Chapter 4 My Husband is an Emperor

I LEFT the palace to vent my anger on Emperor Rhizhi. I went to my friend Xijie.

"Princess Yeng, what are you frowning at? I've been noticing that sullen face of yours for a while now. Did Emperor Rhizhi hurt you?" Xijie asked me,

"Don't ignore me, Xijie. I'm just venting my anger. Our place in the palace is too crowded," I said sadly,

"With the size of the palace, did it still feel cramped for you? Is the Emperor getting fat?" It was a joke to me, I glanced at Xijie.

"You're really joking," I snorted.

"As for you... I just want you to smile even if you have a problem. Okay, that's it. Let's eat out, treat me!" it nanny to me, but I shook my head,

"I have no appetite,"

"Princess Yeng, I will only be free once. Will you still refuse?" it still bothers me,

I held my breath. Maybe Xijie is right, it's better if I entertain myself so I can forget about the Emperor.

I agreed to eat out with my friend Xijie. Even though I somehow forgot about my problem in the palace. While we were eating, some people from other places entered the town. They are mounted and carry weapons. It stopped in the middle of the market, and there a leader of them shouted.

"Take all the women here, and we will make them captives!" authoritative command of the leader. That's why his disciples obeyed and took the young women. I was shocked by what I witnessed, because when the women were stubborn they killed them. Until their leader saw me, he stared at me from a distance and signaled to his disciple to take me too. I stood up and grabbed Xijie's rod. It immediately blocked to protect me, but they aimed a sword at Xijie.

"Don't take the girl behind me, but I will be forced to kill you!" Xijie even threatened the soldiers who wanted to take me.

The leader smiled and approached us. "You are brave! What can you do? Soldiers, kill that man!" he ordered his soldiers so they took action and immediately prepared their weapons to kill Xijie, but Xijie blew up an ash, they inhaled the scattered ash before one by one felt a gasp. They collided one after the other, which is why the leader's eyes widened at what he witnessed.

"W-what's going on?" he asked his right hand who was also suddenly afraid of what he saw.

"Your majesty, I think he is the man who is good at making poison! We can't handle him, Your Majesty!" scared it said,

Their leader looked at us evilly, before giving orders to his soldiers.

"Let's get out of here!" he said at the same time hitting his horse and they completely left the place.

"Are you all right, Princess Yeng?" Xijie asked me,

"Who are they? Why do they take women and make them captives?" I asked in surprise,

"I don't know, Princess Yeng. But I will find out all about that." Xijie stared at the distance where they passed.

I spent the night at Xijie's house, but I couldn't sleep well. The state of majesty always comes to my mind. Even though it drove me away, I still couldn't help but worry about his health. What can I do so that I can help and heal the dear Emperor forever? Why can't I help my wife myself, while I can easily cure other people's pain?

I closed my eyes, but my mind immediately traveled to another world where there were so many drug options.

"Where am I? Why are there so many antidotes in this place?" I asked myself,

I approached to look at the floating antidotes. I took one and smelled it to find out what the medicine was for.

"What antidote is this? Why can't I identify what this medicine is for?" I thought for a moment, and my mind was trying to figure out what it was for. Until I woke up I didn't even know what antidote it was.

I sat on the bed. "What does that dream mean?"

I was startled by the noise coming from the roof, so I completely got out of bed. I took the weapon that was on the table and immediately pointed it at the door. I was very scared, as I held the very long sword. The moment someone enters the door, I will really attack with the sword that belongs to my friend Xijie.

I heard a rustling at the door again, so I took a step back in fear. I held the sword even tighter, and prepared to attack. But suddenly someone hugged me from behind, so to my surprise I suddenly faced him to protect myself. But it grabbed the sword and immediately snatched it from me. I couldn't move, not because I got the sword, but because I knew the man who suddenly hugged me from behind.

"Your majesty?!" I exclaimed when I saw Emperor Rhizhi.

It just stared at me, and I heard no response from it. But I could clearly see the paleness on his face, and it seemed like he was still catching his breath.

"Your Majesty, are you all right?" I asked her again, but she suddenly became weak so I immediately supported her close to the bed. "Your Highness, what is going on with you?" I asked here again, after laying on the bed. He didn't answer, the paleness of his lips was obvious.

I immediately took a needle from the bag I always carry. I pushed it first before injecting it to make him feel better.

"Your majesty, what happened to you and you look like that?" I was crying while I was putting the needle on his head and behind his ear.

The Emperor opened his eyes and looked at me for a moment.

"Empress Yeng..." he said before completely losing his mind. I panicked and checked its pulse again. The Emperor just fell asleep, he was still alive and only weak at that time.

I was surprised when Xijie suddenly entered the room.

"Princess Yeng! You alright?" it asked me, it caught a glimpse of the man lying on the bed so it felt good.

"What is the Emperor doing here?" Xijie asked seriously. But he was the one who answered his question when he noticed that the Emperor was pale.

"He brought you here even though he was in a serious condition?" Xijie said to me, I just stared at the Emperor. I can't believe that despite his condition he still managed to get out of the palace and find me. I guess I'm putting the Emperor's life in danger.
