Chapter 9 Twist of Fate

Rishi's POV

" Rishi, listen this is too risky a day. If anyone saw us here, we might have to face the worst . " I heard Ram's whispering.

This guy is such a pain in the ass, he's constantly saying the same thing again and again and making my ear bleed by his sore voice.

Why did I even bring him with me ? Now, I'm regretting life decisions.

I thought if he accompanied me I'll climb up her room easily but here this dumb head is trying every possible way to stop me.

" Ram, I brought you to help me, not to scare me. ``I mumbled gazing at her room balcony, I could see the brightness on her balcony curtains. That means they're still awake. Lowering myself from the compound wall of the girls hostel, I sat on my bike. While Ram stood there holding the bike's handle with a pout.

" I have heard that this girl's hostel warden is very strict, she will eat us alive today. Please for god sake listen to me. Let's go back, you can meet her Tomorrow too ." And once again he again opened his mouth for nothing, just to blambare .

I ignored his words like girls ignore boys DM's and turned my head around to see whether the girls slept or not, my bad lights were still on.

Such irresponsible girls !! It's eleven at night and they're still awake.

I mean I've been waiting here, outside of her hostel for the past one hour to sneak inside her room. But these girls are being hurdled now.

And above that, I have carried a walking headache with me.

There he comes again !

" Rishi if someone caught us, then " this time before he could complete his sentence I cut him off in the middle and spoke.

" Not a word, shut up. Just ...shut up da. Why are they so cowardly ? I'm here right ? For the past hour we have been standing at the backside of the girls hostel. Did anyone see us ? No, right ? Then hereafter also no one will notice us just keep quiet now. Or otherwise leave from here But i won't return back, until complete the task which i took into my hand. " I told him firmly, I'm already annoyed due to waiting for so long, and this idiot is adding fuel to that.

Ram shook his head, and stood there silently, wrapping his arms around his torso he avoided looking at me. He seems upset with me, chewing his inner lips Ram rolled his eyes.

" If you think you're looking cute by making faces then let me tell you , No. You're looking disgusting. " I told him with a poker face.

Ram mumbled something under his breath while looking at the hostel. I'm sure he must be cursing me for making him wait for no reason.

Suddenly his eyes widened while looking at the girls hostel, " hey, the lights went off means girls must be asleep. " He jeered.

Hearing what he said, I jumped out of happiness, umm no. I jumped down from my bike.

" Let's go " and Ram went near the compound wall and looked at our surroundings for a quick check if someone's there or what.

When we didn't find anything suspicious, I looked at Ram who was already looking at me in anticipation.

Getting my intention Ram bent down till he could touch his feets, without wasting any further seconds I stepped on his back. Climbing up the wall with the help of Ram I jumped in. Stumbling on my feets i balanced myself and stood there. In a few seconds Ram placed a plastic bag in which I had kept a parcel for her. Grabbing that plastic cover I began to walk in Anu's balcony direction.

Thanks to the darkness of night which helps me to roam freely here.

Flexing a quick analysis around me, I walked to Anu's balcony side, as I thought a carry bag was already hanging in the air, which was tied with a rope on balcony relaying, like every Indian person does when they're living in apartments.

Putting the parcel in the carry bag, I looked around before climbing the pipe which led to the balcony.

Slowly, without getting nervous, I climbed the pipe with difficulty and finally reached the balcony.

Huffing with the relief of a safe landing, I pulled the rope leisurely. As soon as I carried my bag from ground floor to first floor I grabbed it and took out my parcel from it.

Now, till here fifty percent of the mission is done. Rest depends on how she reacts seeing me here.

Running my fingers in my hair, I made sure about my look as I don't like to appear with messy hair in front of her. Impression always does good on people.

Grabbing my phone from my jeans pocket, I dialled her number. She didn't pick up till three calls. Probably sleeping?

And when she picked my call in the fifth ring I blurred out before she asked anything.

" Hello, I'm here outside of your balcony, come and open the door for me, and yes don't make any noise. Be quick. By '' saying this in go i ended the call, because i know if i didn't then she would have asked me a million questions.

Tapping my foot on the floor , I waited for her impatiently.

In a few seconds I heard the door clicking, and there she came with her messy bun and cute spec's.

" What the hell Rishi, what are you doing here " she whispered glaring at me with her big eyes.

Looking around she made sure on one sees us, my girl is smart.

" I'll tell you everything in detail, first let's go to your room " I said , holding her hands.

" No way, get out. Now " she whispered every word specifically shooting bullets with her orbs.

" Okay than your wish, saying this I walked inside pushing her away. Anu came behind me running in small steps.

" Wait , where are you going? " She asked in a husky voice while holding my hand to stop me.

" To the main door, you were the one who told me to leave right? " I asked her, raising my eyebrows.

" You came by balcony right ? " She asked me, gazing at me from top to bottom.

" Yeah, but now I'm not in the mood to go down by the pipes, let me just use the main door baby. " I sounded a little dramatic. I know it's a kind of blackmailing but what can I do when she behaves like a grandma.

" You.... follow me. And behave. " She warned me before walking to her room, grinning like a kid. I followed her silently without making any noise.

I saw two girls sleeping on the couch in the hall, holding the parcel near my chest. I went inside Anu's room.

As soon as I went in, Anu closed the door and looked at it too.

Great, now my task will be easier.

" Rishi...." She was about to put piles of enquiries in front of me, but I stopped her from talking by covering her mouth with my right palms.

" Shhh, keep quiet for a few minutes. I know it's risky but I wanted to take this risk for you. For us. Don't worry I'll make sure no one catches us. Just enjoy the moment ''I assured her with my hopeful words. She nodded her head understanding my intention.

Slowly I took my palm from her mouth and led her to bed. Making her sit on the bed , I kept the parcel beside her and sat in front of her.

" Close your eyes " i told her

She opened her mouth to defeat but before she can speak i said " trust me "

With that she closed her eyes without questioning me. I wondered how much she trusts me.

Her messy hair, bare flawless skin and her cute spec's which always attract me. How do I even get this beauty ? I questioned myself.

'Bro, you literally eat her head up to accept you as a boyfriend' my mind mocked me.

' Shut up, it was you. I never stalk girls.It's just I had to bring out her love, which she kept buried inside her. ' i defeat myself remembering how i fell for Anu.

Smiling smugly, I opened the parcel and arranged the things presentable.

" Now open your eyes " I cheered up.

Anu opened her eyes and smiled at me. " Happy Birthday Anu " I wished her while holding the mini cake infront her.

Anu looked at him surprisingly, she constantly looked at him and the mini cake in his hand.

Smiling nervously i said " umm....sorry i thought mini cake would be easy to carry as i had to sneak inside your room "

I told her the fact.

" Idiot thank you for the surprise, to be honest I didn't expect this. Thank you so much. You really made my b'day special " Anu smiled and joyed out of happiness.

Her eyes were glossy and sparkling in joy, I felt satisfied knowing she really meant those words.

It's been a year since we've been in a relationship, and it's her first birthday after we got into a relationship. So I wanted to make it special and memorable for both of us. And frankly i wanted to wish her first over everybody else, and at this moment i felt to be with her. That's why I took the risk of climbing the girls hostel. I'm very well aware of the consequences of getting caught, yet I took the Risk. Just for her . Because she means the world to me.

It's not only about her looks and appearance. It's about her soul which captivates me inside her heart, she is something that I can't explain by words. When I first met her I never thought I would fall for her so hard. But I did.

" Let's cut the cake, " I said and handed her a mini knife. She gradually took it from me and closed her eyes to murmur something, while I sang the happy birthday line in repeated mode for her.

Opening her eyes she looked at me and splashed a smile before blowing the candle,

Cutting the cake, she took a bite of it and moved her hand near my lips , but I took the cake piece from her hand and made her eat first. She ate it without defending, and took another piece of cake and fed me.

" Happy Birthday, love " I said for the nth time.

" Thank you " she looked down while adjusting her hair behind her ear.

Placing the rest of the cake on the table beside the bed, I sat near her without leaving a gap. She looks up feeling my presence.

Taking her hand into mine I gazed at her face, which was covered with curiosity.

I began to kiss the back of palm along with her fingers. She tried to pull off her hand due to shyness but I never let go of her hand. Maintaining intense eye contact with her, I slid the ring in her finger, which I bought for her. I always wanted to give her something, but Anu being a pride girl never accepts gifts without proper reason and occasions. This habit of hers kinda irritates me. As a boyfriend I wanted to buy her so many things, but I couldn't. Yet I have to agree and respect her feelings too. So I never questioned her. But this time, chance and custom both were on my side. So I used it.

" I love you, and that means you're forever mine. Only mine ''I started with pride. Her cheeks turned into crimson red hearing my deep voice.

I like when she blush, but I love it even more when the reason behind her blushing is me.

" This is my first gift to you, never take this off. okay ''I husked in her ears, for which she nodes like an obedient baby.

" I think, by now you should have kissed me " I said looking at her, Anu's face lost its all colours when I mentioned the kiss.

" What ? I'm serious, okay. It's been a year now and till now we never went ahead of hugging. I mean don't I deserve a kiss ? " I asked her, showing my puppy eyes.

" You deserve the word Rishi, but not a kiss " she said, showing her tongue.

" Is that, let me try " saying this i caught her in my arms while she wriggled to get out of my hold but failed as my grip was strong.

Holding her face between my palms, I forward myself and stopped just in Inch gap from her lips. Anu's wide eyes and heavy breaths were on rhythm. Eventually she closed her eyes hoping my lips on her but what I'm going to do is beyond her expectation.

Rubbing her nose with mine, I placed a gentle kiss on her forehead and loosened my grip on her.

Anu opened her eyes when she felt my lips on her forehead. Her questionable look got me.

" I know, you're still not ready for that level of closeness, don't worry. I won't rush for anything. I'll wait for you, Anu. For now this is enough, maybe I'll expect a kiss on my lips as my bday gift so... " I trailed down gazing at her changing expressions.

Abruptly Anu hugged me with all her might, I stumbled on bed due to her sudden force. Wrapping my hands around her, I too hugged her back.

Ouch ! My girl got emotional.

" love you...soooo much, remember one thing never ever leave me. Even if I say, just don't leave me. " She whimpered, hiding her face in my chest.

Chuckling at her act, I mouthed sweet words in her ears to stop her crying. B'day baby shouldn't shade tears.

But she continued her mantra of " never ever leave me " her unconditional love makes me go crazy.

" Never ever leave me "

" Ahhhhhhhhhh" roaring in agony. I took a hold of a flower vase and threw it on the floor. The base broke into pieces just like myself , who is broken beyond repair.

Her voice still echoes in my ear, giving me a feeling of standing on burning fire.

Ever since I woke up from my sleep, this nightmare of hers is killing me alive. Walking inside the bathroom I stood in front of the mirror. Gazing at my own self which seems too weak.

I loved her enough to allow her to break me, betray me, and leave me. Whenever i remember her face all i want is to erase her memories from my heart, she destRishis me. Totally. And now I'm in a living hell, it seems like I'm stuck here. I can't go back to my past, nore I'm able to accept my present. This is so fucking frustrating.

No matter if your memories are good or bad, it will always hurt you and chase you away from your happiness.

She was a stranger who entered into my life and became my everything. After making me habitual of her, she left me in pieces. Now this proves that, Every stranger who you meet in different phases of your life, has the power to change your whole life.

It's been many years now, so why am I still stuck in the same path where she left me ?

They say time heals everything, then why am I not Healed yet ? Why am I still not able to move on from her?

Why ?

Every day, every minute I'm acting, I'm portraying myself as if I have moved on from her, when it's not.

I hate to accept this, but it's the truth.

I still love her.

I still love her, who broke my trust and later broke my soul too.

" I hate you Miss. Ananya for making my life into living hell. " Looking in the mirror I said pressing every word with hatred and pain.
