ? The woman in the video..." he asked, curiosity piqued.

"Look, I don't know what's wrong with everyone. I need you to at least shut your lips and stop mentioning my name. Now, I'm just a guest here, so treat me like one. »

I hate the toxic energy that everyone around me suddenly seems to possess. It wasn't the first to go viral on the internet, but I still hated it.

Arriving in my room, I put down my luggage and fell into bed, thinking about Mr. Lockwood's offer.

I knew that the man was willing to help, but I did not want to upset his kind nature and end up on the cutting board next to his son, which would be too much for me. I was determined to manage my affairs.

There was a sudden knock on the door, which forced me to get out of bed and grab my sleeves.

As I opened the door, I was surprised by the strange person standing on my doorstep. It was the same man waiting. His eyes were staring at me and his aura was dangerous. "So? How much for one night?"

His question caught my attention.

"Excuse me?" I asked, hoping I heard his question correctly.

"How expensive is a night. Tell me your price and I'll double it."

he asked once more with a smile on his ugly face. "I don't know what you're talking about. Now, if you'll excuse me..." I ask turning to close the door but his strong arms grab my hands and pull me back; an act that seems shocking to me.

"No one walks away from me," he revealed. "You're definitely one of those villains who make themselves desirable." Which is pretty pathetic for someone whose sex clips are all over the internet. »

Anger reverberated throughout my body. He had drawn the line between my reasoning and my emotions and it hit me hard.

"Listen to me you spoiled bastard! I'm not a whore and if that's what you think of me, that's your opinion, I don't care. All I care about is calling the police and making you arrest for assault if your hands touch me again!" I warned him sternly.

"But there is nothing you can do, absolutely nothing. I have all the connections to get out of any difficult situation. what do you have Oh, I remember, you have holes wide open so that any man can put his pipe through them. »

I couldn't even hear a bit of what he had to say. I was completely disgusted and I forcefully removed his hands, returned to the room and slammed the door in his face.

"You're going to regret life decisions, whore. Maybe you need that dollar!"

I fell to the floor with tears in my eyes, thinking that this situation could be so complicated that everyone would label me a slut. It was clear that the waiting guests had the same thoughts when they saw my face. And the receptionist was not to be left.

My cell phone suddenly started ringing and Mr. Russell was on the line.

I knew he was probably wondering why he hadn't come to his residence. I didn't want to go back to that family. He didn't want to ruin his reputation anymore.

I watched the phone ring until it stopped ringing.

There was only one way out of this situation. I was already in love with the Internet and I didn't have the courage to open the phone. I could not live with this trauma. With the increasing toxicity, I needed a safe space to hold my energy and there was only one option available.

I got up from the floor, picked up the phone and asked to contact an old acquaintance.

After some time, he finally picked up the phone.

"Selina?" The beautiful voice of an old friend sent waves of joy into my soul.

"Hey Jane.. Uh, I know this may sound corny, but maybe I'll come to Canada to stay with you for a while. Don't worry, I'll explain everything to you soon. "

"Dear Ofelia, you know you're always welcome. I'll be waiting soon."

I hung up after that.

My decision was made and there was no going back.

I have to leave this place for sanity.
