Chapter 8 Jealous Classmates

"I owe you ten thousand dollars for the watch.

However, I subtracted the fifty dollars you owe me after I washed your clothes for you a few days ago.

The rest of the money is here.

Please take it and don't pester me for it anymore,"

Garry said, looking down at Larson, who was still seated with a shocked expression on his face.

"Do you want to die, you idiot?"

Larson finally got over the shock and banged his fist on his desk.

The entire classroom was so silent that you could hear a pin drop.

The other students held their breaths and stared at Garry in astonishment.

They couldn't believe that the coward in their class could dare to do such a thing to Larson.

Clayton Stanley was even more shocked by what happened.

He pounded his desk and stood up.

He then asked in disbelief, "Where did you get so much money, Garry? Did you steal it?"

"Steal? Garry is a chicken.

He can't steal to save his life.

Have you heard that there are many predators on the loose who target college students?

I think he sold his body to one of them!"

A beautiful girl who had long slender legs sprang to her feet and aired her own thoughts.

Garry's eyebrows furrowed as he glanced at her.

This girl was named Celia Benton.

She was the most beautiful girl in the class and Larson's girlfriend.

She always looked down her nose at Garry.

Thus, it didn't come as a surprise to him that she felt he prostituted to get the money.

Not bothering to explain to his snobbish and judgy classmates, Garry came up with an excuse.

"It might interest you to know that I won the lottery.

And I got ten thousand dollars here in coins."

"Wow!" the crowd exclaimed in surprise.

"You actually won the lotto? You're so lucky.

How much are your winnings, Garry?"

Celia asked in a curious voice.

"Since it was so easy for him to pay back all the money, he must've won a lot, at least ten thousand or twenty thousand," Larson said in a voice filled with envy.

His family just went bankrupt, but such a poor guy like Garry would be so lucky. This was really unfair!

"I only won twenty thousand dollars."

Garry said a small figure on purpose but that did not dissipate his classmates' excitement.

Twenty thousand dollars was no small amount. It was enough for an ordinary college student to live off of for a whole semester.

Larson's annoyance was getting obvious. How could such a poor wretch win twenty thousand dollars?

So he said loudly, "Garry, since you are so lucky, why don't you invite all the classmates out for a meal?"

"Hooray! Invite us out for a meal!"

Many students who were initially green with envy suddenly cheered hearing this.

At this moment, a long-haired girl got up and said,

"That's enough!

It's not easy for Garry to come by this money. Why are you all trying to steal it away from him?"
