Chapter 6 Unwelcoming words

Adrianna was arranging her kid's clothe, it been a while since she applied for the receptionist post and deep down in her mind she hopes she doesn't get it so she won't go back to where her pains started. "Humph!" She breathed out bitting her lower lips.

Then a beeped on her phone made her jerk back to reality, she swipe to the message and a big shock appeared on her face. "Approved?" She asked talking to no one in particular "Wow! It was approved!" She suddenly found herself smiling.

"Does this mean it might be accepted?" She shook her head to the thought "I don't think so, I don't even want to work in Gwen city," She mumbled and resumed folding the clothe.

Then her phone beeped once again, "Wh-" her words got cut off when she checked the message, "Accept?" She almost screamed and her eyes narrowed.

"I was accepted!"She jubilates but her face fell when she remembered the location, Gwen City. That's where her pain began but her eyes fell on her kids,playing with the neighbor kids outside.

"If I want to go back there it's for them, I can't let my personal feelings seize their happiness and education," She told herself and right at that moment she decided to go back.

"Ah!" One of the kids cried out, she sprang up on her feet to see what happened, "It hurts," the young girl cried as she looked down on the bruise on her kneel and cheek.

Adriana pinched her eyebrows in confusion, what just happened? She looked at her kids, Scott was glaring at the kid furiously and no one need to tell her who did it, "Scott, what happened?" She asked glaring back at Scott then briefly glanced at Scarlett and Skyler who was looking down.

None of them talked, "I'm talking to you all, Speak up!" Adrianna yelped while the little girl that got hurt ran to her mother. Adrianna took her lips in and ran her fingers into her hair, she's been going through lot and her kids decided to add up to it.

She lowered to their level and breathed out, "Tell me, what happened? Who hurt that little girl?" She asked the three, staring deeply into their brown eyes.

"I did,mummy,"Scott finally spoke up and Adrianna threw her head back in frustration, she turn back her head to them with a smile instead.

"I know you didn't do it for no reason, why? Why did you hurt the kid?"

"She started it," Scarlett chip in and Adrianna look at her "She called us fatherless," Scarlett blurted out in sad tone and Adrianna raised an eyebrow.

"What?"

"Yes mummy, she said our dad is dead and that makes us fatherless," Skyler added and Adrianna swallowed hard nervously then search through her kid's eyes, one could imagine the pains of those insulting words.

"Where did she get that lie from-"

"And what did you do to my daughter you wench!" A woman yelled from behind cutting off what Adrianna wanted to say.

She's the woman of the kid Scott hurt, she was fuming hard.

Her (Adrianna) kids went behind her scared, she stood up looking at the woman and now she knows where her daughter got the horrible lie she told her kids from, "Are you the one who has been telling your daughter lies?" She snapped right away, she folded her arms across her chest.

The woman scoffed, "what lie? Don't accuse me young lady!" She shrieked with an eye roll. "And there's no lie in whatever my daughter said, it's all true!"

Adrianna shook her head with a chuckle, "seeing that you didn't even bother to ask what lie your daughter told have proven to me that you're the one spreading the rumors," She fired at her with a deadly glare then move closer to her, almost in a whisper, "I don't want to hear that from you nor your kid! My kid's father is out of your business!"

"What will you do? The best you can do is leave this town! Everyone in this town wants you out!" The woman yelled, Adrianna narrowed her eyes shocked by her statements.

Adriana bat her eyelashes, "what do you mean by that?" Her voice became low and shaky. Everyone one wants her out? What does it mean?

The woman laughed, "Oh, you don't know? The entire village think of you as a bad luck ever since you step your foot into this town! Your responsibility killed Hilda!"

The last harsh words of the woman caught Adrianna off guard, she never expected it. She thought everyone welcomed her and loved her but...no?

"What..." She was short of words as tears rolled out of her eyes, the woman shook her head and with that she left with her kid.

Adrianna stood there lost and shattered, her tears flew out like water. Her kids joined her also, they started popping out tears.

(The Airport)

"You actually see me off, really? I wouldn't have believed it if someone else told me, you know you're always busy," Gilbert tease as he process his ticket. "Thanks man," He muttered.

Miguel rolled his eyes, "Whatever, I just wanted to be sure none of your bitches doesn't come at me when you gone," Miguel muttered while the both of them laughed.

Gilbert took his ticket and they walked towards to where the plane will take off, "I will back though," He said and Miguel nod.

"Don't go impregnate over there, I'm not ready to be an uncle," Miguel utter sarcastically while they laughed over it.

"Okay! I need to leave now, bye buddy!" Gilbert waved and with that he left.

"Bad guy," Miguel mumbled with a smirk, he was about going back to his car when his cell phone buzz. It's an alarm about his regular checkup with his doctor.

"Fuck! I almost forget about it," He hasn't put back his phone into his pant pocket when it started ringing.

"Dad?" He called out the caller's ID, he pick up afterwards. "Yes?"

"Get home, now."
