Chapter 10 10. Nosebleed

"Well, I can try to make this case property damage. So, Miss Grace doesn't have to pay any compensation." Said the female nurse who accompanied the plumbers. She glanced at Adro and smiled.

"Thank you for your kind help, Ms." Adro bowed slightly, placing his hand on his lower chest.

"It's nothing. It looks like you're not from here, are you?" The nurse asked before clearing her throat, while everyone in the room looked at her in disgust.

Adro nodded. "I come from a faraway land."

"I see. No wonder you're so polite," She said with a chuckle.

"I think you should excuse yourself if you're finished. My friend needs to get enough rest. She is an injured patient." Sarah interrupted the unimportant conversation with an emphasis on words.

Glancing at Sarah with narrow eyes, the nurse cleared her throat and said, "Then we'll take our leave."

"Th-thank you, everyone," Grace said.

"Dammit! They're so annoying!" Sarah cursed.

"Sarah, you don't need to pay anything. If they ask for compensation, I will be the one who has to pay." Grace tugged at Sarah's sleeve.

Sarah grinned wide. "I was just bluffing them. There's no need to worry,"

"Sarah, don't talk as if something like this has never happened before. Remember the time when you told me not to worry, but at the end, you secretly compensated for the mall's glass door that I broke?" Grace asked.

"Oh, I just remembered! I have to go now. I forgot that I have dinner with my parents." Sarah glanced at the gold-plated watch around her wrist.

Grace looked at Sarah with a flat expression. She knew she was just changing the topic. Sarah was kind and loyal to her friends, to the point that Grace often felt uncomfortable with her excessive kindness. However, Grace understood that it was Sarah's love language to her friends since everyone had different ways of showing their affection.

"By the way..." Grace realized something. "Why didn't Bella come? Didn't you say you would come here with her?"

"Oh, she said she forgot that today was her boyfriend's mom's birthday, so she had to come to the party," Sarah answered, then sighed loudly while shaking her head. "That girl... What kind of friend is she actually?"

Grace chuckled as she grabbed Sarah's hand and held it. "Hey... She's been dating Roy for five years. It's just normal that he's very important to her. They're also going to get married straight after graduation, right? Besides, I only suffered minor injuries, not in critical condition or a coma."

Sarah glanced at Grace in annoyance. "And you always defend her." Then she let out a long sigh as she took her bag from a chair. "I have to go now, Grace. Recover quickly, okay?"

Grace nodded. "I will. Thank you, Sarah. Safe drive,"

"Thank you for the clothes and food, ms-" Adro's word was interrupted when Grace elbowed him a little in the waist. "-Sarah,"

Clearing his throat, Adro cursed himself for almost causing trouble again. He was too used to calling a young woman 'Ms' because it was mandatory in his kingdom as a form of politeness for women.

Sarah waved her hand, but suddenly she stopped walking and turned her back to look at Grace and Adro, who were still looking at her in confusion. "Wait a minute..."

Stepping closer to them, Sarah narrowed her sharp eyes and asked Adro, "Are you still waiting here? Aren't you going home?"

The man immediately turned to Grace and gave a confused stare, hoping that she understood that he didn't know what to answer.

Grace turned her face from Adro to Sarah. That one girl was indeed full of suspicion and critical. "So, Sarah ... Actually, Adro is having personal problems in his hometown, so he ran away to this city because I was the only one who could help and look after him. Since he hasn't had time to find a place to live and I suddenly had an accident, he will be waiting for me here."

"You're a grown man, but have to be looked after?" Sarah looked at Adro with furrowed brows.

"Sarah, Adro is two years younger than me. Don't look at his tall, big body. Actually, he's still a kid," Grace chuckled stiffly.

"As a brother who has been helped by Grace, I must express my gratitude by accompanying her here. Does that bother you?" Adro asked Sarah, nailing his flat gaze deeply into her eyes.

Sarah cleared her throat and answered, "Of course not. I'm just a little curious and worried about my friend. Well, then, bye." She turned and stepped out. The sound of her heels clicking on the vinyl floor.

'I can't believe that man is Grace's relative. After all, even though he is, they are too distant relatives. Well, I know there's nothing wrong with it, but why do I feel there is something odd about them?' Sarah thought as she walked down the hospital corridor.

"I'm really sorry about Sarah. She's a little bit critical," Grace said to Adro.

"You don't have to. It seems like she cares about you a lot. You're lucky to have a friend like her," Adro replied as he sat back down in the chair.

"Sarah isn't usually that critical," Grace muttered.

"Anyways, Adro, I'll probably go to the operating room in about an hour. During that time, you have to wait here alone. Is that okay?" Grace asked.

"Sure. Need not worry," Adro smiled.

Seeing that, Grace could only smile wryly. 'You can say that after breaking the faucet to cause a commotion throughout the ward. Now I'm even more hesitant to leave you here alone,'

"If it is not much, do you mind if I dry my tunic here? It's a little wet because it was splashed with water earlier." Adro brought Grace out of her reverie.

"Oh, you're right. Your T-shirt does look a bit wet. Please dry it or you might catch a cold," Grace nodded.

"Thank you," Adro said before grabbing the bottom hem of his t-shirt and pulling it up.

Jaws hanging down, Grace was in awe at the incredible sight before her. She wasn't sure what kind of exercise Adro usually did that made his muscle structure look like the most beautiful and deadly hills and ravines in the world. He had a body shape that could make all women die from nosebleeds!
