Chapter 4 Four

Kylie's POV

"No, No, it's a big No," there was no way I was going to touch a single hair on his body.

The one name I never wanted to come across in this Industry was right in front of me and was written boldly.

"Do you Know who's name is on the file?" I questioned as a nervous smile graced the corner of my lips.

I bit my lips as I heaved a sigh, "The name on the file is Jaylen Noire Adryan, I am sure you are aware of that."

"Yes, I am very well aware," Alexis put off her massage chair.

How would anybody decide to just wake up and kill Jaylen, it's like signing a death contract and I didn't sign one.

"And you want me to kill him? That man Is well protected, I am also sure you are well aware of that," I tried my best to be calm because I'm around Alexis.

The person they wanted me to eliminate is one of the youngest, most successful and notorious mafia lords, Jaylen Noire Adryan. He is the king of the underground world and he is the kind of person someone like me would never want to cross paths with.

"So?" Alexis raised her eyebrows.

"If I touched a single hair on that man's body, I would be dead before sunrise, My child would be motherless!" I yelled and stood up from the chair not being able to control my anger anymore.

"You have made other people motherless," Antonio muttered under his breath.

"What are you so scared of?" Alexis walked up to me.

What was I scared of? I thought of what I was scared of and it was getting involved in Jaylen's affairs.

"Jaylen Noire Adryan, I am scared of killing Jaylen," I looked her dead in the eyes.

Alexis places her both hands on my shoulders, "You are No 60, you are shadow, you are our No 1 assassin, so why can't you eliminate Jaylen?" Alexis refused to break eye contact with me.

Alexis's eye contact with me was making me nervous so I decided to break first.

"I don't think we should get involved with Jaylen," Antonio suddenly said. I turned to look at him. I was beyond shock that Antonio was supporting me for the first time in my life since I knew him.

"The pay is ten times what you get for one kill and the person specially picked you, so what are you going to do?" Alexis sat back on her chair and crossed her Legs as a smirk appeared on her face.

The pay was tempting but Jaylen wasn't someone you can touch and I wasn't willing to put myself or my family at risk for money.

I said the first word that came out of my mouth without thinking, "Quit," I, myself, was shocked by what I had just said.

"Quit?" Alexis questioned, the smirk on her face instantly wiped off as she raised her eyebrows.

What the fuck was I thinking? Now there was no going back.

I bit my inner cheeks, "I said, Quit, it simply means I am going to quit the Industry," I said boldly but my mind was in chaos and my palm was sweating.

Alexis uncrossed her legs, "did you forget the contract you signed?"

"No, ma, I didn't forget, once you enter, no going back," I said, looking down at my feet.

"So?" Alexis tapped her finger on the desk.

"I can't interfere in Jaylen's life, we both know we won't succeed and this industry would be gone before we begin," I said using my hands to demonstrate, "since I can't do it I am going to quit."

"Quitting here means you would truly be dead," Alexis smirked, "but I would give you six days to change your mind."

"There is no need for that because I will not be changing my mind anytime soon," I picked up my bags and Left Alexis' office.

"Trust me she will be back before the end of this week," I heard Alexis say before I left her office.

I knew I had acted in the moment, I have money to sustain me for a long time, I have businesses going on but what was I thinking, Alexis would ruin me before the end of the week.

I sat in my car in the underground parking lot, my hands held the steering wheel and my head rested on it.

I was in that position for hours thinking of my life and what to do when I suddenly had a stupid idea.

"I will go solo," I said out loud and raised my head from the steering wheel.

Going Solo means I will have to do everything on my own but where do I begin? Where do I start?

"What do you mean we are under search and seizure!" I yelled over the phone and ended it.

In the last few days, I have lost so many people and deals, my business has gone down the drain.

My business went through search and seizure, the court summoned me for Tax evasion and illegal transportation of goods.

"Fuck Alexis!" I threw the glass at the wine bar, making some wine fall on the floor and break.

I couldn't believe she did all these just to get me to kill Jaylen, I brought out my phone and dialed her number and she picked at the second ring.

"Have you changed your mind yet?" My blood boiled with anger as Alexis said over the phone.

"You don't have to destroy me before you win," I was scared of Alexis but I didn't know where such courage came from.

"Destroy you? I haven't even done anything," I could hear the surprise in her voice.

"What do you mean you haven't done anything? You literally destroyed everything that I have worked for!" I took a gulp of my wine directly from the bottle.

"Kylie, what are you talking about?" Alexis seems to be genuinely confused.

I was about to lash out when I heard a message come into my phone from a private number.

"You shouldn't be this stubborn, I'm giving you one more chance but if you refuse to take this chance just relax and watch what I do next."

I realized this wasn't Alexis's doing, it was someone else, it was the person who had asked me to eliminate Jaylen.

"Kylie are you okay?" Alexis asked, showing concern for my silence.

"I will give the headquarter a call in the next 30 minutes and that call will decide your fate," Another message from the private number entered my phone.

"Alexis I will be at the office in the next 30 minutes," I ended the call without waiting for an answer.

Who was this person? How did this person get my personal information? And why does this person want me to kill Jaylen?

I need to go into the office if I want to know why this person is doing all these.
