Chapter 4 An Apology

Joel turned the car around in silence and headed back towards the main road. He had a stern but satisfied look on his face. One that made the creases around his mouth look even more defined, showing his age creeping upon him.

Joel was all of 35 years older than Anna. As if that wasn't disturbing enough for Anna, she was terrified of Joel. As head of the company, Joel had a terrible demeanor , one that would invoke fear upon others.

He was very stern, however very few had seen the little part of him that was kind and thoughtful. On occasion Joel would show her that side. Anna quietly stared out into the emptiness avoiding eye contact with him.

Joel eventually broke the silence and apologized for his actions stating that he was unable to control himself. However, this was only the beginning of what Anna would suffer mentally and physically. Once Joel had a taste of such glory, he was bound to be back for more.

Anna sat there thinking about his apology.

She had the feeling that it wasn't all that sincere, due to the stupid smirk he had on his face. He also had a relaxed look and the way his eyes gleamed, anyone could tell that he would do it all over again, if given the chance.

Anna didn't feel like talking or thinking. All she wanted was to go home and wash away all the guilty and shameful stains, not just from her body but also her memory.

As if Joel had read her mind, he glanced in her direction again and told her that he would take her home to get cleaned up and that she could take the rest of the day off.
