Chapter 3 She lied

As Christine walked through the door after a long day at work, her husband greeted her with a concerned look on his face. He noticed that she had changed ,she was more distant and had stopped showing interest in the things they used to do together.

"Is everything okay, honey?" her husband asked, hoping for an honest answer.

She sighed and gave a half-hearted smile, "I'm just stressed with work, that's all. It's been hectic lately."

Her husband listened patiently but noticed that this wasn't the first time he had heard these words. He knew it was something more. He tried to start a conversation, but she quickly changed the subject, brushing off his concerns like they were nothing.

Days turned into weeks and Christine's behavior continued to change. She became more irritable and was always on edge. Her husband tried to bring up the topic again, but she always had an excuse.

One evening, he decided to confront her and gently asked, "I can see that something is bothering you, and I want to help. It's not right to just ignore our problems and pretend that everything is okay."

Tears began to stream down the woman's face as she opened up to her husband. She was struggling with her job and didn't know how to talk about it without feeling like a failure. She was worried that he would judge her or think less of her.

Her husband held her close and reassured her that he loved her and that her job didn't define her worth. He promised to support her in any way he could and help her find a way forward.

After that conversation, the woman began to see a change in herself. She started to open up more and share her struggles with her husband. They worked together to find a solution and make things better not knowing it was all a prank.

Christine realized that keeping up with the facade of being okay and not talking about her problems was hurting not only herself but also those around her.

She learned that being open and vulnerable was not a weakness, but rather a strength. And most importantly, Christine realized that she had someone who loved her unconditionally and was always there to help.

She loved Robert but her Boss was one man she also loved to be with.

Another day has dawned on the bustling metropolis, where the sun rises over glittering skyscrapers and the sound of car horns echo through the streets. The rich cities are always alive, with people bustling around, walking briskly and confidently towards their destinations.

The cars on the roads are honking as usual, trying to navigate through the crowded city streets. The sidewalks are crowded with people rushing to get to work or appointments, with the occasional tourist weaving in and out of the crowd.

The buildings lining the streets stand tall and proud, with gleaming glass windows reflecting the bright sunlight. These structures are the backbone of the city, housing bustling offices, fancy restaurants, and expensive shops that cater to the needs of the elite.

Although beautiful and impressive, these cities can sometimes feel overwhelming. The pace of life is fast, and the competition is fierce. People here are always on the go, chasing after their dreams and ambitions. It's a city that never sleeps, with people working hard day and night to achieve their goals.

Amidst the busy and frenzied atmosphere, some might find it challenging to catch their breath. Everything moves so fast, and it might feel like it's hard to escape the unending flurry of activities and noise.

But despite this, many people thrive in these cities. They're drawn to the energy, the drive, and the endless possibilities. For them, each new day is an opportunity, and they're determined to seize it with both hands.

Robert's mansion stood glamorously with its painted color glittering.

Manuela sat at the dining table with her mom and dad, watching them eat dinner. As she took bites of her salad and cheese, she looked up at her mom and then at her dad. Something felt different tonight, and she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

As she observed her parents, she noticed her mom seemed more focused on her plate rather than engaging in conversation with her dad. This was unusual since her mom always made sure they all had dinner together as a family. However, tonight was different, and she could sense it.

She wanted her mom to look at her dad and talk to him like she always did. Instead, her mother seemed to have a lot on her mind and barely looked up from her plate. Robert smiled at his little girl and tried to start a conversation with her, but he seemed to be met with short and dismissive responses.

Manuela began to feel as if her mom was neglecting her dad, and it didn't sit well with her. She missed the happy atmosphere that usually came with dinner time. She missed hearing her mom and dad talk about their day and laugh with each other.

As dinner was finishing up, Manuela decided to speak up. "Mommy, why aren't you talking to daddy?" she asked innocently. Her mom looked up, slightly taken aback. "I...I'm sorry, I guess I'm just a little tired tonight," her mom said.

Manuela gave her mom a concerned look, "Are you okay?" she asked.

Her mom smiled weakly and said, "Yes, I'm okay. I'm sorry if I made you feel neglected, honey. I'll try to be better tomorrow."

Manuela felt relieved that everything was going to be okay and that her family could return to their happy dinner times. She happily finished her dinner and went to bed, feeling grateful for her family and hopeful for a better tomorrow.

Robert was done with his meal so he stood up to get dressed and prepare for work.

As Robert stood in front of his wardrobe, he let out a long sigh. He knew he had an important day at the office and needed to look his best. This was the first time he was meeting with the senior management team of the company and he wanted to create a good impression. But he was not sure which outfit would be appropriate.

Robert had a fairly big wardrobe, filled with various types of clothing. From suits to casual wear, he had it all. However, he knew that he had to look professional today, so he had to choose something that was both stylish and comfortable.

He started by pulling out a couple of suits. The first one was black, with a slim-fit jacket and trousers. The second was gray, with a fancier texture, and a crisp white shirt. He tried both on, but they didn't seem to fit him well. He felt too hot in the black one, and the gray one was too fancy for a casual day at the office.

Next, he moved on to his collection of shirts. He picked out a light blue one that went well with his skin tone. He then looked at his trousers and decided on a pair of beige chinos. They were comfortable and appropriate for a semi-formal meeting.

Robert finished off his outfit with a pair of brown leather shoes. He brushed off any dirt on them and tied the laces tight. He then took one final look at himself in the mirror. He put on a silver watch on his left wrist and smiled confidently. He knew that he looked good and felt comfortable at the same time.

As he headed out towards the office, he walked down the street with his head held high. He felt confident, knowing that he had made the right choice in his wardrobe. As soon as he reached the office, he was greeted by his colleagues, who complimented him on his outfit. Robert was pleased with the compliments, but he knew it was not just the clothes, it was the comfort and confidence he felt wearing them.

As the day went on, Robert aced his presentation and made an excellent impression on the senior management team. He knew that he was one step closer to reaching his career goals. And, he knew that it all started with the right outfit in his wardrobe.

He was now having feeling of concerned about his wife because she was getting time for her a while.
