Chapter 8 Race 8

All the employees were busy in the lobby when I arrived. I watched them frowning. Fortunately, I met Danny in the lobby.

"What's going on, why are the employees so busy? "I asked out of curiosity. He was surprised that he didn't realize I was by his side.

"R-Red!" He said while holding his chest. He didn't notice me earlier because he was focused on the clipboard he was holding.

He looked at me as I unzipped my racing suit. I felt so hot that I started to sweat.

"Why are you wearing a racing suit? " he asked with a frown.

"I came from the racing track earlier. " I answered sparingly.

"Really? Earlier than six o'clock? " I nodded in response.

"Gad Red! You're insane! " he said dramatically.

Actually, I was at the racing track in the middle of the night. Because I can't sleep, what happened last night at the launch party is bothering me.

I didn't expect him to do that thing, just to remind me that he was the one that was my sex partner that night.

I also did not expect to have a one-night stand with him.

"How did you get onto the racing track? I know the entrance and exit are locked at that time. " He said, raising his eyebrows.

I smirk at him.

"Well, I have a key. " I showed him the key at the same time. "You may have forgotten that the company owns that racing track. You know race car gear and whatnot are my family's business, " he sighed.

"Yes I know. I hope you at least call me if you want to train in the morning. It's not just you. " I just shrugged my shoulders.

"By the way, that's what I was asking earlier. I don't know if you have heard of it. Why are the employees busy? It was as if grandpa suddenly made them do something. " We stopped walking and he turned to me.

"Your grandfather is having a welcome party. I don't know what and who he is welcoming. I just heard from your older brother and your dad's conversation earlier. Someone wants to collaborate with his company, so your grandfather immediately accepted the offer. That's why, " he whispered.

I just nodded at what he said, and we were in front of the elevator to go to the 15th floor where Brother Randy's office had been moved.

When the elevator door opened, that's when my grandfather and I looked at each other. The expression on his face had not changed. He is still serious and strict. His two men were behind him, Danny bowed to him in greeting and respect.

"I'm sorry, Chairperson. Red and I will ride in the other elevator. " Danny apologized to him.

One of his men stopped the elevator door from closing.

"You two get in here, Red and I have something to talk about, " he said.

So the two of us entered, awkwardness enveloped the inside of the elevator. The 15th floor is still a bit far since we came from the 2nd floor.

"Weren't you told there was a welcome party going on today? " he began.

I sighed before I answered him.

"No, I heard from Danny that you are preparing a welcome party. " Danny was quiet next to me and I don't know if he was nervous because the two of us rode the elevator with my grandfather.

He looked at me carefully as if he was looking at my clothes.

"Get dressed before you go to the function hall. "he said coldly.

"Don't worry chairperson, I will get dressed after I go to my brother's office, " I replied.

The elevator rang, signaling that we were on the 15th floor. We didn't realize that we had reached this floor.

"W-We are going ahead, Chairperson, "Danny said nervously.

He bowed until the elevator door closed.

When the elevator finally closed, he slowly stood up straight. And he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Your grandfather is really different, Red. It was scary to go with him. " I raised one eyebrow at him.

"What are you afraid of there? He's a human too. "He shrugged.

"In the matter. "

We are now in front of Kuya Randy's office door. Danny knocked before opening the door. I saw him tidying his desk.

"Good morning, boss! " Danny happily greeted him.

"Good morning to you too, Danny. " he greeted back.

"Hey Red! Good morning, you came here early, huh?" A small smile appeared on my face.

"Morning, elder brother. " I greeted him, he surveyed my appearance for a second.

"You're wearing your suit, do you have a training schedule today? " He asked curiously.

"She doesn't have a training schedule because she has a photo shoot later for a famous perfume brand." Danny groins in to my brother's question.

"She gate crashed this morning at the racing track for training. I don't know why your sister thought of training early. I hope she calls me if she wants to train early so I can take care of her."He added, his brother shook his head.

"You're becoming a reprimand, Red. " I laughed weakly.

"Brother, I was just unwinding earlier. That's not a big deal, right? "He shrugged his shoulders.

"As a matter of fact. "He reached for the cup of coffee and drank it.

"By the way,there was a welcome party up there. Is that all you wear? Grandpa will scold you like that." I sat in the chair in front of his desk.

"He already scolded me, brother. I have spare clothes in the car. "

"So, are you still going downstairs to change? " I nodded.

"Let's go upstairs first, Red. The welcome party starts at eight o'clock. Don't be late, " he said.

Danny is helping him move to his wheelchair. They went to the party upstairs first and I went down to the basement where the cars were parked.

Good thing I had an office-style dress with me, so it's okay for the welcome party that will be held upstairs.

Fifteen minutes before eight o'clock, luckily, I was able to enter the function hall before the welcome party started.

There was also an employee who greeted me when I entered.I sat at the farthest table when I saw that grandfather had gone up to the small platform that looked like a small stage.

Brothers Randy and Danny were sitting in the front of the platform.But I still saw them. Grandpa started to speak in front. It's about the struggles and challenges of the company.I didn't listen to the others, until grandpa called the new investor who would join our company.

My eyes widened when I saw who that man was. It's been a few years. We haven't met and I can't believe that he is here.

His facial features are more defined and his body has matured. I can't believe a guy like him is so handsome now.

"Let's welcome, Justine Chua. " the employees gave him a round of applause.

'Justine Chua? ' thoughts in my mind.

He smiled and thanked the employees, he also gave a short speech to us. Our eyes met while talking, so I immediately avoided it. Also, because my heart was beating fast, I didn't expect to be admired by the change in his life.

After a short speech and introduction, the employees gathered to partake.

While I was getting a salad from the buffet, I was surprised when he appeared from behind me.

"Hey Red! long time no see, How are you? " he says, even though the state of his life has changed, his street manners are still there. But he is still happy with her.

I smiled at him,

"It's okay, you? Naks, we are getting rich, huh. " I joked to him.

He scratched the back of his neck and his cheeks were red.

"No, it's just a coincidence, "he said shyly.

Justine and I were classmates in college. He is an orphan and lives with his aunts.He supported himself while studying.

"How did your last name become Chua? Wasn't your last name Hilario then? " I asked him, while eating.

"Well,Fate is really playful, Red. I did not even expect this to happen to me. When we graduated from college, I applied to a company called Chua Corporation. There I became my biological mother's secretary. At that time, his daughter, who is my biological sister, had an accident. The hospital doesn't have a blood supply and mommy can't take blood because she just got back from surgery. So I presented to be a donor because my sister's blood type is the same as mine. " he said.

"-Mommy has just been circumcised there, so there is no doubt that we will do a DNA test. And then the results came out that she is my mother. It's just sad that daddy is gone because of the accident that happened to us. That was also my loss. Mommy's story also matched how my adoptive parents saw me. So this is my life now, suddenly rich. " he said and laughed at the same time.

The whole time of the party we just talked until it was announced that the employees had returned to their respective jobs.

I also said goodbye to him because I also had to leave for my shoot scheduled for this afternoon. He even offered to give me a ride but I refused because maybe he and grandpa would talk about business.

"Do you still have a schedule for your shoot tomorrow? "He asked.

"Nothing, I'll just train tomorrow morning. " I answered him.

"Are you free for lunch tomorrow? " I smiled.

"Yes, why? "

His hands were in his pants pockets.

"I just wanted to invite you to lunch, just the two of us. "Without a second thought, I nodded in response to him.

It was like he was pricked by a thorn when I agreed.

"Well, then, I will go ahead. I'll see you tomorrow at lunch. " He waved at me before I entered the elevator. When the elevator door closed, I heard grandpa's voice calling him. I didn't even hear what grandpa said to him because the elevator I was riding in started going down.

When I got to the basement, I immediately got into my car and sped away.
