"Turns out that barbaric girl Clara behaves barbarically too? Look at that, she's been used already. And she hasn't even graduated yet," whispered Anne, one of Clara's classmates who loved to spread gossip.
"Yeah, I can't believe Clara had the guts. She seems so innocent on the outside, but on the inside, ugh ... I'm embarrassed to consider her a fellow woman," replied another student.
"How can Clara not be ashamed of doing such disgusting things on campus? It could ruin our campus's reputation if people found out."
"She already has Algo, who is incredibly handsome. And she still looks for other guys. What's wrong with her? She must be crazy."
"Her parents must be so ashamed to have a daughter like her. She can't protect herself and her dignity as a woman."
"A girl like Clara should be eradicated. She'll only produce seeds of divorce in marriages. Absolutely disgusting!"
"I'm embarrassed to have a friend like Clara, so barbaric and not even a virgin anymore. Shameful!"
"Disgusting girl! She has no sense of shame. Doing such things on campus. In the storage room, no less. She should have gone to a hotel."
Those were the insults she received from her friends. Even though they were whispering, she could hear them clearly. Especially when someone mentioned that she was no longer a virgin. That really stabbed her heart.
She wanted to disappear from there, to avoid all the taunts and insults from them. It was truly humiliating and disgusting.
"Stupid girl!"
Algo approached his helpless, tearful girlfriend. Her eyes were swollen from crying continuously. And her appearance ... was not appropriate for a college student. She looked more like a homeless person, with torn clothes.
This exposed a bit of her pink underwear. Of course, this was due to the actions of an irresponsible, crazy lecturer.
"So this is what you do behind my back, Ra? All this time you had a relationship with Dev? I can't believe you would do this behind my back," Algo raged.
"And ... you're no better than a cheap woman. You've become someone else's satisfaction. Don't you have any shame? Cheap woman!" Algo lashed out at her.
Anyone in his position would think the same. What man would accept a partner who is no longer a virgin? It would inevitably end in divorce or violence. That's what often happens in our community.
"Al, I didn't do that," she replied weakly.
She couldn't bear to hear the harsh words from her boyfriend. The person she loved so much, even defying her parents to maintain her relationship with Algo, called her a cheap woman? But she wasn't that kind of woman.
"Look at Clara's underwear showing. No wonder Dev was tempted, with such skimpy clothes."
Meanwhile, the man accused of inappropriate actions with Clara suddenly approached her and draped his blazer over her. He had heard Zidni, a classmate, speaking.
"Put this on, your underwear is showing," he said. Then he glanced at Clara's boyfriend briefly before turning away.
"Why are you just silent? You should say what really happened. Because of your actions, I'm being wrongly accused," Dev whispered in her right ear.
Clara just hung her head, not daring to look at Dev. Because of her, Dev was being accused of something disgusting. But she didn't dare to say that the culprit wasn't Dev, but their lecturer, Arya Mahendra.
His fanatical fans wouldn't believe her and would think it was nonsense. So she chose to remain silent.
"Turns out you really love stealing other people's partners. When I was close to Sonia, you took her. Now Clara. Not only did you take her, but you also slept with her. Is your dirty mind still functioning?" Algo asked, raising his voice.
He looked at the man with disgust, believing he had done something shameful with his girlfriend.
"I didn't do anything to your girlfriend. When I got here, she was already like this. I'm not the culprit. I came here because, um, that lecturer asked me to ...."
He scanned the area, looking for the overly good-looking lecturer, Arya Mahendra. The handsome biology lecturer who had a dirty mind.
Maybe because he was too engrossed in biology, he decided to practice it in real life. But he chose the wrong time and place.
"There's the real culprit. Arya Mahendra!" he declared.
He even called out the lecturer's name without any honorifics because he was truly angry about being played like this. He wasn't a criminal, but he was made to look like one.
"Devaro! Don't make up stories. How dare you accuse me recklessly. I am your lecturer, you should show respect!" Arya asserted, in full denial.
Respect? He thought a lecturer like him could be a role model? He should be eradicated from the campus, or better yet, kicked off the planet. He only polluted our already plastic-littered planet.
'Shit ... what did he say? A lecturer like him doesn't even deserve to be called human. He's no better than an animal roaming for prey,' Dev muttered, full of curses.
He wanted to kick Arya right then and there. But no one believed his words.
"Someone like you doesn't deserve respect. You should just leave this earth. You're a burden to society," Dev said.
"You did something shameful and still deny it. Do you have any self-respect as a man? If you dare to do it, you should take responsibility!" Arya retorted.
It seemed he forgot that he was the one who did the heinous act to Clara. He didn't want to tell the truth, instead twisting the facts and blaming Dev.
Truly shameful. People like Arya are cowards. Only wanting the benefits without the consequences. Not gentlemanly at all.
"Maybe you were the one who defiled this girl. Earlier, your actions were suspicious," Dev accused, not knowing if Arya was the culprit or not. But after coming from the storage room, Arya had immediately asked him to go there to put something away.
Stupidly, he complied without thinking twice. He thought his lecturer genuinely needed help from a student. But it turned out to have a hidden agenda. As the saying goes, there's an elephant behind the stone.
"Everyone be quiet and go back to your classes. This is not a spectacle!" Mr. Tirta shouted.
"Aw ... sir, that's no fun. The drama was just getting good," Anne whined, rolling her eyes in annoyance.
If she went back to class, there would be no gossip material to spread later. She would miss out on the chance to get revenge on Clara for daring to get close to Algo, whom she also liked.
"Go back or your GPA will be below two!" Mr. Tirta threatened. He never joked about his words.
The students reluctantly returned to their classes, disappointed because they wanted to watch a real-life soap opera.
"And you ... come with me to the office. I'll call your parents. Your actions are inexcusable. Absolutely disgusting!" Mr. Tirta shouted.
He was a patient lecturer, but this involved the campus's reputation. He had to act firmly and fairly so that no one would be harmed.
"Oh God ... what should I say to Mom and Dad?"
