She was just about to start screaming again when the door opened. The person stood by the door and turned on the light. She was immediately blinded by its brightness. It took more than a minute for her eyes to adjust to the light and she found out he was still standing there.
Floyd had taken off his jacket and only had on his white shirt tucked into his black pants. She couldn't help but notice that Floyd looked even more handsome than before. This thought got her even more upset.
Here she was tied up and on the floor in a store in God only knows where and all she could think about was how handsome her captor looked.
"You need psychological help Sam," she told herself.
Stepping into the room, Floyd walked up to where she was tired on the floor. He got on one knee in front of her and began to loosen the rope used in bonding her hands and legs. After he was done, he pulled her up to her feet and kept his hands on both her shoulders to steady her on her feet till she gained her balance.
For a moment Samantha almost forgot why she had been so angry. Engulfed in the smell of his cologne, she found herself lost staring at him until he started speaking.
"Am so sorry for the mix-up Miss Davis, when I saw you, I thought you were someone else who had been sending me threatening messages. I would never have handled you the way I did if I knew who you are." David explained.
His words broke the spell and brought back her senses. As though on reflex, she lifted her hand and gave him a loud slap on the left cheek. All the anger she had felt earlier came rushing back.
She was ready to kick and curse him to hell and back when all of a sudden, she felt dizzy and lost her balance.
"Are you okay?" Floyd asked with one hand on his hurting cheek and the other stretched out to help her.
"Don't touch me again, don't ever in your life touch me again" she shouted. She had gotten to the door on her way out of the store when she collapsed on the floor.
Floyd rushed to her side. "Samantha, can you hear me?" He asked feeling for her pulse. She lay still and didn't respond. He decided to try resuscitating her but that took didn't work. So he carried her on his shoulders and rushed her out of the warehouse into the car parked outside.
"Drive to the hospital and drive as fast as you can," Floyd ordered the driver, who had been waiting in the car.
Sitting in the car, he gently held her against himself, with her head placed on his lap. Once again he checked for her pulse and noticed it was slower than normal.
"Drive faster" he shouted.
"Yes sir."
Staring at her face, he noticed for the first time since he saw her how beautiful she was. Her complexion, fair and unblemished, possessed a silky smoothness that invited a gentle touch. A cute, pointed nose added a charming touch to her features. But it was her lips-small yet undeniably sexy-with a natural pink hue that made one desire to kiss them.
Then, there were her eyes. He had looked into their depths while steadying her at the warehouse, finding himself captivated by the green orbs that reminded one of a lush forest. A man could easily lose himself in their enchanting gaze he thought.
Stopping himself before his thought went too far, he mentally facepalmed himself. "What am I doing admiring her, when she is lying down here almost lifeless? How do I explain this to Charles", he wondered.
Last week after their trip from Chicago, one of the ladies whom he had contracted for Charles kept sending messages that she was ready for some more good time, he had replied to her, warning her never to contact him again. That was part of the contract she signed. He contacted her first, but she kept on sending messages. Her last message had read that she was in Arizona and she knew who they and she was ready to meet up whenever they were ready. Floyd had been so pissed off.
He was ready to send out men to take care of her when he heard that Samantha Davis was in the building to see him. Without even thinking, he had assumed she was the one sending the massages it since her name was Samantha also.
Now he regretted acting on his anger as he later found out who Samantha Davis's father is, after going through the stuff in her bag.
When they got to the hospital, he carried her to the emergency section and the nurses immediately got her into a bed and placed her on oxygen.
A doctor approached him. "Sir you need to tell us what happened so can know what treatment to administer to her." He explained.
Floyd had come up with a believable story while in the car to avoid suspicion. "We had a meeting with clients somewhere downtown, after the meeting she stepped out to receive a phone call when she was attacked by some guy who snatched her bag. I think he injected her with something." He lied.
"Am so sorry about this the young doctor replied, we will do everything to make sure she is okay."He assured Floyd.
