I came down to New York City for our marriage but it seems someone is not happy with that" she taunted
"What in God's name are you talking about?!" Jay asked angrily
"This might be the girl his parents want him to marry, " Avery thought to herself. Her day has already been dramatic and here comes another scene to behold.
"You came to New York to get married to me? I never told nor sent any messages across that I needed a wife!" he quickly snapped back
Avery could feel the hot stares of Rosie devouring her body.
"I see," Rosie said as she walked closer to Avery.
"You left me because of this useless, stinky low-class girl?"She demanded.
"Mind your choice of words Rosie, it is my wife we are talking about. I won't have you disrespect her right under my nose". He warned and pulled Avery away from the scene.
"This bastard!" Rosie yelled.
Avery sat on the bed without emitting a word. He noticed her distress and leaned closer to her, pulling her close enough that she could smell the Cologne he was wearing. She felt her heart racing when he rested her head on his broad yet comfy chest. He began again to stroke his fingers through her long curly air. The atmosphere was peaceful with neither of them ready to ruin their beautiful moment.
That night, Avery went to sleep in Jay's arms. The feeling was something she had never felt before. The feeling was one that she never thought she would experience. A sensational feeling swept through her whole body.
The night faded giving in to daylight. Avery woke up to the sounds of the birds chirping outside their window.
She opened her eyes only to see Jay staring deep into her soul. She immediately shut them.
"Avery, we need to talk," he said with a soft but firm voice.
She slowly opened her eyes. Jay looked at her and smiled, before patting her on the head.
"Avery, there is so much about my past with Rosie that you don't know. I broke up with her five years ago. I had all communication between us cut off during that period. I had no idea about her being here today. " he explained softly
" Why are you telling me this?" Avery asked
"Because you are my wife and you deserve to know and always be careful around her. I know Rosie very well and how scheming she can be. Just promise me you'll stay out of her troubles."
She looked at the man sitting right in front of her. Her mom's lifesaver and the man she got to consider a husband.
"I promise Jay, I will stay out of trouble and reach out to you immediately if I find myself in any kind of danger," Avery said with a coy smile.
He pulled her close in a warm hug.
"Do you have any plans for today?" he asked his wife.
"I planned to go perform the last funeral right of my Dad today. Mom wanted to throw Dad's ashes into the river herself but her health kept deteriorating. The last time I went to see her, she asked me to do it on her behalf so Dad would get eternal rest." she replied trying to hold in her tears.
"It's alright Avery, I'll drive you there."
She turned to him surprised "Aren't you supposed to be at the board meeting today?"
"My family comes first. It's time to perform my duty as a son-in-law and pay him my last respect."
A gentle smile forms across the corners of her lips.
"Now get up and take your shower. I'll go make us something for breakfast," he said, pulling Avery out of the bed. As Avery stood up, he couldn't help but admire how much she had grown beautifully these past few days.
She turned over and saw Jay still staring at her.
"I thought you said you were going to make breakfast?" She asked with her hands lightly on her hips.
"And no one told me staring at my wife is a crime." He teased back. Jay knows how to make her swallow her words inside of her so easily. She rolled her eyes over at him, as she stepped into the shower. Just then a knock sounded on the door. Before he could say, Jack, their bedroom door flung open, and there in the doorway, stood Rosie. Partially naked in her see-through laced nightwear. Jay swallowed hard!
"What are you doing here?" he asked with a deep scowl on his face and clenched fist.
"Relax baby, don't you miss us? I'm here to remind you of what you've been missing these past years," she said seductively.
"I said get out!" Jay burst out in a rage.
"Jay, is anybody there with you?" Avery asked from the shower.
"Don't worry Baby, I will handle it " he assured her.
