Chapter 5 Tantrums and schemes

(Back at Mr Danlade's residence, a woman enjoys her view when she's suddenly interrupted)

Miss Davidson's POV.

I hate her! I hate her! I hate her!" A loud shriek comes from downstairs following the crash of what I assume are the flower vases in the living room.

"I wonder who crossed Victoria this time?" I wonder pausing my activity at the vanity table. She gave me q fright! Good thing i didn't ruin my make up for tonight is the night he returns and just this once I need everything to be perfect.

"Vidy go attend to Victoria and see to it that she's taken to her room, you may leave now." I dismiss the maid who was tidying my hair.

"Yes, Mme." She replies before heading downstairs. The words Mme leave a sour taste in my mind. Eight years, eight long years, and I couldn't make him forget that wench. But no worries tonight he will be mine no matter what else I am not Delilah.

I let my eyes roam around the room taking in my hard work with satisfaction. From the roses to the candles lined on the floor everything is perfect.

"Let's see how that old man manages to resist me," I smirk deeming the lights in the room. I run my hand through my hair admiring myself in the mirror. I marvel at how smooth my face appears thanks to the hours of make up, my blue lingerie suits it perfectly and my shoulder length hair doesn't look so as it frames my face perfectly. Guilt or not he won't be able to ignore me tonight and to prevent any mishaps I used his room instead.

"Jake is mine! Only mine! I won't let anyone take him away from me! No one can! I kill them, I'll kill them all!" Victoria continues screaming downstairs, foolish child! She'll ruin all my plans. Seems like u really can't count on her anymore but after tonight I pray heaven blesses me with a son then even if the past comes up there's nothing that mother and daughter pair can do. After a few more glances at my image I sign and stand up from my cushion.

"Looks like I'll have to deal with her myself." I walk out of the bedroom leisurely taking my time to descend. I will not ruin the pedicure I paid a fortune for just for this girl who always seems to cause trouble!

"I tried to get her under control ma'am but she...." Vidy trues explaining,

"Leave us."

"Yes." She exists the room swiftly probably reliefed I didn't punish her. What can I say, Blake's return after six months has left me in a very good mood.

"Why are you creating such a ruckus so late at night? Have I taught you nothing!" Are the first words that leave my mouth once I take in Victoria's unkept condition. Isn't that the dress she just got on an impulse to compete with a girl in her social circle. It cost me a fortune for heaven's sake!

"She's back a..and she'll t..ta..take him aw..away from me! Mom" She runs into my arms as soon as I descend the last step, dissolving into a crying mess.

"I should have known it's got something to do with Jake, tell me which girl am I to ruin this time?" I whisper rubbing her back to soothe her. If I had it my way I'd find her a new prospect but Lord knows he's loaded and my daughter deserves nothing but the best.

"Alanna," she hiccups continuously breaking her speech. Did she just say what I think she did? Pausing my actions I take her out of my hold and search her eyes.

"Wh..what did you say?" I stutter slightly gripping her arms tightly, she must feel how nervous I am because she calls down a little and starts talking immediately wearing a pout on her face.

"Alanna's back and she took my Jakie from me!" Slowly she starts to explain the events at the party she's from and every sentence leaves my blood cold. Not even her runny nose and ruined mascara distract me from the dread that takes over my body. She's back and she's going to destroy us!

"She took him away from me and I can't do anything about it!" She cries thumping her feet like a spoiled child.

"What about her mother, did she return too?"

"Mom..I'm talking about how I could lose Jake forever and all you care about is Mrs Dan..."

"Don't you dare!" I yell furious,

"Don't you dare call her that I am the only Mrs in this house do you hear me?" I pronounce angrily startling her. She shrinks back and gulps with her head lowered.

"Yes Mom." She answers meekly. I take in a deep breath before walking up to her. I take her hands in mine and attempt wiping the dried up tears on her face.

"Mommy won't let that happen ok, JR is only yours. Besides I destroyed her once so I certainly can do that again!" I say after getting over the initial shock of Alanna's return. Curse that mother and daughter pair, they just don't know when to give up now do they.

"Vidy Vidy V..."

"Yes ma'am," she rushes into the living room once again.

"Call up Mr. Danlade's secretary and ask if they're already at the airport."

"Right away,"I must make my move tonight! I pat Victoria's hands to get her attention.

"Don't worry dear, I'll tell you exactly what you should do." Indicating with my finger for her to come closer I pass on the idea I have. Her occasional giggles are amusing and it's just the confirmation I need of her feelings for Jake.

"Are you sure he will?" She goes crimson red smiling shyly. It's a sight to behold indeed.

"Yes." I chuckle lightly tucking a loose strand of her red hair behind her ear, the only feature sge didn't inherit from me.

"I got rid of the two of them before, Alanna alone will be a piece of cake."
