"Don't let it happen again or you will both be put in detention," She furiously warned, so both of them just nodded before proceeding back into their seats.
They both sighed in relief before they started opening their books, "That was a close one, good thinking, August," Athena complimented, so she just winked at her.
"Felines always know to please people around them, so you can leave that to me all the time," August secretly chuckled.
Athena just smiled before glancing at her side, that's where she saw that man named Azure sleeping like the class was nothing to him.
'Why is the teacher not noticing this?' She thought while shaking her head, she's minding other creatures' business again.
She had too much today, so she has to restrain herself from getting more involved with a lot of these people.
Both of them decided to listen to the lesson as the professor kept on calling them two for punishment, "Alright, Athena, what is black magic and its three forbidden words?"
Everyone was surprised at what she just asked of Athena, but she slowly stood up and confidently stood right in front of everyone.
"Black magic is not born from this world, it was formed and taken after an illegal death of someone, just like what made the Pitch Demon the Pitch Demon," Athena answered.
The witch teacher raised her eyebrows when she realized that she hadn't answered the last question, "How about the last question?"
Everyone was just silent as they all kept on looking at her like she was some kind of experiment in the laboratory.
"I'm sorry ma'am, but I believe that those words are forbidden to say even if I'm just a Wight," She answered firmly, so everyone was surprised.
Some of them we're judging her on the inside and some of them are getting amused at the confidence that she has.
The teacher just smirked, "Very good, but a Wight like you can say that because you're a non-magical creature,"
August slammed her fists on her armchair, "Teacher, I believe that is not a very nice thing to say," She hissed.
"Did I ask you to speak, Ms. August Marie Almas?" She glared at her, so August clenched her fists before worriedly looking at Athena.
She looks like she was not bothered by what the teacher just said to her, "No ma'am, I'm sorry, but I really can't say those words," Athena politely replied.
"I will fail you on this subject if you don't answer this," The teacher threatened, so her eyes widened.
Everyone around the room looks surprised, but some of them like the idea of her failing the subject, in that way, she would lose her scholarship.
"Athy, you don't have to say it if you're too uncomfortable," August whispered while she was restraining herself.
"But you can't fail, right?" She added, so Athena just gave her a small nod before closing her eyes to calm herself down and smile.
'It's okay Athena, you can do this, nothing will happen if you say it because you're a Wight, a non-magical creature' She comforted herself inside of her mind.
Athena exhaled out a lungful of air before looking at her teacher, she clutched her chest and was about to say those words when someone stood up, right beside her.
"Idiot, are you really going to say those words? Do you want to die?" Azure coldly spoke beside her, so she flinched before glancing at him.
He looked so furious before looking at the teacher in their front, "And you, are you dumb, stupid, or both?" He asked, which surprised every one because of his rude tone.
"What did you just say to me?! Do you want detention, Mr. Arison?!" The witch raised her tone, but he didn't mind her.
"According to Section 8 number 5 in the handbook about violations, teachers, students, or any other creatures are not allowed to say those forbidden words unless they're are permitted by the heads to do so," He coldly informed everyone, so the teacher was surprised.
He raised something and revealed to everyone that he was recording everything that has happened, "You're making her say things that are forbidden, both of you could lose access to this academy if you make her say that,"
"Are you sure you want to take the fall for this? After all, we have lots of witnesses here, you can't lie or alter our minds," Azure firmly said, so the teacher just clenched her fists.
It was silent for a moment as Athena felt sweaty on her palms because she was too nervous about what was going on around her.
"Sit down, Ms. Lumine," The teacher said before giving them an early out, everyone was still surprised at what just happened but they all just went out of the room leaving Athena, August, and Azure on the inside.
"T-Thank you, Azure," Athena finally breathed while biting her lower lip, "I owe you for what happened a while ago," She whispered.
"I don't need anything from a Wight like you, next time, don't be dumb like that teacher," After he said those words, he left.
"That piece of little–!" August was about to give him a piece of her mind when Athena stopped her.
"It's alright, August, he's always like that ever since a while ago, but he kept on saving me from these kinds of situations," She mumbled.
August just sighed because she also just can't be mad at that guy because he saved Athena from getting into deep trouble.
"I'll let it slide this time, but next time, he wouldn't be able to say those words to you or anyone else," She mumbled, so Athena just smiled.
She clutched her chest before standing up, "Alright, let's go meet up with Alodia again!" Athena exclaimed before dragging her out of the room.
It wasn't long until they arrived at the secret place of Alodia and they were astounded upon seeing her reading a lot of floating books around her.
"Oh good, you're both here, come see these people that I found suspicious," She pointed at the book that contains pictures.
"These are the people that excel in our classes, the three of them were highly skilled in making potions or using magic, and also, they know how to use black magic," Alodia informed them.
"Woah! You made all this in just 30 minutes?" Athena was amazed, so she blushed before nodding.
"W-Well yeah, um, I did, and why are you two early by the way?" She curiously asked, so they both just flinched.
"Nothing, just pay us no mind," August replied, so she looked at those two and both of them looked nervous.
"O-Okay then? So, one of them had a fling on Armani before, her name is Ariel, she's one of the smartest ones in our class, actually the top one I guess," Alodia informed them.
Both Athena and August stared at that picture intently, she doesn't look like the type that does those, especially even if Armani was mean to her.
Athena thought her grandma was right, she should never judge a person by their appearances, "She looks nice," August commented while crossing her arms against her chest.
"I've seen her before but I can't pinpoint where and maybe we should start following her tomorrow," She suggested.
"I agree, it's getting late and tomorrow would be the best time since it's almost the ending of the first day of classes," Alodia assumed.
"It's just the first day and I feel like there's a lot of things that have happened already," Athena claimed, so both of them just nodded at her.
"Okay then, tomorrow at lunch, let's start looking for this Ariel, if not her, then we should look at those two options left," Alodia replied, "Though it would be difficult since they hint of black magic will probably faint, but it will still be visible if one is skilled to read it,"
Athena nodded at her, "Okay, we're counting on you tomorrow, Alodia, do you guys want to go out of school together?" She invited them.
Both August and Alodia just stared at her intently before smiling, "How can we refuse such a sweet offer?" August replied, so she just smiled at them.
All of them decided to fix themselves and went out of that secret room, they were just talking about one another about the basic stuff that they don't know about each other.
"You're 17? That means you're one year older than us!" Athena exclaimed, so Alodia shyly nodded at her.
"Yeah, but I'm still a first-year just like you two, so yeah there's not much difference," She mumbled, which made Athena smile.
"Thank you for speaking to me," Alodia whispered, so both of them looked at her intently, "No one doesn't want to talk to me in class and now I just can't believe that I'm speaking with someone, and take note there's two,"
August shook her head before chuckling, "I can already tell this year is going to be interesting indeed, especially since we're friends with the smartest person in this academy," She glanced at Athena, making her flinch.
"A-Are you talking about me?" She pointed to herself, so August just nodded at her happily with her tail wagging like she was excited.
"I-I'm not that smart," Athena anxiously claimed, so both of them just chuckled because she looked so embarrassed.
"There's no need to be shy with it," August winked before glancing at where they are right now, "Oh shoot, time runs so fast when you're having fun," She sighed.
Athena and Alodia just agreed with her, "Well anyways, today was fun, so see you tomorrow, guys!" August waved her hand's goodbye, so Alodia and Athena said goodbye to each other before parting ways.
Athena was smiling ear to ear when she got home, they were still judgmental people around just like what her grandmother warned her, but at least she gained friends.
She would treasure them for life, "Looks like someone had a great first day," Her grandma greeted, so she flinched before lowering her head at her.
"I'm home, grandma and yes, I had a blast," Athena happily informed her, so her grandma just stared at her intently.
She just smiled when she noticed that it was genuine, she clutched to her chest before sighing in relief.
"That's great to hear, dear, come here and eat dinner, you have to tell me about what happened today," Her grandma requested, so she excused herself to take a bath before joining her for dinner.
"So you gained two friends huh? Are there people that are too harsh to you?" Her grandma curiously asked, so she thought about it for a moment.
"U-Um, I can't remember, I always just wanted to remember the good times, but there was this teacher that was forcing me to say the three black magic words that are forbidden," She informed, so her grandmother's eyes widened.
"What?! Let me report that to the dean! That is forbidden for a reason even if you're a Wight!" Her grandmother exclaimed, so she tried so hard to stop her.
"It's alright grandma, that didn't happen because someone saved me!" She exclaimed as she started explaining more to her grandmother, the good thing is, she managed to calm her down from her anger.
"So someone saved you, huh? Who was it?" Her grandma curiously asked.
"O-Oh um, he's a cold boy named Azure, we're not friends, but I could tell that he was nice," She claimed as they started talking more about what happened at school during dinner.
After dinner, she washed the dishes and brushed her teeth before answering some of her assignments in her room.
She also wrote in her diary how fun that day was while playing with her pendant that was hanging on her neck.
"I'm looking forward to helping Armani and being with August and Alodia tomorrow," She whispered before removing her glasses, hugging her diary close to her while smiling.
