Chapter 8 Humiliating Video

"Kiera, get over here quick! Ha! Looks like karma finally caught up!"

As Charlee's laughter filled the air, Archer walked out of the bathroom, his brow furrowing.

"Could you keep your laughter down? That's not how a proper lady's supposed to act. You're not only old, but your manners are lacking too. It's clear why you're still on your own at twenty-eight."

Archer's remark clearly upset Charlee.

"What was that? Repeat it, and you'll get an earful!" Charlee retorted, rolling up her sleeves and channeling her inner authority figure.

Casting a scornful look at Charlee, Archer moved toward Kiera, his tone becoming tender.

"Mommy, let me handle things here. Why don't you relax in the living room for a bit?"

With that, Archer began arranging the dishes Kiera had cooked, meticulously setting the table.

Watching Archer's thoughtful actions softened Charlee's initial irritation.

"You little rascal, I'll overlook your disrespect this once since you're so good to your mom."

"Really, old girl, living off others and not lifting a finger to help. Are you really a teacher?"

Charlee bristled at Archer's comment.

"Let me remind you, you're in my house!"

"Considering we pay rent here, shouldn't you be footing the bill for meals?"

Archer's disdainful glance silenced Charlee instantly.

Kiera, witnessing this exchange, cleared her throat and intervened. "Archer, it's inappropriate to address Charlee in such a manner. She will be your teacher soon, and it's crucial to show her respect."

The admonition caused Archer's demeanor to darken.

The prospect of being taught by Charlee was unappealing, yet remembering Breck's and Colton's situations, he held his tongue.

Charlee's spirits lifted at the mention of Archer attending her school.

"Kiera, is it true you're enrolling him in my kindergarten?"

"Yes, it's necessary for Archer to attend school, and I can't look after him while I work. Your kindergarten comes highly recommended, so I'm trusting you with his care."

"That won't be a problem," Charlee replied with a laugh, as Archer just huffed, choosing to remain silent.

"What had you laughing so hard earlier?" Kiera asked nonchalantly while arranging the table.

The question jogged Charlee's memory about the humorous news she'd seen online.

With a triumphant smirk, Charlee passed her phone to Kiera.

"Take a look at this, Kiera! Colton was just urinated on by a toddler. Hilarious, right? That jerk certainly had it coming."

Kiera reflexively watched the video clip.

It showed a toddler urinating on Colton's face. The child's features were blurred, but Colton's outraged face was clear as day.

Recognizing the child in the footage, Kiera shot a look at Archer.

Archer promptly averted his gaze.

Charlee suddenly screamed, "Hold on, you little rascal, is that you in the video? Those are your clothes! And wow, impressive size there."

Archer's cheeks flushed a deep shade of red.

"You old creep!"

With that, he dashed back to his room.

What an embarrassing mistake!

Why had he forgotten to blur his private areas?

Kiera observed the scene-Archer's mortification and Charlee's uncontrollable giggling-with a sense of resignation flickering in her eyes.

She couldn't grasp Archer's motives for targeting Colton, yet she couldn't deny her satisfaction with the results.

His own son peeing on him seemed harmless enough, didn't it? Still, given Colton's temperament, he was undoubtedly livid.

"Kiera, who do you think has posted this video online?" Charlee pondered aloud.

Shaking her head, Kiera responded, "Whoever did it, I have to admit it's pretty gratifying."

"Right? That jerk got lucky this time. If the one he had run into had been me, I would have taught him a harsher lesson, maybe with acid. Oh, by the way, did you know that Colton and Maeve's son, Breck, is also enrolled in our kindergarten? Are you really okay with sending the little mischief-maker there?"

Kiera's movements halted for a moment.

Colton and Maeve's son...

Drawing in a deep breath, she assured calmly. "Archer can hold his own. There's no need to worry about him."

"Yes, I'm with you on that." Charlee agreed, continuing the conversation with Kiera, oblivious to Colton's escalating fury in his office.

Who could have uploaded this video?

"Why aren't the PR team handling this? Are they just sitting around? How could this video have gone viral? Why hasn't it been taken down?"

In his anger, Colton hurled his phone towards Alaric.

Alaric felt a chill of fear.

He had only just come across the video himself and had attempted to contain its spread, but it was already rampant online.

"Mr. Sutton, we're implementing damage control measures, but it appears we're dealing with a sophisticated virus that compromises our computer systems, and our tech team is on it. I'm beginning to think we might have upset someone. Is it possible this is an intentional sabotage?" Alaric speculated.

At these words, Colton's expression grew sharp.

Was it possible that this scandal was a targeted attack against him?
