Chapter 5 Pureness Organization

Rhett only saw her as a source of blood for the woman he cherished. Eliza scoffed internally.

The medical team waited in the room designated for blood collection.

Upon noticing her, they prepared to collect her blood.

Rhett began to roll up her sleeve, but paused, taken aback.

Her arm bore some hickeys.

Rhett's gaze shifted to Eliza, filled with astonishment.

He hadn't anticipated the man from the previous night to go so far as to leave marks on her arm.

Rhett experienced a rush of mixed emotions.

It was Eliza's attempt to pull her arm away that snapped Rhett back to reality.

Regaining focus, Rhett firmly held onto her arm and yelled at the awaiting doctor, "Why are you just standing there? Get to work now!"

The doctor, caught off guard by the scolding, moved to proceed.

But he halted mid-step when the hospital director burst in, demanding everyone to stop.

Rhett, puzzled, turned to the director.

Approaching Rhett, the hospital director offered a respectful bow and explained in a formal tone, "My apologies, Mr. Bailey. Today, we're undergoing inspection."

"Inspection? What do you mean?" Rhett blurted out, frustration coloring his words. He felt like he was losing his grip on sanity, with only the thought of saving Makenzie driving him.

Noticing the medical team hadn't taken Eliza's blood yet, he grabbed a syringe, ready to do it himself.

But the hospital director intervened swiftly. "They're from the Pureness Organization!"

The news struck Rhett like a bolt from the blue.

Eliza, too, turned toward the door in shock.

Entering through that door was Rylan, Kyson's assistant.

Catching sight of Eliza's prepped arm, he teased, "Mr. Bailey, are you planning to take your fiancée's blood yourself?"

Rhett was well aware of the purpose behind the Pureness Organization's establishment.

Eliza seemed lost in thought.

Eight years earlier, a scandal had rocked Clenard Hospital, Aneson's largest private healthcare facility.

A woman from a small town, who had come to Aneson to earn a living, became embroiled in a tragic medical incident. She had gone through medical testing to donate a kidney to her critically ill family.

However, despite being a match, she was coerced into donating her kidney to a female celebrity requiring a transplant. That celebrity was backed by a powerful individual in Aneson.

Eventually, the woman lost her kidney and, following her family's demise, she took her own life by jumping from the hospital building, sparking widespread outrage.

The Cooper family, owners of the hospital, had resolved the issue, but Kyson, after taking over his family business, established the Pureness Organization to prevent future similar incidents.

Now, whether it was organ donation or blood donation, it must be approved by the donors themselves.

Anyone caught requesting illegal or coerced donations faced punishment.

"How is that possible? She was willing to give her blood to Makenzie. That's legal," Rhett said, quickly signaling to Eliza to back him up.

He wasn't keen on the idea of facing punishment.

Hearing Rhett, Eliza turned to Rylan, about to speak, when suddenly, a voice interrupted. "I'm not interested in what Eliza Scott has to say. I want to hear it from someone else."

This voice sent shivers down everyone's spine.

At the entrance stood Kyson, clad in a black wool overcoat, adjusting his white gloves, a smile on his face.

The director was visibly sweating.

Feeling a mix of surprise and panic, Rhett called out, "Uncle Kyson... What brings you here?"
