Chapter 8 him

After dinner we go out for a walk and I wish he would hold my hand but he doesn't. We stop for ice cream on the way back. It's a great Saturday and when we leave the ice cream place he holds my hand as we walk hand-in-hand and I get comfort in his strong Manly hands. It makes me forget my problems and they are a lot. At the front of my apartment he stops me and pulls me in to look at him. He tucks my hair behind my ear to look at me and I crane my neck to look back at him as he massages me from my shoulders to my hands

"I had a very good time tonight, thank you"

"I should be thanking you for an amazing dinner. Now I have to cook and I'm no good"

"You can't be good at everything. Now I know what I can do that you can't, its leverage"

"If its gets me to see that smile is worth it" I let out a laugh and he holds my chin so that I do not avoid looking at him

"I have a work thing in Las Vegas next Thursday care to be my plus-one?"

"Is it work or fun that you need one?"

"It's actually work but its Vegas so they will be pleasure and I can't go alone. Come on"

"I don't know I don't think it's a........"

"I wasn't finished. There is a private jet, the hottest hotel casino and everything is free. You can't say no"

"It's not free, it's paid for. I can let you use more money on me"

"It's actually free as it's paid for by the company. Please say yes"

"On second South I haven't been to Vegas"

"Yes! We will have the most amazing of amazing times. you won't regret it"

"Okay" he looks at his watch and kisses my forehead as if he's leaving

"I have to go. I'll call you about the details"

"Oh! Okay. Aren't you coming upstairs?"

"No I can't. It's already late I don't want to keep you. Thanks again for today." he kisses both my cheek and lets me go. He waits for me to get inside before he leaves and I go back to my apartment. Not how I expected today to end but its fine; I had the most amazing time so I can't complain.

On Sunday morning he calls to check up on me and he does that the whole following week. On Monday he calls to confirm our trip that will be on Wednesday evening since his meetings will begin Thursday morning and end on Friday so we would probably be back on Saturday. I concur and send him some of my information he has asked for and we are all set. I hate lying to Alice but I tell her I have a job hunting thing I am pursuing and would give her the details when I get back.

He picks me up on a limo to the airport. When we get on the plane he apologizes that he has a few things to put together before we arrive as he wants us to enjoy every minute in Las Vegas hence he won't be much company on the plane. When it takes off the hostess brings glasses of Champagne and Caviar that's Curtis who is already concentrated on his work refuses and I take on his behalf. It's a pleasant flight considering I have never been on private jet; it's an experience I find amazing while I take a selfie and send it to Alice that I know will surprise her.

He wasn't kidding about the hotel it's like a Palace and magnificent. So far I do not regret my decision. He booked a suite that has two bedrooms in it so everyone has their room and we go freshen up before going for dinner. I get out of my bedroom and find him making a drink that he offers but I don't want to start drinking yet so we head down to have dinner that is delicious and the place is just fantastic. After dinner he drags me to the casino part of the hotel and since I told him I have never gambled he insists I have to try my luck with the games. I'm not very lucky but we have lots of fun at the tables playing with money I don't have or own, plus I lose more than i gain so I don't consider myself very lucky tonight.

It's the middle of the night when we retire back to the suites because Curtis has work in the morning. We drank a little but we're not drunk and I don't want to take more of his time already so I kiss him and head to my room before he gets to react. I wake up in the morning late take a hot shower dress and get out of my bedroom. I find a note from Curtis, he went to his meetings but he will be back in time for lunch and he ordered breakfast and left me his card in case I wanted to go out and have fun before he comes back. I eat breakfast and go for sightseeing and selfies in the hotel before lunch.

He takes me out of the hotel for lunch and after we go sightseeing in Las Vegas since it's my first time and one of many for him. When we come back he tells me he agreed to dinner with a work acquaintance that he thinks I should meet and I accept. His friend's name is Marks and from the conversation I gather Curtis is working on something with them that brought them to Vegas

"So Brianna curt tells me you are a creator" Mark says in the middle of conversations

"Not really" I answer with a smile

"She manages to creative departments at Blackwell's" curt chimes in

"Used to actually. I don't work there anymore"

"I know I did a little research on you before I came to meet you in person" Marks tells me

"To meet me? What kind of research?"

"I like you and I loved your work. I think you would be great assets to our company" I am both surprised, astonished and lack for words and I look at Curtis who is busy smiling as he pours his drink

"Here is my card. All the information you need is there" I take it as hesitantly as I do not understand what is going on

"Look through it and if you're interested drop by the office on Monday. If you have any more questions you can call me on my number"

"Did you just offer me a job?" I ask starting to get excited

"I believe I just did"

"oh my...!"I am so happy I just end up hugging Curtis who hugs me back laughing

"I believe that hug was meant for me" marks says when I let Curtis go and we all end up laughing at his remark

"Thank you so much. I don't know what to say" I tell him

"Why don't you start on Monday after we sort things out?"

"I know I won't but someone will" he says smiling at Curtis but I don't read much into it as we finish our dinner. We head to the casino where they are meeting a few of their friends who are having a private gathering at the bar.

It's been a while since i partied and had fun and I savor every moment of it. It's a great Little Party and by the time we left we are wasted. we reach the suit and sit on the couch laughing at what I can't remember exactly, I think it is the alcohol. he put his hands on my lap and I put mine on top of his and we both look at each other in the eye and I don't mistake the look of desire in his eyes.
