Chapter 4 Abducted

As I was still going through the pictures, I saw the picture of the jerk that ruined my day for me. I won't deny the fact that he was sexy, but he was still a jerk, though.

"Ava, why do you have this man's picture?" I asked, waving the picture in front of her.

"Why do you ask?"

"This is the jerk I was telling you about, the one I slapped...." Before I could finish my sentence, Ava choked on the beer she was drinking, splashing it everywhere.

"You know that is so gross" I snapped, but she just ignored me and went ahead to take the picture from my head.

"This man?" she asked, pointing at the picture like I was mistaken or something.

"Yes," I confirmed.

"God! Evelyn! Do you know who this man is?" She all but yelled.

Ok, I don't know what she is getting to, but she is overrating. Not as if he was a god.

" This man in this picture is no other person but Sebastian Carter, the owner of the Diamond Pearl that I told you about". She must be kidding me. She saw the doubt on my face, so she rushed to her room and came back with her laptop.

She logged into it and went ahead to search for Sebastian Carter, and I couldn't suppress the gasp that made its way out of my mouth.

On the full screen, his picture was very visible there. How could someone so successful be such an ass?

I laughed awkwardly not knowing what to say or do,

" his chances of ever seeing me or running into me is probably zero"

What are you saying, Evelyn? You are not even sure of yourself.

"You may be right, is zero. But please try not to cause more trouble" she signed as she lazily walked back to her room.

"I will remember that" I muttered to no one in particular.

I went back to reading about him. He was quite young to be the owner of a company, and diamond pearl wasn't the only company he has. He has a lot more in different places.

For a 25-year-old guy, that was quite remarkable. I will give him that.

"How was your first lecture? Did you make any friends?" Ava asked as we walked towards the entrance of the school.

"It was more than I expected, what about you?"

"Please don't ask me. I slept throughout the class" she groaned, making me smile.

As we were talking about random kinds of stuff, a black Benz suddenly stopped in front of us, and from it, some men in black came and carried me into the car.

I was shocked, I didn't know that someone can be abducted even in the daytime.

I wonder who sent them. I haven't even spent up to a month here, and I have already been abducted by someone.

I was blindfolded, so I couldn't see where we were going. All I know is that they didn't manhandle or anything.

Even when the car came to a halt, they helped me get down gently.

I never knew kidnappers could be so gentle with their hostages.

I walked for some time before we entered into what, I assumed, was an elevator. When the elevator came to a halt, I was taken out of it and led to a place where I sat down.

Through all these scenarios, they never once manhandled me. Maybe that was why I didn't fight back. I'm not the type to keep calm when being treated the way I don't like.

I don't mean to be sentimental, but someone was asking for it.

When my blindfold was taken off my eyes, I first took in my environment, and I was currently sitting in a conference room with the last person I ever wanted to see in my life sitting at the far end of the table with that meg-watt smile I will so love to wipe off his face.

"We meet again, Mary," the idiot grinned. Why am I so unlucky with meeting people?

"You know, a normal person will start with' am sorry for abducting you without your permission, something like that"

"Perhaps I'm not that normal after all. And don't you think it is wrong to call me a kidnapper"?

"I didn't call you that. But to think of it, that is precisely what you are" I snarled, but he just smiled. So, he finds me and this situation funny?

"You got fire, I like it. Anyway, I apologise for taking you without your permission" he sighed.

"Abduct"I said, wanting to hear him acknowledge that he abducted me.

"Yeah, am sorry for abducting you"he said through clenched teeth.

"Umm now that wasn't so hard, was it?" I eyed, but he just smiled. If time isn't taken, I will gladly poke out those eyes.

"Why did you bring me here?" I asked, going straight to the point. Ava would probably be worried about me right now.

"I have a proposal to make with you". He took out a brown envelope, which he gave to a man who had been standing at the door the whole time. The man took the envelope and kept it in front of me.

"I reject," I said right away. I already hate whatever it is he wants to propose.

"You don't even know what my proposal is"

"That's why I am rejecting it right away because I don't want it to be my business. And once I know what the proposal is, it will become my business. And I don't want that"

He laughed. If he knew how much his laugh gets on my nerves, he would stop.

"You know, you are quite not what I expected"

"I get that a lot from people"

"Do you know what Haphephobia is?".

Psh! What part of 'I am not interested' does this man not understand?

"I told you I am not interested. And even if you tell me, I will still repudiate it"

"Then why are you still sitting down there? I'm a businessman, Evelyn, and I know when someone isn't interested in something and for the fact that you are still sitting down there, it means that you are very much interested" he said.

What an ass. He is too full of himself.

And what am I still sitting down here doing? Get your ass off the chair, Evelyn!

" That.that's...." I stuttered. I have never stuttered before anyone talkless of a man, so why now.

"Stop trying to lie, Evelyn, it doesn't suit you". He has been calling me by my name for a while, and I wonder how he knew it. Did he do a background check on me?

"Fine. Even though I listen, it won't still change my decision" I said, making myself clear.

" Sure. Whatever you say" he smiled but this time, not his meg-watt smile, but a mischievous one.
