A few days ago, before Revandra left for America, he asked his friend for help to find out about Aliya's background because he didn't want the girl's family to come one day and take her away. Especially now that a father's feelings for his stepdaughter have changed, and even though for fifteen years no one has looked for Aliya's whereabouts, Revandra is still determined to find out.
Revandra waited for Andre's arrival for quite a long time. He couldn't wait any longer because he find out about the origins of his stepdaughter. Only with the bracelet that Aliya's mother was wearing when she met him. Soon he will also know the reason why Aliya's biological mother took Aliya and wanted to marry Revandra.
It didn't take long, Andre had arrived. The handsome, sweet black man immediately entered Revandra's room after Revandra invited him in. Andre sat on the sofa.
"What did you get?" Revandra's impatience was evident on her face.
"Can't you give me a drink first?" Andre protested.
"I didn't call you here to make small talk. So, what do you get? Hopefully, you don't disappoint me." Revandra's gaze intensified. Revandra glared at Andre with such intensity that it seemed as if he had an insatiable appetite for him. This made Andre snort once more, as he found Revandra's complete lack of patience both amusing and unnerving.
"Are you doubtful about my performance?" Andre was starting to get annoyed.
Revandra then let go of a little of his impatience, he leaned her back on the sofa, and returned to being calm without paying attention to Andre who was starting to get annoyed with his behavior.
"So, what did you get?" Revandra asked again. This time he asked a little better, not as tense as before.
Seeing that Revandra was still a little impatient, Andre immediately threw the folder containing the files onto the table. The folder he had been carrying for a long time. Andre actually really wanted to throw the folder straight at Revandra's cold, annoying face. However, everything is impossible because Andre still wants to live longer.
Revandra straightened his body, no longer leaning on the sofa. Only then did he take the folder. Without wasting time, he immediately opened the folder and looked at its contents. For a moment, he read every sheet in the folder carefully, then looked back at Andre.
"Are you sure this is true?" Revandra isn't sure yet.
"If you have any doubts, please find out for yourself! There's no need to ask for my help," Andre answered softly.
After examining the files, Revandra put them back in the folder.
"But what's the reason?" Revandra asked, still curious because the file Andre gave him didn't say why Aliya's mother left the house.
"I don't know, because so far there is only one woman who is often talked about in that family, no one discusses Aliya or her mother, and the bracelet you gave me for investigation purposes was specifically made for that family only," said Andre, emphasizing that he had obtained this information directly from the craftsman.Revandara narrowed his eyes hearing Andre's words.
"That means your job isn't finished, Andre. You have to get to the roots," said Revandra, not satisfied with what Andre got.
"Are you serious?"
"Yeah! Why would I play around with something like this."
"It's not like that. It's just, why are you so curious about this if you want to return Aliya to her family? Isn't what I gave you enough?" Andre asked, pointing to the folder containing files regarding Aliya's background data.
"You're wrong if you think I asked for your help to find out Aliya's background just to return her to her family! I'm actually afraid that one day someone will claim to be her family and take that little girl from me. She's mine, Andre. No one can take her from me," said Revandra, emphasizing his last sentence.
Andre, who heard every word Revandra said, was immediately shocked and gaping. For a moment he was silent. Just had the courage to ask to make sure that what Revandra said was not a joke.
"Y-you like your daughter, Revan?"
"Is it wrong?"
No, it's just that I'm surprised and can't believe that Revandra, who is thirty-five years old, perfect, cold, and always makes career women go crazy with his charm, even top artists, can actually like a little girl who is only nineteen years old. Aliya is indeed beautiful and no less than the women you have dated so far. However, how can you like your own daughter, Revan?
"She's not my daughter, Andre. She's a little girl that her mother brought when she married me. I raised her with my own two hands and also cared for her like my own daughter. However, after all, Aliya is not my biological daughter. She is not registered as my child in wherever. Data for school purposes also still uses data from her mother as a single parent. We did not register our marriage in court at all. So, there is no prohibition against me liking my stepdaughter.
Andre nodded his head, indicating that what Revandra said was true. But still Andre really didn't believe that Revandra had fallen in love with the little girl he raised with his own hands.
"So, what have you done all this time? Have you taught that innocent girl various things? Don't you feel guilty towards her mother, Revan?" Andre asked to be surer, making for a moment that Revandra was silent.
"At first I did feel guilty at that time. However, after being honest about my feelings, everything changed. Aliya didn't mind either. I think that girl also felt the same way as me," Revandra explained frankly to his friend. Andre is not only Revandra's business partner but also a trusted confidant with whom Revandra shares all his thoughts and grievances. Revandra also considers Andre to be a brother. "You won't understand, Andre. For fifteen years I raised Aliya, and suddenly these feelings changed just because I touched her accidentally," said Revandara, rubbing her face as she remembered the exciting night when she first touched Aliya. While Andre leaned forward. He was very curious about what Revandra was telling him. Then Revandra continued his words. "A part of me can't ignore it, Andre. I feel like what I did was right. Oh, it's that easy for me to throw away my status as a father. My male instincts were awakened just because of that little girl."
"Are you really serious, Revan?" Andre asked again. However, Revandra did not answer. Instead, he reclined against the sofa's backrest, gazing up at the ceiling of the hotel room.
"Argh! You know, Andre. Just imagining it makes me wake up," said Revandra.
