Chapter 4 Leaving

"All right, then, let us marry. There will be no room for regret."

"..." says William.

"Do you think I'm joking with you?" he exclaimed.

Henry, apparently realising that William's demeanour was slightly out of control, chose not to use harsh words: "I'm not jesting..."

Before he could finish his sentence, he heard a knock on the door from outside. It was Robert, William's personal bodyguard.

"Mr. Wilson, Liam Miller is downstairs causing a commotion with journalists in order to break the story about your alleged assault."

Indeed, Liam's motivations and actions were eerily similar to those of his previous life. Although Henry would not harm William this time, the assault witnessed by many could become a scandal. If the journalists were allowed upstairs, William's emotional state would likely worsen.

Henry wanted to put some space between them so they could talk about a possible retreat, but before Robert could finish his sentence, William's fist whooshed past him and slammed into the wall. The punch was powerful, and Henry instinctively grabbed William's arm and turned on the light.

Henry was overcome with regret as the room filled with light. He should've noticed it earlier. He wincingly grabbed William's hand to keep him from moving. His mental state was deteriorating, and his face was as pale as a ghost following the emotional outburst. His normally attractive angular face had turned predatory, like a wolf, as he struggled to control himself. Sweat had soaked his clothes and hair. How had he managed to keep this agony at bay while they were talking?

Except for William, nothing else matters right now. "Where's your medication?" he asked anxiously as he steadied him.

"I won't let that man take you away, even if I'm in trouble. Don't even think about running away from me."

"I'm not fleeing from you. How can you be so envious at this time? We need to get out of here before the journalists arrive." Henry quickly interrupted, impressed by William's relentless jealousy and suspicion.

"Call the doctor to my house if there is truly no medication." We can't go to the hospital or the Wilson mansion because they're following us. Nobody expected you to come to my house."

When he noticed William pressing his forehead to try to relieve the pain, he quickly extended his hand to rub it. William looked into his eyes intently, as if deciphering an underlying plan or searching for the truth behind his words.

"There's no need; I can..."

Henry abruptly sealed William's words with a kiss before he could finish his sentence. The kiss wasn't meant to be deep or long, but as soon as their lips met, Henry couldn't hold back his emotions and tilted his head in search of a deeper connection.

"Will you listen to me this time?" he asked as they parted their lips. William's current mental state was unsuitable for bargaining, and his condition should not be made public.

In his previous life, he was labelled a lunatic. It was also a thorn in William's side; he refused to let history repeat itself.

When he didn't hear back for a while, Henry realised something was wrong and shook William.

"William, take a deep breath!"

"What's the matter with you?" He gently patted his cheek. William sat motionless, staring at him as if he had gone insane or was in a trance, forgetting to breathe.

"We have to leave right away; we don't have much time."

"We must arrive at the lift before they do." Cars typically have their own route to the basement in buildings of this design.

Whether William agreed or not, Henry wrapped William's arm around his neck and opened the door. The sight astounded Robert, who had been waiting outside. He was relieved that they hadn't gotten into a fight today, but seeing Henry assist William in leaving made him suspicious and wary. However, seeing William's lack of resistance, he suppressed his reservations.

"Summon the doctor to my location as soon as possible."

"Capture the butler and allow him to guide us. Tell the guards to drive to the basement; we need to leave right away."

Robert had a strange feeling after hearing a series of orders. He looked to William for guidance, but his hesitation only irritated Henry. With William's health uncertain and his hand injured, he couldn't afford to be here any longer.

"William is awake and aware of what I'm saying. I'll give you a half-minute to make the call. If you go above that, you accept responsibility." Henry was not in the mood to argue with Robert after spotting the butler lurking around the corner of the corridor.

"Come here," Henry said, his voice cold and emotionless, devoid of sentiment, exerting an invisible pressure on others. The butler and the staff had just witnessed him knocking down the guards; fortunately, they did not attempt to stop him.

The butler was perplexed as to whether he should approach or not. Even though the Grady family was not directly involved in this matter, they were inevitably implicated. He would have left long ago if it hadn't been for Mr. Grady's directive to keep an eye on the situation.

Despite his reservations, he had to obey orders. Why did Henry Scott become so sharp and dangerous after reawakening?

He shuffled step by step until Henry lost patience, then handed William over to Robert and softly assured him, "I'll be back soon."

He moved forward and collided with the butler's knee, knocking him down. "Seen enough of what you came to see?" he slammed him against the wall, gripping his neck. Tell Harrison Grady that if any news gets out tomorrow, the Grady lineage and his son will be gone." Liam couldn't have been this active in someone else's territory without Harrison Grady's involvement, Henry was certain.

Harrison was the head of the Grady family, according to Henry's memory. They weren't a large family, but they knew how to manoeuvre diplomatically while remaining neutral. They were able to bring members of the Beaumont and Wilson families to the party this time, enhancing the Grady family's reputation. The fact that no reporters had stormed upstairs by this point assured Henry that Harrison Grady was a sensible man.

"I'll relay this to Mr. Grady," he says. The butler managed to mutter, terrified and in pain.

"Open the lift to the car basement." The butler didn't keep Henry waiting this time; he went right over to fingerprint authenticate the elevator to the basement. "Have William's car driven out as a decoy; drive mine away," Henry said, tossing the keys to Robert.

Normally, people of William's status would not park their cars within the mansion grounds but would wait outside upon request to avoid anyone tampering with the car among the crowd. At this point, Henry still preferred to drive his own car; no one seemed to mind. Furthermore, prior to William's incident, he used to race in secret, never allowing others to drive his car.

However, he had rarely driven himself since William's death in a car accident. The last time he raced was to seal his own fate, thanks to the Beaumont family's influence.

Henry returned to fetch William, and the three of them boarded the lift. They ran into the people he didn't want to see as they descended. Oliver Grant and Caroline Wilson, William's secretary and younger sister, respectively,

When Henry caught sight of Robert avoiding eye contact, he couldn't help but reprimand him, "Idiot."

William was now in a semi-conscious state, and any further delay in seeing a doctor was unthinkable. Henry had no desire to interact with these people. He attempted to proceed towards the parking area but was stopped in his tracks by a woman's outstretched arm and a man's sarcastic voice.

"You can hand over William to me; there's nothing here about you anymore."

"That's right; my brother doesn't need your concern."
