"I understand that you're angry, and you have every right to be. But please, just listen to me. I know I can never take back what I've done, but I just want you to understand why it happened." Brian spoke, his voice full of emotion. He hesitated further, wondering if what he was about to day was worth it.
"Ever since I met your mother, I've been attracted to her. I know that's not an excuse, but I want you to know the truth. It wasn't intentional, but I found myself growing closer to her over time. I know that's not what you want to hear, but it's the truth." Brian spoke, his eyes pleading for forgiveness. He looked at Brenna's face and that of Amelia and the look they both had on was a look of disgust.
"You're unbelievable." Brenna's voice was filled with disbelief. "How could you do this to me? To us?" Shs asked shaking her head in disappointment.
"You should be ashamed of yourself Brian, doing the irritating act makes me want to throw up." Amelia revealed.
"I don't have any personal relationship with you, I would respect if you keep your opinion to yourself." Brian berated at Amelia. The one thinf he wouldn't want was for a third party over stepping their boundaries.
He turned to look at Brenna. "I know it's hard to understand. But I want you to know that I never meant to hurt you." He said softly, hoping she could get his point.
She turned away from him, unable to look at him anymore. "I want you out of my life." She said, her voice full of pain. "I'll never forgive you for what you've done." She still tried to admit to herself that she was dreaming and would soon wake up to reality, but despite her assumption, she was seeing the real deal. The man she called her beloved husband, the man she had said her vows to years ago was having an affair with her mother.
Brenna left the room, leaving Brian alone with his thoughts. He felt a mix of emotions - regret, guilt, and sadness. He knew he had made a terrible mistake, and he didn't know how to fix it. All he could do was hope that one day, she would be able to forgive him.
Amelia stared at Brian with disgust, but Brian wouldn't care the least, as he walked back to his car. He didn't have the nerve to step into the mansion. Once he was in the car, he felt his phone buzz and was surprised to see it was from his pal Eddie.
"Hey bro." Eddie's voice was always happy regardless of any circumstance.
"Am good. I am currently going through several emotional stuffs right now. Are you home? Alone?" He added reminiscing over the fact that Eddie's girl didn't like his presence.
"Sure, I am fully at home." Eddie replied with a chuckle, getting the hint from his question.
"Alright, I am on my way then." Brian hung up and drove out of the apartment in full speed.
"I gave him my heart and soul, and he crushed them both." Brenna sobbed, as Amelia held her close and let her cry. "I don't know how I'm going to move on from this. I feel like my whole world has been turned upside down." She sobered further, ignoring the favt she was soaking up Amelia.
"It's okay to feel that way." Amelia said gently. "It's normal to feel lost and confused after something like this. But I want you to know that you're strong and you're going to get through this." Amelia assured her, patting her back.
Suddenly, a wave of anger washed over her. She was no longer sad - she was furious. How could her own mother do this to her? How could she betray her trust in such a way? She thought about all the times she had confided in her mother, about all the moments they had shared. And now, it all felt like a lie. She felt like she had been living a lie for her entire life.
She couldn't stay there any longer. She needed to get away from the house, from her family, from everything. She grabbed her coat and stormed out the door.
"Where are you going?" Amelia asked thr moment her friend had grabbed her coat.
"I will be back." She didn't want anyone knowing where she was headed.
Pulling one of her older cars out of the garage, Brenna drove out of the apartment swiftly, almost knocking off a part of the gate.
Brenna's thoughts were racing as she drove down the road. She was angry and upset, but she was also afraid. She didn't know what to do or where to go. She felt like her life was falling apart, and she couldn't see a way out. The road in front of her was long and empty, and she felt like she was lost in the darkness. How could Brian ever do this to her? She pondered as she hit thr accelerator pedal harder, driving faster than her speed limit. The sound of the night wind blew across the window, but Brenna couldn't care about all these things. What was important to her, was clearing off her head from the pain she was feeling inside.
Her phone suddenly buzzed and this made her groaned in frustration. One eyes on the road, she tried locating her bag, but it fell to the floor and all she needed to do was lean down and pick it up. The road was empty; so she had thought and this propelled her to lean down and pick up her phone.
A honk suddenly flew across her ears and instinctively she fixed her eyes back to the road, at the impending danger of a car attempting to collide with hers. In one split second, Brenna had lost control of her wheel as she attempted to move away from the collision, there by crashing I the solar poles.
Time seemed to slow down as she felt the impact. The airbag deployed, hitting her in the face. She felt a sharp pain in her side, and then everything went black.
