Chapter 8 Call Us Mom and Dad

Just as Sigrid was feeling dissatisfied, a big hand covered her fist as if to comfort her.

His palm was warm, as if it could calm her troubled heart.

Half an hour later, the car stopped at the gate of the Toland family's old house. When the two of them entered they saw that in the spacious living room that George's parents had been sitting there waiting.

Neither Mr. nor Mrs. Toland looked very pleased. Obviously, because of yesterday's change of bride, they were not very happy. They must have known why there had been a change of bride before the wedding.

Sigrid took a deep breath and was ready to be scolded, but she remained silent. After all, it was Rebecca who had cuckolded George before the wedding and so the responsibility fell on the Vincent family. If it was not handled well, one could not imagine the future of the Vincent family.

Sigrid did not dare to sit down. After George acknowledged his parents, Sigrid said in a low voice, "Hello uncle and auntie."

When Sigrid finished her greeting, Mrs. Toland frowned. The expression on her face scared Sigrid. She'd only said four words, and the auntie was so angry. It seemed that she was to be scolded very badly today!

"Whether you willingly married into our family or not, since you have married, you have to change the way you address us. Calling us uncle or auntie is unacceptable!" Mrs.Toland looked at Sigrid with unfriendly eyes. "Call us Mom and Dad!"

"Yes! Dad, Mom." Sigrid felt wronged. How could her brother-in-law's parents become her parents?

Mrs. Toland's face relaxed a little, "We have known the whole story. Your sister went too far this time and disrespected our Toland family. If there had still been any time left before the wedding, we would not have let such an awkward thing happen last night. But since we only found out right before the ceremony, we had no choice. Fortunately, you are a respectful and obedient girl. You have to behave yourself in the future. You can't act like your sister, understand?"

'That's it? No scolding? Didn't Rebecca bring humiliation to the Toland family that their anger was to be vented on her? She was ready to be badly scolded today,' Sigrid thought to herself.

"Why don't you talk? Are you dissatisfied with my words?" Mrs.Toland glared at her discontentedly. Why did her daughter-in-law react so slowly here?

"No, I'm not dissatisfied," Sigrid answered quickly.

"That's good. We haven't had a good talk about it before, so today I'll tell you the duties of a daughter-in-law of the Toland family."

Sigrid stood still, ready to hear her next instruction.

After a pause, Mrs. Toland said with a serious face, "First and most importantly, giving birth to a son."

"Okay... okay." Sigrid blushed and replied. But in her heart, she didn't want to make a baby with her brother-in-law at all!

Seeing that she was being so cooperative, Mrs. Toland nodded with satisfaction. "The rest is not very important. Just don't bring shame to the Toland family when you go out. These days, you must take the time to do a physical examination. If you have a health problem, address it quickly. I don't want my grandson to be unhealthy!
