A loud voice replied from behind. “He must be busy with business meetings! , so he doesn't have time for his plain Jane of a wife! When they heard the sarcastic tone of the voice, they turn around to see Brenda standing by the door with her hand clutched into her bag. After saying that, she stepped into the dining room with an aggrieved look on her face. she was about to take her seat beside her father when grandpa Medina yelled out in a scolding voice.

“Is how you talk about your sister? How could you speak so ill of her in front of everyone like that? Grandpa Medina was infuriated by how she always treated Giselle, who in turn showed her nothing but love. Giselle had never hated her for everything she's done to her but she kept making trouble with her purposely. “Brenda, did we raise you to be so arrogant and rude to your sister? Now, apologize to her right and settle everything right this minute” Samantha said after seeing how Brenda was still being indifferent to her grandpa's words. Despite her yelling, Brenda refused to bait an eye so she moved close to her and left a tight slap on her cheek. “Whatever I said is true so I won't apologize to her. Instead of scolding me, you should ask your beloved Giselle!” Smack!!! The sound of the slap reverberated through the hall. With tears in her eyes, Brenda held her cheek with one of her hands while she stare daggers at her aunt Samantha and Giselle. “It's not surprising that you love another person's daughter more than yours, aunt Samantha ” She said before running off to her room while everyone stare after her. Matilda, who's Brenda's mother was angry when Samantha had slapped her daughter right in front of her; she wanted to raise her voice and fight back but she was stopped by Freddie right in time before she does something wrong. After watching Brenda run off to her room, she moved close to Samantha and said.“ Samantha, I would let this slide this once. I'm warning you not to hurt my daughter again. I've lost my appetite ”. With that, she ran after her daughter. not heeding the calling voice of her husband. “Come back here, Matilda! You can't walk like that ”. “Let her go. Give her some time” Grandpa Medina said. Right then, Danica walked into the room with a gentle smile on her face as she approached Giselle. “Giselle sister, when did you come back to the manor? Oh, I heard it's anniversary today as well, happy anniversary sister. Brother inlaw Zayn didn't come back with you?” “No, he's very busy with some work today,” Giselle said with a smile. Then the expression on her face quickly darkened as she thought of how sneaky Danica was. She couldn't understand how a person can be so two-faced. She appeared in front of everyone else in the entire city like a saint, who had never killed a crawling animal before but in reality, she's a vicious witch. who's having an affair with her supposed brother-in-law despite knowing that he's married to Giselle instead. Danica seems to know when and how to pull the strings to gain the public's sympathy. Giselle knows all of this but she couldn't bring herself to tell her grandparents and aunt Samantha about it; she didn't want to hurt them after all they've done for her in the last couple of years. Giselle was so lost thinking about this that she didn't realize that everyone else had sat down for lunch. Grandma's calm voice shove her back to reality as she glanced over the table and saw that lunch has been served. “Sit down and let's have lunch, Giselle. You need to eat a lot today after all it's your big day” Grandma said with a teasing tone, and Giselle blushed at her words. Danica was burning with anger watching all the love being poured on Giselle. she felt angered and wanted to rip Giselle apart. How could this ugly jane be so lucky in life? She has everything that everyone else wanted. money! power! status! And even the position of young mistress of the Meyer family. She even got married to the man she had her eyes set on for a long time and now she's been treated like a queen in front of her. Danica clenched her fists “All of these won't last for long Giselle. I won't let you take Zayn away from me. No, after all, I have done to keep him away from you all of these years; I did everything, I won't let you ruin it. You better enjoy everything you have now, this might be your last chance ” Danica said with a pledging tone after that a sneaky smirk appeared on her face as her gaze suddenly darkened. Danica has always gotten whatever she desires; she's not used to accepting defeat and now that it seems that Giselle was about to gain control of Zayn right under her watch. she felt incredibly hurt that she couldn't hide her anger under the heavy makeup she wore. After laughing for a couple of minutes, Danica threw her bag upside down and brought out her phone. “Make sure, you don't miss the target this time. other, I'll have your heads chopped off ” she yelled as soon as the phone was connected. when she was done with her call, she went into the bathroom to freshen up for her next shoot. The living room, Everyone was done with lunch and Giselle was having a chat with her grandmother when she suddenly recalled her appointment with the doctor. She wanted to leave immediately but she had no idea what to tell the older women so she decided to stick around for a while. while they were still talking, her phone vibrated and when she looked at the screen a look of recognition crept onto her face. “Excuse me, grandma ”. “Mrs. Meyer, I just called call to confirm if you're still coming for your appointment with the doctor. Since she's about to leave for an urgent if you're still coming please hurry up” The sweet voice of a polite lady rang out from the other end of the phone as soon as the call was connected. “Yes sure. I'll be there as soon as I can. I'm sorry for the delay” Giselle said apologetically. After the call dropped. she went back to the lavishly decorated living room to say goodbye to the old couple and her aunt, Samantha before she left for the hospital. “I'm sorry grandma, grandpa but I need to leave now. an important something just came up. I'll come visiting as soon as I get the chance” She said placing a kiss on the old madam Medina's cheeks. Then she took her grandfather's blessing and left. But as soon as she took a few steps, Samantha came rushing towards her with a file of documents in her hands. “I'm sorry Giselle, I know you're in a big hurry but this document needs your signature; it's very urgent. Please read through it and sign it ”. She said handing her the file filled with several documents. which looks like it was going to take a decade reading through each page. Stuck in a difficult position, Giselle glanced at the wristwatch on her hand and she realized that there was not enough to read the documents. She decided to sign them without properly reading through them. moreover, her aunt Samanth, s the one asking her to sign a document, not some stranger; She trusts her aunt with everything including her life. Seeing the hesitant look on her face, Samantha decided to persuade her by saying, “These are just some documents from the Department stores. your signature is needed to finalize things”. “all right, then. I'll sign them now and you'll explain the details of the documents to me later, is that okay?” With that, she grabbed the pen and stamped her signature on the documents without reading through it first. Immediately she signed on it, she scurried out of the manor. Her driver, Josh was already waiting for her by the car, and as soon as he saw her coming. He opened the car door for her after he climbed into the driver's seat. “Take me to the hospital right now,” She said as soon as she was seated in the car. “Ma'am, is there a problem? Why do you need to go to the hospital all of a sudden? Are you feeling unwell? He asked with a tone of concern. “Just take me there now. I don't have much time to explain things to you. just go” The driver had a conflicted look on his face but he didn't dare to ask any more questions since he didn't want to get in trouble with the young master. He slammed on the gas, zooming off their destination. Although Ms. Giselle is not like the arrogant young lady of other influential families, she's still being respected. Meanwhile, Josh was having double thoughts about what he should do. A few days ago, the young master had assigned him with the responsibility of keeping him updated about the young madam's whereabouts. He had asked him to restrict reports everything about the young madam to him, including where she does and who she meets. In the past, Zayn never used to care about her existence nor how she's faring despite being married for so long. The young master had spent the last couple of years away from home, but suddenly he came back home and now he wants all the details about his wife to be reported to his table first thing in the morning and other things about her should be communicated to him through the phone. The young master was never this petty, but all of a sudden! Thinking about this, Josh didn't know what to do anymore. Immediately, they got to the hospital Giselle rushed out of the car. “Congratulations Miss, You're pregnant. You're going to have a baby soon! ” These words reverberated in her mind as she walked out of the office dejectedly. How is that even possible? how could she be possibly pregnant when she takes care of her body so well? She has always been careful of getting pregnant, that's why she made sure to take the pills and take the measures. Then how come the doctor says she's pregnant? . If Zayn were to find out that she was pregnant. Then, he might force her to have an abortion that's if she was truly pregnant. And she won't be able to forgive herself if anything happens to her unborn baby. Zayn had always been warned to be careful not to get pregnant with his child since he only wanted the woman he loved, Danica to bear his children. at least that's what he used to tell her and now she's used to hearing those words from him. Giselle tightened her grip on the reports on her hands as she continued to nurse the idea that the doctor's examination might be wrong. She hopes it would turn out negative. The doctor's examinations must be wrong in this case! She thought With that thought in mind. She decided to go to another hospital to have the doctor's report verified again by another doctor. Due to the unshed tears blurring her eyes, Giselle bumped into someone on her way out of the hospital. “I'm sorry, I'm sorry!” She continuously apologize as she ran out of the hospital without sparing a glance at the person she bumped into. Meanwhile, Danica was shocked to see her at the hospital in such a short time after she left the manor. which means that she had lied about her urgency. she had told everyone that she needed to go back because she had an important to handle but she ended up coming to the hospital instead. something is fishy about her creepy moments! “I need to find what she came here for in the first place,” Danica said as her eyes darted around. Danica had come to the hospital to have her hands stitched after she was sliced open a shard of glass earlier back at the manor. Looking at the nameplate in from of the office that Giselle came out from, Danica took a few steps and went into the place. “I'm sorry Miss, but I can't share my client's details with you. it's against our hospital's ethics”. The gynecologist said with a gentle voice that's laced with disdainfullness. “If you want to know anything you can ask the client directly. Please excuse me first” After saying that, she was about to ask Danica to leave. When Danica suddenly flared up with anger scaring the woman. “How dare you talk to me in that rude manner? Do you know who am I? It seems like you're ready to kiss your job goodbye. If you don't tell me everything I need to know about this person then I will have fired from this place, and you won't be able to get a job anywhere else in this city. I'll make of that. That would be a lesson to you not to mess with me in the future ”. Danica said as her gaze turned dark with anger. “S-She came for a checkup ” Coming out from the third hospital she had visited in the last one hour, Giselle wore a sad look on her face. Her eyes were tired and blurry, her legs twitched at every step she took while nails remained buried in her palms. How could she gather the courage to tell Zayn about this child? he was going to be so mad at her for not taking good care of her body and at the very least, he would suggest she had an abortion since he believes she wasn't fit to bear his child. With sorrow written all over her, she managed to drag her groggy body out of the hospital before she raised an alarm, and end up as the City's hot topic of gossip. People never run out of things to gossip about, and if she became a target of their gossips then her family and business will suffer that's why she tried to stay out of the media's clangor at all times. Zayn had never introduced her to the world as his wife neither had he given her mission to see herself as one. Today was supposed to be their third wedding anniversary, yet she's wandering in the streets all alone with no one to accompany her. Using a veil to cover their head, she crossed to the other side of the road to board a cab. since she had sent Josh back to the blue diamond manor to avoid his constant suspicious questions. She wasn't ready to let the cat out of the bag yet. “What? How is that even possible? Giselle can't be pregnant. You must be mistaken ”. Danica screamed out after the doctor told her about the result of Giselle's checkup. “That's what the results says” “That's fine. I want this to be left between us; no one else should know about this. did you understand?” She threw a few bundles of cash at her. “You know what will happen if you told anyone else ”. With that, she walked away from the hospital.
