Chapter 4 The birth

Few months later

Carl POV

I'm heavily pregnant , so weak, looking frail with my sunken eyes....I looked at my self closely and realize I have lost so much weight .

Mother Lily affirmed that my baby is going to be a very powerful one and her birth wouldn't be easy either. She constantly fed me with some strange herbs and concoctions which she told me would make me feel better , the truth is I feel worse everyday and at some point I wished I would just die . Ever since Jasper appeared to me in my dream about protecting our daughter I didn't see or hear from him...I prayed day and night hoping he would appear once and comfort me, have really missed him , everything about him , his beautiful face , his touch...tears welled up in my eyes , I can't go out to the woods because it would be dangerous, he wouldn't even be there so there is no point .

Dawn is gradually approaching and I felt quite drowsy, I stood up in pains trying to raise my swollen feet walking hastily to mother Lily's room she was fast asleep...."Mother mother! the incense is burning out " I said , she stirred slightly I patted her on her back gently and slowly...

"Carl what's the problem? Were you crying? You are looking horrible my child ..." Mother lily was very worried she cared about me so much....

" Mother the incense is burning out.....I don't understand how I'm feeling, the pains and contractions Is coming stronger" I said anxiously.

"You would be fine my dear let me go and prepare the incense , I would call Nora after that ....you might be close to delivering your child just relax a little while I go put things in place...... "mother Lily said as she walked out of the room.

Jasper POV

I walked across my chambers in deep thought ...the time and hour for the most powerful goddess to be born is near ! I have to send the message to Carl immediately, I haven't talked to her all this while even to touch her , and I know she must have been hurting , I can't afford to delay in the preparations for my daughter's birth , my own Ivory , I have to do everything in my power to ensure she is save I hope Carl understands.

I walked hastily , heading to the deep chambers of the priest to talk to my love...

Carl's POV

" My love I'm sorry I haven't reached out to you all this while , I have missed you so much and you know I love you....I was doing everything possible to prevent harm from coming closer to our daughter I hope you understand, she would be called Ivory and she would be a powerful goddess, her magnificence won't be hidden and the enemy would soon figure her out so make sure the bracelet is on her hand immediately she is born..... I'm always with you and I love you".... Jasper said to me almost in a whisper I could see his beautiful face clearly this time and I'm so excited and relieved to hear from my lover he has given me another hope and strength to fight this battle "I love you Jasper " I whispered and open my eyes.

It was another dream and this time ...I can feel it that I'm so close to giving birth to my baby , my baby would be a girl and she would be named Ivory 🥺 I'm so excited I can't wait to see what she would look like ,I can't wait to carry her on my arms I placed my hands on my abdomen rubbing it lightly I could feel the throbbing pain and contractions coming stronger I gasped as my back ached terribly ....

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh my back! I screamed and as I made to stand up there was a wet splash from the lower part of my body my water just broke!

" Mother! "...... I shouted I couldn't hear or see her, seems she has gone out to call Nora as she said earlier.... " Somebody please help ! " I screamed... The pain I felt was out of this world and I was extremely helpless at this point as there was no traces of anyone around , I tried to practice a slow breathing exercise that Mother taught me some days ago...I took a deep breath in and out ...as I groaned "uhmmmmmmmmm" I tried pushing out my baby on my own the agony was too much to bear .

The wind shook violently and all windows of the house opened reflexively in response the doors of the room opened there was roaring in the clouds and a there was a great thunderstorm....my body shook terribly as I cried

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh my back! I screamed and as I made to stand up there was a wet splash from the lower part of my body my water just broke

" Mother! "...... I shouted I couldn't hear or see her, seems she has gone out to call Nora as she said earlier.... " Somebody please help ! " I screamed... The pain I felt was out of this world and I was extremely helpless at this point as there was no traces of anyone around , I tried to practice a slow breathing exercise that Mother taught me some days ago...I took a deep breath in and out ...as I groaned "uhmmmmmmmmm" I tried pushing out my baby on my own the agony was too much to bear

" Help somebody! I cried in pains ...then I heard some footsteps I was so weak to raise my head then in a glimpse I saw mother running towards me to the bed where I laid with Nora coming after her with a large bag on her hands ....

Mother was astounded meeting me in that condition" my child I'm so sorry I left you all alone, we were trying to get some things for the baby " Mother said

" The baby head is out please push Carl" Nora said as she rushed towards me holding my baby head and touching me slightly..

I groaned painfully pushing with all the strength I have left ..

" She is out ! She is out!" Nora screamed

" Mother please wear her the bracelet her name is Ivory 'I said trying to touch my baby but my eyes closed I was so weak to do anything".
