Chapter 6 Talking assistant

I know I said I'm not going to work here, but I decided at the last minute. My siblings are relying on me, I can't afford to allow my personal decision to affect them.

I walk with her towards the private elevator. The workers weren't discreet as they watched us, I can feel their heated looks on my back.

But I ignored them.

It's of no use showing them how nervous I am.

Yesterday I rejected all notion of working in the office and here I am walking towards the CEO's office.

The irony of life.

I sighed loudly.

She pressed the button on the sixth floor.

I guess the egomaniac guy is proud to a core.

An access code was required before we can access the floor.

She pressed the keys, waiting for the elevator to ding.

Must he act egomaniac all the time?

“The whole of the sixth and seventh floor belongs to Mr Sly and the two floors are the only ones a pin or key card is requested before you can access the floors”, She explained without I questioning her.

She's probably one of those people who talk without been asked.

Walking through the floors to the office made me question all I've thought beautiful.

“Wow,” I look around in awe," this place is so out of the world.” I gushed, despite how Stoic I was at first.

She chuckled, “I know that feeling. When I came up here for the first time, I was in awe. I stood right here on this same spot for half an hour.

Had it not been for the interruption I got, who knows, I might have stayed here for all eternity.” She chuckled at her words, “If you think here's spectacular, wait until you see his pent house”, she whispered in excitement.

“Have you been there before?” I widen my eyes in question.

She shook her head," unfortunately, I haven't been there. But I will grab any opportunity that comes my way to see his spectacular house”, she clapped her hands in excitement.

“How did you know it's spectacular without being there?” I raise a brow at her as I resisted the urge to scoff at her.

“The janitor told me, but he made me swear an oath not to tell anyone”, she looked at me, “but you are not anyone, you're his assistant.”

I turned towards her in mock surprise, “really?”

I'm not just anyone?

She nodded, “it came as a surprise to me when he told me of you, for a long as I can remember, I've never had a personal assistant and his secretary was a childhood friend of his.

He has not indicated until yesterday that he wanted a secretary since his friend relocated to Spain.

Let her talk as much as she wants.

“I would have exchanged with you if it were to b possible, but”, she motioned for me to come closer," I want to know every juicy tidbit of secret you might come upon”, she made a motion of crossing her heart," I promise I won't tell anyone about it, your secrets will be safe with me”.

As if I will dare.

Telling the world my secrets will be better than telling her, at least I'm the one who told the entire world about it, but with her, she will spread the words behind your back.

Of course, I didn't tell her that, I just nodded to her words, “I will if I have one.”

She smiled in triumph.

I solved the matter without any quarrel, it's of no use telling her that I won't and risk having an enemy my first day of work and not counting Bitchy who's probably at an office somewhere.

Talking of Bitchy, “do you by chance know where the new lady is working?”

I don't want to risk an unnecessary encounter with her if I can help it.

She frowned, “are you by chance related to her?”

I shook my head, “no, I met her yesterday during the interview”, my horror must have been written plainly on my face.

She smiled, “thank the Lord for that, any friend of BB is my enemy.”

I can recall none of her names starts with a B,

“BB?”

Maybe she's mistaken Bitchy for another new girl.

“That's what I named her, that girl is a bitchy bitch, insulting anyone she sees, she doesn't recognize who her seniors are. Another secret”, she leaned towards me, “I don't think she will last this week. I don't know why she was employed, her qualifications are below the requirements. I'm equally happy as I am confused that it was the boss who interviewed you.

She walked towards one of the two doors on the entire floor.

“Ta-da, we're here”, she opened the door and ushered me into the most breathtaking office I've ever seen.

The offices portrayed in movies held no candle to its opulence.

“Wow right?”

I nodded absent-mindedly, my mind was occupied by the beauty in front of me, the blinds were drawn and from here you can see half of the town and people going to their different destinations.

The milky tone of the paint was in sharp contrast to the leather chairs, a table with the latest computer model was in the middle, and the settings and designs of the entire office are to die for.

“You even got to have a private bathroom to yourself, not mentioning the view. I heard from your predecessor that the view here is magnificent at night", her countenance dulled, "but I didn't get a chance to experience it before she left. I missed my opportunities than”, her face brightened, “now I have you, I don't want such opportunity to slip by me.”

“I would rather not dull your enthusiasm, but my work schedule ends at 6 pm every day.”

She smiled, “it's true, but on some days, he works late and you as his PA stays until he is true with what he's working on.

“Good riddance”, I sighed, a chuckle interrupted my peaceful mussing.
