Chapter 4 TO THE RESCUE

"Thank you,' I was so pleasant.

"You are welcome, lovely." He kissed my neck, I felt a spark rush through my body for a second there, but I ignored it and smiled, dropping down my hair and idolizing the necklace. However, for some reason, my wolf was so excited and I couldn't tell what was going on with her.

"Miss me too,' Carmine came out of nowhere laughing. I smiled and went to him, giving him a hug too, after that I kicked his foot.

"Ouch,' he winced. "I can't believe my little sister has turned me into such a punching bag.' He complained.

'That's for leaving me, take that.' I smirked at him.

"But, you didn't do that to Gerard, I'm not the only one who left you.'

"He's remorseful and not like you.' I pointed at him and Gerard just cracked up. "Seems like I'm her favourite.'

"Fuck you.' He emphasised.

"Hey, Gérard." My father was walking towards us with a smile. "My sons are back.'

"Hi, Father,' he went over and gave him a big hug.

"You could have told me, you were both home." Gerard pulled away from him and Carmine went over to clutch him too.

"Welcome back, Carmine.' He said with delight.

"Thank you, father.'

"I just came back a while ago, Father, a couple of ten minutes."

"And the first person you saw and greeted was Oceana and not your father,'

"He even brought her a necklace.' Carmine winked at me.

"Oh, it's really beautiful,' he appeared fascinated, turning to Gerard. "And, you didn't get any presents for me.'

He seemed jealous, well, I'm his favorite anyway.

"Father, you sound like a kid." Carmine giggled.

"Sorry about that, next time." He laughed and then my mother came along heartily running like a kid and hugging my brothers. "You've grown up so fast, look at how big you are, my son, they must have been feeding you well over there."

"Mom, I'm good,'' he smiled and kissed her on the forehead. Then Alex came along and also welcomed Gérard and Carmine by shouting with excitement.

We all left, including Jessie. She was happy to see Gérard, he was her role model and always looked up to him.

"Wow, your big brothers are back." She shouted with delight and pounced on me, choking my neck.

"Go away,' I struggled to speak, and she then released me. "You don't have to kill me." I coughed a little.

"I'm sorry, Oceana,' she apologized.

These days were the best days of my life, everyone also ran to him, surrounding him like a celebrity, and the clan loves him.

I wish he wasn't going back so soon, including Carmine.

Gérard is my elder brother, an heir to the pack, he was ten years older than me, always petting me since I was a baby and we were pretty close to each other, but he was always away from home due to training and some other stuff which I don't know about, but my parents hid it from me and refused to tell me the true reason why my brother was always away from home, involving Carmine.

They were my older brothers, who were so protective of me when they were around and as soon as they were done with high school, they left without a word, which pissed me off.

That night after celebrating, my parents had asked me and Alex to excuse them, I did but my curiosity got the best of me and Alex just went back to his games.

I held behind the pillar, trying with so much strength that I was virtually sweating profusely on my forehead to eavesdrop on them, finally, I could catch a few words.

"Why did you come back?' My father's voice sounded solemn and slammed the table.

"Dear, you need to calm down, the kids will hear you,' she whispered.

"I...I had to come for the...."

"I don't want to hear any excuses from you, don't you dare fail me and the clan.'

Why was he talking to Gerard in such a manner, I thought he was happy he came home.

"Let this be the last time you come home until Oceana finds her mate or else, you will cease to be my son.'

What were they hiding, was father disowning Gerard or was I thinking something unrelated.

I noticed Gerard and Carmine, leaving the dining table, I better run before I get caught.

Anyways, I was going to find out someday and they can't hide the truth from me forever on why my brothers are not always around.

I got to school the next day and noticed people whispering among themselves. I don't know why but I lowered my head and concentrated on searching for Jessie, when I felt something hot poured on my head.

I jumped up, shouting panickingly and taking off anything that was on my head, to my surprise it was pasta.

How dare she, I growled, glaring at her.

"Do you hate your life so much to do this to me?"

I got such a badmouth huh, for a ten-year-old little kid, well, the school taught me that.

"You don't belong here, bastard, we don't want a wolfless person in here."

"And what's that got to do with you, why are you always picking on me." My eyes burned with tears and the class laughed at me and threw some stuff. I couldn't ignore it anymore and ran to the bathroom, shut the door and burst into tears and stayed in the bathroom for hours.

Why was I even born?

I dozed off with tears in the toilet and suddenly I felt a knock at the door. I got scared and jumped up, taking a step back.

"It is me, Gérard,' I knew that voice. "Open the door, Oceana.' He calmly requested. "I went to the door and unlocked it, seeing Gérard was a relief to me, my eyes welled up as I hugged him.

"Everything will be fine, I'm here now." He murmured, then carried me up in bridal style. "Let's go home."

I nodded.

'`The next time the school allows bullies to threaten Oceana again, I will sue this school for damages.' He dangerously warned the principal.
