Chapter 6 Chapter 6

"N ot exactly, I guess I woke up edgy today. It's fine really". She assured him.

"Let's go back downstairs I bet mom is almost done with that meal".

"Yeah, yeah we should, let me grab my jacket". Paul replied.

"Wait up Ari you've been way too quiet okay, is everything alright?" Aurora asked looking concerned it's rare to see Arianna looking like cat got her tongue.

"I was thinking-

"Thinking what?" Paul interrupted.

"You didn't have to interrupt me I would have said whatever it was I had to say okay ".

"He lacks conversation manners, the boy does". Aurora winked at Paul to bear the insult and be quiet.

"I think I don't want to go to college too".

"What!"

"Why are you surprised, I mean it's true what you said about the criticism and most often times that not I'm tempted to show them what a vampire can do and scare the hell out of them so much that they can't say anything about us again".

"You guys really have been letting all this human talks get to you way too much". Paul said, trying to act the older one.

"Don't act like it doesn't disturb you either, all those talks makes you think what happens if they ever find out". Arianna replied feeling so low inside.

"Well, okay what if they do find out what are they going to do? Is your vampire strength that weak? To get the whole school tied up in a circle it'll only take me a minute so why would I be scared of them those people cannot do anything to me so I am not scared of all they say and you guys shouldn't be either". Paul said thinking "is it cause they're girls or something how could you be scared of mere humans?"

The girls still do not look comforted by his speech.

"You guys are really taking this too far I mean you guys don't read their eyes when they talk, they are scared, they are afraid of what wouldhappen to them if we appear as a reality to them. So I cannot believe that you are scared of someone who is scared of you. What does that make you both, stupid-"

"Fine we get your message, why would you insult me for a human, stupid thug". Aurora cuts him off.

"Rora let's go eat, he can continue his speech up here I bet aunty is already waiting for us". Arianna pulled her, her mood now lightened up.

The two girls hurry downstairs while Paul stands back and watch them go.

"All those speech did work on them but then let's hope we never run into such a situation I cannot begin to think what is going to happen if we do".

Paul walks out of the room and closes the door behind him.

"Hey stupid thug, what took you so long were you fixing your make up ".

"Why would I be fixing my make up I'm no girl ".

"You guys stop bickering now, lunch is served, take a seat at the table".

"Oh my goodness, the aroma is to die for, aunty mind if I come take cooking lessons from you". Paul said looking like he cannot wait to dig into the food.

"Stupid thug, I know aunty also makes amazing food with aromas to due for so why don't you take the lessons in your house and save me a whole lot of stress, I might go nuts if I go through your bickering everyday uhn". Aurora replied faking a very horrified look like just the thought is scary to her.

The bickering and talks continue, there was roastings and comebacks, mrs Salvatore sat at the head of the table having a proud expression on her face. Aurora might be her biological daughter but the other two were no different, all parents had entrusted the children to each other and loved each other's kids like their own. Paul is a very sweet child always sticking with his mother and helping her since he is the only child, he is also more levelheaded than the other two girls.

Arianna was a very timid person you get to know her, her confidence level affected by the loss of her parents at a tender age and having a aunt like that. Fiona was definitely not a bad person she was just an overly strict and uptight person with unbending rules, not a perfect mix with a teenager. Ari was strong though never letting it show that it hurts, always with a smile for the world that took her parents. The girl was amazing at heart.

"Mrs Salvatore a kobo for your thoughts". Aurora said having noticed that her mom was miles away from them.

"A kobo couldn't possibly buy aunty's thought they're billion dollar thoughts". Arianna said trying to flatter her up thinking she saw worry in her eyes earlier.

"Now Ari gets it better, bring the money first and I'll tell you". Mrs Salvatore joked.

"Well, mom you could tell us first and we'll pay up after lunch". Paul chipped in.

"Now those are the thoughts of a fraud ". Mrs Salvatore said making everybody burst into laughter.

"Eat up everyone, it's bad habit to talk on the meal ".

"Yes ma'am". They chorused like they expected the correction.

They all began to eat their food in silence now everyone with their thoughts. Arianna wasn't convinced and thought something must have been bothering aunt.

Paul was thinking his mom had not followed him so he could spend quality time with Aurora but all that had gone down the drain. He enjoyed the time spent with everyone but only really wanted to spend time with Aurora.

Aurora was eating with more gusto than any other person on the table and was wondering if her mom would agree to her having another serving. If only her brothers were around they'd fight for her.
