Christie glared at them, the substance had already settled down.
"Did you really think I would trust you wholly? You are a criminal," Elena told. Christie smiled, she has got a lot of connections and she could get rid of the tracker anytime.
This wasn't the first time a bio-microscopic tracker was infused into her system and blood stream. But she will just play this people's little game.
"I will just correct you there, in my entire career as a spy and con artist, I have never hurt innocent people. I never hurt weak civilians, I only do jobs against those with crook ways," Christie responded.
"Like yourself?" Rodriguez pointed out and Christie scoffed.
"No matter how you want to justify your crimes, they are still crimes. The tracker will be extracted from your body once the job is done," Elena added.
Christie was soon set free, the NSA HQ establishment was in the mountains and so, Christie was taken to a helicopter which flew her out of the mountains and towards the city.
The city which she was born in, the city which she grew up in, the city which she lost everything, the city where she experienced both the happiest and saddest moments and most of all, the city which she lost her soul to.
...
Christie was dropped at a random location, by the NSA agents that escorted her.
She found her way home, by herself.
When she got to her apartment's parking lot, several thoughts began to run across her mind.
Why don't she just get rid of the tracker and ditch the NSA.
She walked inside the building. Ignoring the greetings of the receptionist, she walked towards the elevator and entered, going to her apartment which was situated upwards.
She soon stood before the double sided door leading to her apartment. She entered the passcode.
Beep!
She walked in and her heart really jumped out of her ribcage, when she turned on the light and saw special Lieutenant Brian Ridley sitting comfortably on her couch.
Talk about ditching...
Does the tracker maybe enable the NSA to hear her thoughts as well? That's impossible and ridiculous.
"What the hell man?" Christie told, recovering from the fright.
"So this is where you live, Ms. Whisper," he started.
"What are you doing here? How did you even get in here?" Christie questioned.
"You are a spy and con artist, haven't you heard of bypassing? It was pretty easy. Well, I'm here to secure the NSA's interest, making sure you won't double cross us," he answered.
"Why would I? I don't want to get eliminated by the tracker," Christie played along.
"Well, good thing you remembered," Brian replied.
He stood up and placed a card on the table, "My number and address are on it, give me a call or pay me a visit to report to me on the case unless... you want me to keep showing up at your place like this,"
"I will leave you now to get some rest, so that you can get to work on the job, Ms. Whisper and, give me a name would you? Something that's not deadly whisper," he added.
"Christie," she told him. Not because she felt compelled or obligated to, but because she just wanted the prick out of her apartment.
He smiled at her and started walking away, till he was out of her apartment.
Christie sighed and slumped on the couch. She didn't rest for too long, she too wanted to bring down the Vistlon family after all.
She freshened up and had a light meal, then with her snacks by her side, she started doing some digging.
What's the best way she could infiltrate the Vistlon family? Should she infiltrate their home, their legal business or their underworld?
First and foremost, the Vistlon family consist of Mr. Rex Vistlon and his family which were his wife and three children.
His wife and children were Mrs Juliet Vistlon, his wife, and his children were Alexa and Eric Vistlon who were fraternal twins and the eldest, with their younger sister, Alice Vistlon. And they were all aware of the illegal activities of their family.
In fact, from her findings, Alexa Vistlon who was the eldest among the fraternal twin was put in charge of the family's business both legal and that of the syndicate.
But he focuses more on the legal business, Vistlon Corp. which was the major legal business empire of the Vistlons. He was the face and CEO of the company, while his younger twin brother, Eric Vistlon helps him in managing the mafia business.
Meanwhile, their younger sister just got into college.
After hours of researching and scheming, Christie finally landed at the perfect plot. She is going to infiltrate their legal business. How?
Just her luck, Alexa Vistlon, CEO of Vistlon Corp. was currently in search for a secretary and PA.
'Now this would be fun,' Christie grinned to the thought.
DING DONG!
Her doorbell rang. Who must that be?
Christie stood up from the couch she was sitting on and she walked towards the door to get it.
When she opened it she saw her long time acquaintance, Katherine McNamara, standing in front of her.
"Katie?" Christie voiced, a little surprised to see her.
"Christie," Katie jumped on her.
"What are you doing here?" Christie asked.
"Let me in first," Katie pouted. So Christie opened the door wider for her to come in and Katie walked in with all her luggage.
"What is all this?" Christie asked, once she had closed the door.
"I came to live with you," Katie beamed.
Christie felt the urge to face palm herself.
"I don't have time for this Katie, I got a job at hand. A good one, it's what I have been waiting for all along," Christie told.
"Taking down the Vistlon. (Gasps) Already? I mean it has been years though but now. (Gasps again) Don't worry, I won't disturb or distract you, you wouldn't even know that I'm here and I can even help you out," Katie responded.
Katie has been her friend since Christie saved her life. At first it was a one sided friendship as Christie only thought of it as her doing her job because her family had hired Christie to rescue Katie from their rival syndicate group who had kidnap her.
"I don't need your help and I doubt that you won't distract or disturb me," Christie replied.
Katie was the only daughter of a rich mafia family in the country, her only siblings were two elder brothers who never ceased in filling her bank account.
This made her to be...yes, a rich spoilt brat, who doesn't know how it is to work but only knows how it's like to waste money on worthless things.
But other than her carefree, hooligan and spendthrift characteristics, Katie wasn't that bad of a person and that's why for a long time now, she was the first person Christie has learned to trust and care about.
She was able to creep her way into Christie's heart and soon the friendship was no longer one sided as Christie opened up to her.
"Oh c'mon, is that how you welcome your only friend who has been out of the country for a long while? I just missed you so much and that's why I'm here. Please Christie, I promise you won't regret it," Katie pleaded with puppy eyes which Christie won't be able to resist.
"Fine. But I can't mess this up, I have been waiting for this all my life. Katie, something happened and somehow I got arrested by the NSA-"
"The NSA?!" Katie exclaimed interrupting Christie.
"Yes and instead of taking me to jail, we had a negotiation and surprisingly, they too want to take down the Vistlon family as they are also suspecting them of mafia activities," Christie continued.
"So now, you have the NSA to back you up?" Katie uttered.
"Yes, in exchange for my freedom, they want me to be their mole in the Vistlon family. I will use them and their protection for the meantime, but at some point I'm going to betray them.
"Because what they want is to find something that will incriminate the Vistlons, so that they can be brought to justice. But what I want is to completely cripple the Vistlons, then finish them all off, afterwards. So first, I need to find a way to infiltrate their world," Christie told.
"Well how?" Katie questioned.
Christie grinned, "I gotta get a job."
