CHAPTER 5- Introductions

The cool early morning wind breezed through the windows and filled the room, slowly getting Ruby into consciousness.

She blinked her eyes open. As she yawned loudly, she looked around to see that she was on a bed in a decent room, but it obviously wasn't her room. She shielded her eyes against the rays of the morning sun that found its way through the room.

She couldn't tell where she was.

Slowly, memories of what happened the night before started flowing into her head...

She could remember getting kidnapped, but wondered why she was in such comfort - why she wasn't tied on a chair... Why she was kept in a decent and homey room. This was not the normal kidnappers treated their abductees...

She need to find out where she was. Ruby stood up gradually and quietly walked across the room to the door. She turned the knob in, but the door wouldn't budge. She was locked in.

"Hello?!! Who locked me in here?!! Open this door!!! Why am I here?!!", She screamed and kept banging the door until she was tired.

Frustrated that no one was answering, she fell to the ground and leaned her back on the door, panting from all that work.

In a couple of minutes, she heard footsteps walking towards the room. She stood up immediately and stared at the door, anxiously waiting to see who will come in. Surprisingly, she heard someone open the door with a key, but no one opened the door.She walked towards the door, opened it shakily and looked outside the corridor, but saw no one. She went down the stairs, looking around, if she'd see anybody. She got to the large living room, trying to find someone or something that would tell her where she was and explain her reason for being here.

Ruby's eye caught couple of photos lying on a cushion, and she picked it up. As she swapped one after the other, she saw a younger version of her dad in one of the pictures with a handsome looking man.

"Dad!" Ruby exclaimed shakily and surprisingly.

She felt the presence of a person right behind her. She immediately turned around, her hand raised in the air to strike the person as hard as she could, but her hand was caught by the person.

She stares at the person in shock.

It was the same handsome man she saw in the pictures with her dad, but he looked much older and even more handsome. He had the sharpest jawline, and the most beautiful eyes. He was fucking hot!

"Wh... Who are you? What do you want?", She stammered as she freed herself from the man's grip, trying hard not to drool or blurt out the fact that he was really handsome.

He put on an arrogant face to frighten Ruby but still looked very handsome and sexy.

"You know you shouldn't be hitting you captor, right?" He utterd, looking at Ruby. He also had very charming grey eyes.

"I don't even know you! Why did you kidnap me?! Why am I here?!", She questioned.

"My name is Raymond Reed. You must have seen your father and I in most of those pictures. That should tell you something. You're not here for what you did. You're here for what your father did to me!", He replied.

"And what did he do to you?", She questioned again, folding her arms

Raymond was baffled by her character. Did she not realize that she was kidnapped?

She looked pissed, and it somehow made her even prettier. He fancied that orange hue he saw in her eyes.

"Answer my question and stop staring at me! What did he do to you?!", She asked, getting pissed by his sudden stare.

"He betrayed me", he replied.

"How?"

"Did he ever tell you that he was into the mafia business?", he asked.

"Wh... what?", She gaped.

Her father never told her that he was a mafia member! What was this dude saying?!

"I can tell he didn't let you know. Well, many years ago, he was a former mafia ring leader, heading one of the biggest mafias in the city, at the time. I worked for him for years, and he betrayed me as payment. I told him that I would surely pay him back with evil. Now, I head my own mafia and can keep to my word. He's going to regret fucking with me", he snickered with an evil face.

"I don't believe anything you're saying!! You're a liar!! My dad would never-"

"Sir, you have a guest", one of the guards interrupted the conversation.

"Who's it?"

"Mr. Alfred, boss"

Raymond sighed. He wasn't ready to face Mr. Alfred. But he had to...

"Take her to her room and give her something to eat", he said and walked away.

"Wait... Get your hands off me! Tell me what did to betray you!!!", Ruby screamed and struggled, but the guard was too strong for her.

Mr. Alfred was one of Raymond's clients, he usually paid before delivery. But there was a concern. Raymond's cocaine Supplier had been in jail for some time. So, Raymond and his boys had to stay low-key until he'd be released.

The issue was, Raymond owed Mr Benson a huge amount of money for undelivered goods. Mr. Benson has been putting him under a lot of pressure to supply and didn't want to understand Raymond's situation.

"I'll see him alone, you boys should wait around for my signal," Raymond muttered before he went into the office.

"Yes Scar," His men replied.

Arriving in his special office, he saw Mr. Alfred comfortably seated with his legs crossed. Putting on a white suit, white and golden hat, white shoes, holding a golden staff and smoking a golden stick of Cigar.

"Hello Mr. Alfred I-" Raymond muttered but was rudely cut short by Mr Alfred.

"You have two weeks to deliver the goods, two weeks. That's all I came here to tell you. You know me. You've heard news of what I can do to who mess with me" Mr. Alfred warned Raymond sternly and walked out of the room with his bodyguards.

One of Raymond's men communicated with him from outside through eye contact, asking if they should open fire, but Raymond shook his head, saying not to.
