"Excuse me! Excuse me!"

Shelton Reed rushed into Hilton Hotel with a folder in hand.

It was nearly 5:30 p.m. He had to hurry to deliver the urgent document and then go home to make dinner in case his wife scolded him.

He soon arrived at the door of a presidential suite and rang the doorbell without even taking a breath.

Ding-dong!

After a while, the door to the room was opened.

"Hello, your..."

Before he could finish, Shelton saw the person who opened the door and froze instantly. The folder slipped from his hands.

The door was opened by none other than his wife, Vera Nilson!

Not far behind Vera stood a young man in a bathrobe.

Shelton knew him. He was a famous rich man in Chicago named Haward Black, Vera's suitor.

"Vera, you..."

Shelton couldn't believe this.

Vera froze slightly.

"Why are you here? Go back home. You make me sick!" She looked very cold and impatient.

Her words broke Shelton's heart.

But soon he forced a smile. "Actually... If you felt tired with our marriage, you can just talk to me. I'll let go and wish you happiness."

"We've been married for three years. I saw this coming. I've prepared signed divorce papers and put them under my bed. You can sign them and divorce me whenever you want."

"I'm sorry you were wronged by me during the past three years. I hope you can remember that a loser... has been good to you."

After that, Shelton turned around in frustration. His tears fell to the floor.

He had thought he wouldn't care about anything, but when the day actually came, he felt his heart break.

Looking at Shelton's dejected back, Vera wanted to say something, but she couldn't.

Haward was happy. He stepped forward and cleared his throat. "Vera, just sign the divorce papers and marry me as he said. I promise you'll be happy."

Vera turned around and glared at Haward. "You called me here for business talk on purpose and then had the courier company arrange for him to deliver your urgent document so he would misunderstand me and give up his failed marriage to me, didn't you?"

"Vera, what are you talking about? Am I that kind of person?"

"Yes, you are!"

Vera gritted her teeth. "If I'm right, this so-called urgent document sent by a client is a fake!"

After that, she bent down, picked up the folder, and tore it open.

Haward was shocked and grabbed the folder. "Vera, this is a secret document of my company. You can't read it. Give it to me."

Vera didn't listen to him and pulled out the document.

It was a stack of blank papers.

"Is this your company's secret document?"

Vera questioned furiously.

Haward was speechless.

"You're so mean!"

Vera angrily threw the papers on the floor and stomped away in her high heels.

"Yes! I'm mean!"

Haward immediately stopped Vera and shouted, "But I'm doing this because of you!"

"If you divorce that loser and marry me, I can help Nilson Group get through the crisis and you can stop being so tired. Why did you just reject me?"

"I'm so much better than him! I graduated from Cambridge University. My family has over two billion dollars. I have mansions, sports cars, and so much money. What about him? He's just a penniless delivery guy. Why do you have to be with him?"

"Because he can make me feel safe but you can't!"

After that, Vera pushed Haward away and walked away.

"Damn it!"

Haward punched the wall.

"We'll see if he can make you feel safe!"

He rushed into the presidential suite in a rage, picked up the cell phone on the coffee table, and dialed a number.

"Weldon, there are signed divorce papers under that loser's bed. Go find them right now and have Vera's mother force her to sign them when she gets back!"

Suddenly, it started raining cats and dogs.

It was so sudden. The passersby all escaped the rain while a man staggered forward in it.

Shelton had no family. He didn't know where he would go if he left the Nilson family.

He was originally the son of the Reed family, one of New York's top families. Three years ago, his arms and legs were broken and he was kicked out of the Reed family, where Vera's father, Tommy Nilson, was on a business trip and happened to save him.

Tommy had no sons. He thought Shelton was nice and arranged for him to marry Vera when he recovered so that Shelton became the live-in son-in-law of the Nilson family.

Soon a man in a suit got out of the Mercedes S600 and ran to Shelton with a black umbrella.

Then an old man with white hair got out of the Rolls Royce. Flanked by several men in suits with umbrellas, he approached Shelton and all of them bent down respectfully.

"Mr. Reed!"

They shouted in unison.

The people who had just laughed at Shelton were stunned!

That loser is a big shot's son!

"Who sent you guys? Have you come to laugh at me?"

Shelton stared at these people coldly.

These people were the servants of the Reed family. The old man in the lead was Larry, the butler of the Reed family.

"Mr. Reed, Old Mr. Reed asked me to take you back. Your maternal grandfather contacted the Reed family and asked for your blood for a DNA test. If he doesn't get your blood in three days, he'll destroy the Reed family. Please come back with me, Old Mr. Reed can't handle the pressure," Larry said in a shaky voice.

"Go back?" Shelton sneered. "As far back as I can remember, the Reed family hasn't treated me as a person. I remember being bullied by my brothers when I was a kid. They would beat me up whenever I complained, but every time I complained to my maternal grandfather, he said I deserved it."

"Three years ago, my second brother called me a bastard and I fought him, my maternal grandfather asked you to break my arms and legs and kick me out of the Reed family without asking me anything. I'm still a weak loser right now!

"Now my maternal grandfather approaches you. Old Mr. Reed only asked me to go back because he was afraid of retaliation. I will never go back."

"Go back and tell him I'd rather die out there than go back to the Reed family!"

Shelton had no parents and the Reed family treated him badly, so he was used to being alone. It didn't matter to him if the person who wanted his blood for a DNA test was his maternal grandfather. He just wanted to be a loser and rot.

"Old Mr. Reed said if you go back, he'll make you heir to the Reed family and you can punish your second brother and me all you want."

Larry begged.

"I said I'm never going back to the Reed family. Are you deaf?"

Shelton shouted angrily.

"Go away! Stay away from me!"

He angrily kicked the men in suits.

At that moment, a woman's voice shouted from behind Shelton.

"Shelton, are you crazy? Stop it!"
