Chapter 5 Uses money and power

Laura had never seen such aggression from a man. Certainly, not in her presence. Such disrespect from a random good-for-nothing little boy

"Stop him now!" The d men around who couldn't fight him off shouted for the countless security guards who rushed in to stop the man

"You think I'm scared of a witch like you!" The man growled, snapping the dangerous whip in his hand like it were nothing... Laura retreated to a corner, shielding her face with her hands,

"Today. I'll show you not to toy with people!" Nathan snarled, striking the flexible line on the table hard. The men and women scattered. The black hunting whip combined had a stock with a firm, flexible lash. Deadly at best. With each stroke on the table, the men shivered. Was he crazy as to beat a woman?

The monstrous young man taking predatory steps toward their boss

"We'll see bitch...how dare you try to take our homes!" Nathan roared. His body hitched muscularly. Laura swallowed hard. Her back connected with the cold wall, and a shiver rushed through her. For the first time, someone dared to defy her rules.

She never knew there existed a man who could stand in her presence and insult her, let alone threaten her

"Get out...this is my property, and you are trespassing "Laura warned. Keeping her distant. She had nowhere to run to. All her security guards had been beaten black and blue by the young man and lying on the floor.

"Those houses are ours...how dare you try to steal from us, "Nathan said, advancing towards the witch, she thought asking her lapdogs to attack him would work

"Touch me...and you'll rot in jail," Laura said. She didn't have to fear. The company was hers. It was her property and world...any man who dared to defy her rules had to suffer. Straightening her back gracefully. Laura came face to face with the brown-haired man. His face contorted with rage, and his body was hunched and intimidating. However, she didn't fear

"For a witch, you think showing your little power will save you," Nathan remarked disdainfully. He came to see the woman who was causing his family harm. The woman who gave orders to ruin his family and standing before him was that woman

"What does a filthy man like you want...that land is mine...you better pack up or... I'll Bulldoze your pathetic..." Laura snapped; however, she didn't even finish her sentence when the man grabbed her by the neck

"Bitch... I'll kill you," Nathan lost it and pressed Laura's neck angrily. Screaming and kicking didn't help Laura as she coughed. Tugged at the man's hands,

"What are you waiting for...call the police, "the men rushed to stop Nathan from killing their boss. No matter how many there were. Nathan shrugged them off. His hands tightened around Laura's neck, squeezing the life out of her

"Ahh... s- stop him" tears flooded in Laura's eyes as she fought to free herself. Her body was in agonizing pain. The need to escape was imperative; however, she couldn't...she saw life flash before her eyes. Her body was getting weaker by the second. Her lungs were deprived of oxygen,

"You'll pay...for touching my family "Nathan was angry. Even when the police rushed in and used force to pry him off the lady. Neither succeeded,

"Nathan, stop it now!" Carl shouted, seeing how Nathan was about to beat a woman. He was never like this

"Let...let go"he growled and shoved Carl away. His focus was fixed on killing the vile woman before him. Laura had lost consciousness but even so, Nathan didn't stop until Carl used his police baton to hit Nathan's legs several times until he let go of Laura

"Call the ambulance...she isn't doing well!" one of the boards shouted and caught Laura before she hit the floor.

"Let me go, damn it!" Nathan snarled when countless policemen held him back.

"Damn you Nate"An angry Carl glared at Nathan. "Take him away and lock him up" Carl gave his orders and Nathan scoffed, and the policemen dragged him out of the conference room

"Make sure he doesn't get out for this...he should be punished, "said one of the board members. Carl nodded and bowed in respect and walked close to the woman Nathan nearly killed

"She's alive...the ambulance is on the way," Carl said, not sure why Nathan loved causing trouble. Now he dug his grave because immediately the lady regained consciousness. She was likely to sue him for a murder attempt, and trespassing on private property. Nathan was as good as dead. This time he stepped on a tigress's tail, and he was likely to pay a heavy price for it.

Hours later of spending time at the hospital where Laura was admitted. Carl rushed down to the station. His anger was something he had tried to suppress, he asked his colleagues to make sure Nathan was punished heavily for what he did.

It wasn't the first time he acted like an animal.

"Any news?" Carl asked as soon as he entered his office. As the chief of police, he had a lot on his plate. Nathan was just an addition to his work

"We gave him more than a hundred strokes...he's as stubborn as a bull" the officer said shaking his head in disbelief. He and his men had chained up Nathan. Used the most feared weapon the police had on him. However, the man was still on his feet.

"He's stubborn alright...take care of things... I'll see him," Carl said with a long exhale. He left the office and proceeded down the cells. Nathan was stubborn. He acted recklessly. The police station wasn't new to him. But it was time he put some sense into him

"So now you are here," Nathan said, getting up from the bench as soon as Carl showed up. For someone would be punished. Nathan was a strong son of a bitch

"Please stop this...you went too far," Carl said ignoring Nathan's sarcasm

"Well, well...look who we have here...the wealth people's lapdog, the COP himself" Nathan said sarc, scanning Carl from head to toe. Carl sighed. This wasn't working. Nathan was difficult to deal with. He never reasoned with anyone,

"How could you after everything I said."

"It's a shame... that bitch is still alive...damn her"Nathan muttered gripping the metal bars tightly

"She's coming for you...she's a million times more horrible than you," Carl remarked, cutting Nathan short

"If you use fists...she uses money and her power... if you think you'll escape this...dream on" Carl made it clear and Nathan didn't utter a word. He had to listen somehow. The woman he attacked was Laura Larson, her family was well-known. The black widow, herself. She wasn't to be taken lightly... Nathan's eyes narrowed as he stood there, thinking.
