Chapter 7 0007.

Camilla's POV.

I held his hands tightly , hoping my words would somehow reach him , urging him to wake up but he still remains unconscious and my heart sank.

Suddenly I remember I was yet to check on George and I sent for a nurse quickly.

"I want you to closely monitor Lawrence's condition. He needs to be watched closely for any changes," I instructed the moment the nurse strode over to my side.

"Yes, Doctor. I'll make sure to keep a close eye on him. What specific parameters should I monitor?" the nurse asked, her pen poised over her clipboard.

"Keep a close eye on his vitals, especially his blood pressure and heart rate. Also, monitor his wound for any signs of infection or complications. And please, update me regularly on his condition," i replied, my eyes scanning the nurse's face to ensure she understood the gravity of the situation.

"Of course, Doctor. I'll take good care of him. And don't worry, I'll keep you updated on his condition." the nurse assured me.

I gave a nod,my mind already racing with thoughts of George. I quickly made my way out of the hospital, phone already in hand as I dialed Bridget's number.

Bridget's phone rang, and she answered almost immediately.

"Bridget, how's George? I'm so sorry I forgot to call earlier," I said, her voice laced with urgency.

"He's not good, Camie. I've taken him to the hospital, I'll text you the location. You need to get here as soon as you can," Bridget replied, her voice firm but worried.

"I'm on my way." I said as I ended the call.

I made my way to the garage and with a swift movement I fired up the engine and hurried over to the hospital to meet George.

I quickly made my way to the hospital with the address bridget. When i arrived, I found Bridget pacing outside George's room, her face etched with worry.

"Camilla, thank goodness you're here," Bridget said, rushing over to her. "The doctor is with George now. He'll be out soon to talk to us."

I nodded, panting heavily from all the running .My mind, racing with worst-case scenarios. I leaned on the side of the door trying to keep my breath steady.

"Where have you been I was beginning to think something must have happened." Bridget asked.

"I had something to attend at the hospital." I huffed running my hands over my hair.

"Are you okay? You look really tense up." Bridget reached out to touch my head.

"You're burning up." Bridget muttered and I could tell she was furious.

I gently held her hands from my head and flashed a smile.

"I'm good.i just need a little rest,a goodnight sleep should fix it." I turned my gaze to the door."I just need to know if he's okay."

"Where is Mira." I asked furiously when I realized that she wasn't with Bridget.

"She was asleep when I rushed George to the hospital. I just hope she hasn't woken up."

"Thank you so much Bridget." I exhaled"I don't know what I'll do without you."

I was beginning to get over whelmed with emotions. George fate was still unknown and his father is in a critical condition still unconscious and not showing any sigh of waking up.

Bridget noticed my mood and she immediately rushed to hug me.

"Don't worry his going to be fine. Everything is good to be alright,I promise." Her words assured me but my heart was still heavy.

I broke down in her arms and burst into tears.

"What am I going to do Bridget." I sobbed.

"Shh!" She gently hissed,as her warm hands ran over my back"George is going to be okay."

I forced a smile trying my best to brighten my mood.

"Thank you so much." I exhaled a deep breath, wiping the tears off my face.

"I'll wait for the doctor. you should go check on Mira. If she wakes up and doesn't find anyone at home she might get scared." I said to Bridget.

She held a skeptical gaze and I could tell she was hesitant to leave.

"Are you sure you're going to be okay?" She asked softly.

"Yeah sure." I sniffed , forcing a smile to hide the bitterness I felt inside.

"When you try to act tough I get worried."

"I'm fine don't worry too much." I laughed.

"When you tell me not to get worried it just makes me worried all the more." Bridget furrowed a brow.

"I'm good." I replied.

"Alright then. I'll be back with Mira." She said.

I watched her figure retreat down the hall and then I turned my gaze to the door.

When the doctor emerged, my expression was somber with hope.

"Doctor, how is he?" I asked, my voice firm but laced with fear.

"I'm afraid George has Leukemia. He needs an urgent bone marrow transplant if he's going to survive," the doctor explained, his voice gentle but firm.

I felt like i had been punched in the gut. As a doctor I knew the urgency of the situation, and the difficulty of finding a bone marrow donor. I felt crushed, my mind racing with thoughts of losing my son.

My eyes welling up with tears.I felt like i was drowning, unable to breathe.

I nearly lost my balance but I was quick to hold onto the side of the wall in order not to fall because I was beginning to get dizzy.

My face wet with tears.I knew i had to stay strong, for George's sake. But right now, i just felt like collapsing I could see my world shattering before my eyes.

As I held onto the wall, I felt a sense of desperation wash over me. I would do anything to save my son, anything to find a donor.

"He needs an urgent bone marrow transplant if he's going to survive."The doctor's words echoed in her mind.

I knew I had to act fast, to find a donor before it was too late.
