"Dang! Did that photoshoot take that much energy out of you?" Tamera laughed as they all squeezed past me into my room. Tamera and Candy dropped onto my bed while Ally hopped on top of my desk and Chloe sat on my desk chair.
"Go take a quick shower, we will pick out your outfit." Ally instructed waving me towards my bathroom.Looking around at them and I sighed, realizing they weren't going to take no for an answer.
Once showered and dressed in the outfit they had picked out for me we headed off towards town. I had expected us to take a car or something, but instead we walked. Chloe claiming that it was a nice time to enjoy the natural nature outside the school heading into the human world.
"It's like taking in a breath of pure oxygen." She explained, taking a deep breath and sighing on her exhale. "Just try and see if you can feel the difference."
I followed her lead, joining her in taking deep breaths. I had to admit, she was right. Although the air on campus wasn't bad, something about the natural smell of the world in its cycle was so much more satisfying. On campus it was like a constant spring and summer, but outside, it was on the brink of summer and fall and you could smell it in the air.
It didn't take us too long to get to town, I could see the tall building where I was last night in the distance where the town became part of the city, but here, it was like a small village. Complete with cute little coffee shop and fancy boutiques filled with students from the school and rich human teens from the nearby boarding school. The pizza place we ate at the other night was a couple blocks south from here, but a young guy gave us a flyer with coupons as we passed him.
"So I never asked, or checked, but how much is the monthly allowance?" I asked, looking around at all the stores and restaurants around.
"Oh, don't worry. We all get around Two and a half grand a month from the school to spend on anything we want or need." Candy states. "You can check your balance on this app." She held up her phone to show the app, its icon looked like an ancient Roman coin.
"Two grand!" I squeak out in shock as she reaches in my bag and pulled out my tablet.
"Here, you need your face to unlock the app...got it. Yup, you have Two thousand, five hundred dollars on your card. See." I gaped at the screen as Candy held it up in front of my face.
"I've never had so much money in my life." I whispered as the others began chattering about where to start, not hearing me.
"Do you have anything you need or want Hadie?" Ally asked, pulling me back to the conversation.
I look up from my tablet as they all turned to me. I stuttered over my words, still collecting myself, before answering. "Well, I-I don't have a lot. I guess I'd like to get some stuff for school and a couple more outfits to wear on the weekends."
Ally nodded and pointed to a store with shirtless guys posing and handing out flyers to passing shoppers. "They have some good stuff there." She stated, earning eye rolls from Candy and Tamera.
"Yes, I'm sure your heterosexual brain is so interested in what they are selling there." Tamera laughed. "No, but seriously, they do have a sale going on today that I was wanted to see."
"Is that Blaine? He's a Love God. I didn't know he got a job here!" Ally whispered as we approached the store, smiling at the blonde guy with green eyes posing like a Greek statue as he smiled back.
Tamera knuckle bumped him as we passed with a nod before we entered the store. "Yeah, Blaine got volunteered since he missed the last few photoshoots he was booked for. This is like detention for us. I'm not even sure if he is getting paid, I think the money is going to the photographers he blew off...Oo! Crop tops!"
Tamera ran towards a rack and began pulling tops that she liked while the others went to different racks around the store. Looking around the store it felt a little chaotic, the music was so loud I could barely hear myself think and the lights were dimmed as if we were in a night club instead of store. I spotted a couple more shirtless male employees dancing near the changing rooms while checking in customers to try on clothes. Over by the registers two girls in crop tops and shorts sang along to the music between transactions, complimenting people on their choices as they scanned and bagged them.
I quickly spotted the clearance rack and began going thru the items there, intending to save as much of my allowance as I could for a laptop and cellphone. Picking out some ripped mom jeans, a couple pairs of leggings and some crop tops feeling pleased with my finds.
"Hey Hadie! You should get this! I found it and instantly thought of you." Chloe yelled over the music behind me.
Turning around to look and I found a black strappy bralette in her hands, holding it up against my chest and smiling. I looked at it tilting my head from side to side. I have never worn a bralette before and wasn't even sure if I could actually pull it off. I looked back up at Chloe's smiling face, a frown etched into my own.
"Before you say anything, hear me out. If you don't like showing too much skin, just pair it with a jacket and mom jeans. Plus, there is a party tonight that the Creation Gods are hosting, you could wear it there tonight." She insisted putting the top in my arms with my other picks.
Ally walked up behind her smiling at the bralette in my arm. "Oh yes! You better get it! We can get some jewelry to go with our new outfits next door at Morton's Jewelers."
"I don't know if I should be splurging that much with my allowance." I tell her, shaking my head.
"Well then my treat! I'll use my family account to get us some cute bling." She insisted, "And don't refuse, it's not polite to refuse a gift." Ally winked at me before heading towards the counter to pay for the rack of clothes she had picked out. She literally had a racks of items waiting for her with the two at the counter. I gawked for a moment before Chloe nudged me.
"Ally gets money from her parents. They are constantly competing with each other for her affection and she takes full advantage of it. So don't feel bad if she buys you anything. Just accept it with a smile." She turned back towards the rack she had been looking at and pulled a couple more items out before heading to check out as well.
I held up the bralette and then went to find a pair of jeans and a jacket or top that would look good with it. After finding a nice low cut white shirt and a pair of black mom jeans, I made my way to the the small shoe section the store had at the back wall, finding a comfortable pair of sneakers and some black and white strappy stiletto heels that would go with the bralette outfit.
Deciding that was good for this store I headed to check out. The total came to a whopping three hundred and fifty dollars for everything and I nearly choked on my own breath.
I had never in my life spent even half of that amount at a store on clothes for myself. When the group home took us shopping we always went to second hand stores or we would get donations directly, the only thing I ever got brand new had been underwear and socks.
I walked out with Tamera and Candy, finding Ally and Chloe leaving the jewelry store next door. Ally had so many bags I began to wonder how we were going to walk home with everything. She smiled big as she spotted us and began distributing out bags to each of us.
"Happy Saturday!" She cheered. We all looked into the bags she gave us and gasped at what we found. A limited edition designer bag, each a different color and style.
"Ally, you shouldn't have." I told her as I pulled out the bag, it was faux leather, but it felt real with perfect stitches and a 'cruelty free' label inside the bag. It was large enough to fit my school books and tablet with outside pockets for smaller items like a phone, keys or wallet.
"Look inside it!" She sang excitedly.
I looked over at Tamera and Candy, them reaching inside their bags and pulling out smaller bags with jewelry boxes inside. The first box that Tamera opened held a necklace with a gold letter T pendant that held a diamond in the center, while Candy's first box held a pair was silver dangly earrings. I looked down at my bag and reached inside pulling out a box myself. Inside the first box was a white gold necklace like Tamera's but with an H and a sapphire at the tip of the letter, the second was an onyx ring with small sapphires framing the black stone.
It was beautiful, reminding me of the night sky. When I looked up at Ally she smiled excitedly at me as I pulled the ring out for a closer look. "Ally, I don't know what to say." I gasp, finding the ring fit perfectly. "How did you know my ring size?"
"Well, firstly, all you have to say is thank you," she beamed at me, "and secondly, I wasn't certain but I felt like you and Chloe had similar finger sizes so I went off of her size."
"Thank you, I can't believe you really did this." I felt my eyes burn with the threat of tears. I've never had anyone get me anything this thoughtful before.
"Where to next ladies?" Tamera asked, putting her gifts back in the shopping bag.
"How about the cosmetic store?" Candy asked. "Then some food. I can feel the hangry fits coming on soon."
"I was hoping to get a laptop and phone while we are here." I piped up, putting my own gifts away and holding the bag in the same hand as my other shopping bags.
"Alright, Cosmetics, lunch, then the technology store. Anyone else have any places they want to hit up? We have to be back to school by five to start getting ready for the party." Chloe stated, pulling out her own phone to check the time.
We ended up going to several more clothing stores and Ally insisted on spending more money on me when I started to attempt to stop looking at clothes to save my monthly allowance. By the time we finished with the shopping, I had almost as many bags as Ally had. Almost. My question on how to get them back to campus was answered as Candy ordered us a ride share in order to get everything we bought back easier.
It was 4:50 when we got back and into the Fertility House. I pushed my way into my dorm room and dropped my bags onto the floor by my bed, collapsing into it with a sigh. Chloe had advised us all that we should all start getting ready for the party since it would be starting at seven.
Sighing as I looked at my new phone a message came through surprising me.
Candy: Want me to do your make up?
I smiled and sat up as I replied.
Hadie: Yes please! Thnx!
Candy: Bet, I'll be up with my make up kit in about thirty mins. I'm hoping in the shower now.
Hadie: Sounds good, see you in thirty.
I stood up and went into my bathroom to take a quick shower, bringing my phone and new wireless speakers with me to play music. Tamera and Candy had helped me set up a subscription to their favorite online music app and shared their playlists with me. With music on, I hopped in my shower, washing up I thought about how different my life had become in a matter of only a few days.
A week ago I was in the group home, avoiding fights, hiding anything I had of value so it wasn't stolen and just surviving day to day with no idea what the future held for me.
Now I was a goddess, but more importantly, I had friends, something I had always wished for. Not even as a little girl did I have any close friend that I could recall. I was always so shy and the moment it seemed I was making a new friend, I was swept away to a new family, a new school and back to being too shy to talk to my classmates. Eventually I had given up on even trying.
Stepping out of the shower, I wrapped a towel around myself and walked out of the bathroom to my room, dumping my bags out on my bed and looking for the bralette outfit I had bought for the night.
I had decided to wear my onyx ring and the necklace with a letter H on it. As it turned out Ally and gotten us all matching necklaces with our first initials on them to wear as friendship necklaces. Each had stone placed somewhere on the letters, but while Tamera had gold, Candy and Chloe had silver, I had white gold and Ally had picked rose gold for herself and Lily. She said she chose the colors she thought would flatter us all the most. I smiled as I clipped the necklace around my neck and admired how is rested just between my collar bones, out of the way of the criss cross straps of my top.
As soon as I was dress, my hair up in the hair wrap Tamera had given me, I began folding the rest of the clothes I had gotten in town, placing them in stacks of tops and bottoms on my bed before moving to put away the cosmetics and hair supplies. I had finished putting away my shoes and other accessories that Ally had spoiled me with and began moving my wallet and key chain over to the new bag when I heard a knock at my door. Looking at the time on my phone it was 5:35 meaning the knock was probably Candy. I got up and opened the door for her to come in and smiled in surprise as Tamera followed her in.
"Hey! I heard you guys were getting ready together so I invited myself!" She said as she kissed the air by my ear. "You don't mind right?"
"Not at all. You can show me how to use this hair dryer brush you told me to buy." I replied, pointing to the crazy device on my on my desk.
"I can do that." She laughed, setting her bag next to my new brush as I closed the door behind her. "First, where is that heat protection spray you got? We will want to use it to protect your hair from the heat."
"I got it!" Candy called from my bathroom, coming out holding my new make up bag and the hair products I bought. "You work on her hair and I'll do her make up. Then you can do my hair and I'll do your make up."
They sat me down and got to work on my hair and make up, refusing to allow me to look in a mirror when they were done. "We will take a group photo before we leave and you can see how you look then." Candy stated as Tamera began doing her hair while she started to apply her own make up.
I watched in awe as she skillfully worked around Tamera, putting on a perfect wing liner after blending her eye shadow. When she was done and Tamera finished her hair, she began to apply Tamera's make up before Tamera started on her own hair.
As Tamera was diffusing her curls I heard a knock on my door, Candy jumping up and opening the door since she was closest. Chloe came in, fully ready for the night followed by Ally and to my surprise, Lily.
"There you two are!" Chloe greeted, "I went to both your rooms before realizing you were here. Why didn't you text us? We would have joined the pre-party too."
Candy laughed as she closed my bedroom door, the room suddenly feeling a bit smaller than it was. "You see how much room there is for all six of us right? Could you imagine us all attempting to get ready like this?"
Chloe looked around as she sank onto my bed, careful not to knock over my folded clothes. "I guess you got a point." She laughed, patting the mattress next to her for Ally and Lily to sit. I sat on the floor, strapping on my stilettos.
All three looked like true goddesses. Chloe and Lily each in all black and Ally in a rose pink lolita style halter dress. Ally smiled at me. "Hadie! You look amazing!" She cooed, leaning forward on my bed towards me. Her smile was warm and adorable as she gazed over me.
"Thank you, I'll take your word for it, Candy and Tamera haven't let me look in the mirror yet." I reply with a laugh.
"She can see herself when we take our pre-party photo." Candy stated, handing Tamera a wide tooth comb to tease her roots.
After another twenty minutes, Tamera was done with her hair and we were all officially ready for the party. We left my dorm room making a stop in the common area to have one of the other goddesses in the house take our picture for us with Candy's phone. We gathered in front of the stone hearth together and posing for the group photo.
About four pictures in Candy thanked the girl and took back her phone, sliding through the shots, slowly examining each one before declaring she found the perfect shot and sending it to each of us. "I'll post it to my DeitusSpace page and tag you all too." She stated as my phone dinged, notifying me that I had a message.
"I haven't set one up yet." I replied, looking at my phone to see the message. I gasped when I saw myself for the first time that night, barely recognizing myself. Candy and Tamera had created a master piece with my hair and make up. Orange and yellow eyeshadow blended out, making my grey eyes appear closer to blue, like a sunset over water. My hair was curled into soft waves, far different than my usual frizzed strands. I truly looked like the goddess I was.
"Don't worry about setting up a page. The school automatically does when you enroll. It should be all on your tablet, and we synched your phone to your tablet so it should be on your phone now too." Tamera told me as she tapped on her own phone, posting the picture to you page.
I began getting more notifications on my phone from an app with a golden gates on the icon, DeitusSpace. The notifications were telling me I had been tagged in photos. Opening the app as we began walking towards the door, I saw that I did in fact have a page and grimaced when I saw that my profile picture was the photo ID from my previous school before coming to Deitus Academy. I quickly changed it to a cropped picture of myself from the group photo. I would change it again later, but at least the photo didn't look like a mug shot now.
It was eight pm now and I could hear the music coming from the party as we stepped out the door. There was a crowd of students walking together, chatting and laughing as they headed in the direction of the noise, my own group joining them, chatting together about what to expect from the party. Tamera told me how the Creation Gods always do it up big and Ally mentioned that her brother was amongst the planners of tonights party, stating that she would introduce me to him if we ran into him at the party.
This was my first big party. I had never been invited to one, nor had the guts to sneak out even if I had been. I remembered some of the girls in the group home had often gone to parties, sneaking out past curfew and more times than not, getting caught when they would sneak back in drunk or high. I was excited to see what the hype was. If movies did campus parties justice or if it would fall short of my expectations. The closer we got the louder the music became, my excitement growing with each thumb of the bass. I wondered if I'd be able to dance with a guy, or better yet, maybe I'd get to experience my first kiss.
I startled myself as the thought of going further than a kiss with someone could happen tonight. Wondering if it would be an opportunity to lose my virginity, the idea making me nervous just as Evander came to mind and I felt my cheeks start to burn.
As if I had summoned him with those thoughts, I felt an arm drape over my shoulders and looked up to find Evander smiling down at me. "Hey Little Warrior, you look hot! I almost didn't recognize you without dirt and sweat on ya." He teased, walking along with me, keeping his arm over my shoulder.
I stared at him in shock for a moment before mentally slapping myself and thanking him, telling him he cleaned up well himself. I looked to the other end of my little group and found Alaric walking besides Lily, both whispering to each other as Ally frowned at her sister.
"You ready for this party?" Evander asked, drawing my attention back to him.
"Oh, yeah. I've never been to a party before. I'm pretty excited." I told him looking ahead as colorful lights began flashing from the Creators House. "This is like something from an old 90s movie."
Evander laughed, "Yeah, Alaric really goes all out. If this is your first party, well then get ready for a culture shock Little Warrior."
"Alaric?" I questioned, looking over at the other god.
"Yeah, he's the choose Prefect over there, came to War house to pre party with me."
Tamera pulled me towards her and out from under Evander's arm. "Is he bothering you Hadie?" She asked, glaring at Evander.
"I wasn't bothering her Tammy. Don't be jealous." Evander stated, putting his hands behind his head as we enter the front yard of the party house. "Catch you later on Little Warrior."
Evander walked off with Alaric and Lily, giving me a wink and shooting Tamera a cocky grin as she continued to glare at him.
"Be careful with my cousin Hadie. He is a player. He has fooled around with every straight or bi goddess in the Love and Beauty House. He's broken a lot of hearts. No matter what they believe, he won't ever be serious with a girl, not until my uncle finds him a bride. Till then, he plays with any east goddess he can get."
As if on cue, Anne appeared out of no where, throwing herself at Evander. Her skirt was so short I could see her ass poking from the bottom and her bralette may have been a couple sizes too small. I frowned, trying my best not to slut shame her in my mind, but failing miserably as I watched her run her hand down Evander's arm.
"Ugh, Anne is such a skank." Tamera growled beside me. "I swear the girl doesn't know how to shop for her own size. And I don't think she's even wearing underwear. Note to self, don't sit anywhere she sat first."
I snorted, covering my mouth to muffle my own laughter. Tamera smiled, looking over at me before she continued to criticize Anne's outfit. Candy laughed joining in as she caught what Tamera was saying and the two of them nearly had me crying with laughter as they roasted the blonde goddess. I had never been a catty girl, but something about Anne had brought it out of me, or maybe it was just Anne hanging on Evander that did it to me. Though I had no claim to Evander, I only met him yesterday, I was drawn to him and I was absolutely jealous of Anne hanging on him, pressing her body so close against him. I lost track of where her body began and his ended.
Our group split up when we got inside the door. Ally wondering off to find Lily, Chloe walking up to a guy in the corner, and Candy and Tamera led me to the kitchen to get some drinks. They encouraged me to stay close to them if I was nervous as they handed me a blue liquid in a shot glass.
Taking the shot I felt my body involuntarily shudder as it burned down my throat. My first drink at my first party. I felt something inside me begin to flourish and as I spotted several guys checking me out, I felt the confidence that Tamera had promised to build in me last night finally make a show. Tonight, a new Hadria would be born, I could feel it.
