Chapter 5 Life Changer

Tessa stretched her legs across the bleacher seats while scrolling through her phone. The school forum had all sorts of posts and blogs and for a while Tessa hadn't scrolled through it. You could never get bored scrolling through the school forum. There were always all kinds of news.

News of a popular couple breaking p, some party truth or dare video, this and that, embarrassing teacher pictures used as memes and the rest, there was always something to see. Tessa burst into laughter upon seeing a meme of Mr Gordon. Of all the teachers he had to be the one with the most picture memes.

The man always wore a blank face which could be used in whatever way. His picture meme was spread across the school forum like ants. The school forum was only for the students and none of the teachers of even the principal could access it so the students always ran amok on the forum and acted as they liked.

Tessa sat up while turning to the boys playing basketball on the court. There were several girls in the bleachers giggling and whispering while watching the boys. Macpherson High School basketball team boys like the movies and books was the combination of every damn sexy and hot guy in Macpherson High.

Every single one of them was dead drop gorgeous and hot. Each of them had a fan base of girls who would die for them, even Blaine himself had a fan base that always sent him snacks and gifts. And in which, Tessa most of the times always ended up eating the chocolates bars and every other snack that Blaine left untouched.

"Tessa!' Blaine yelled and Tessa scrunched up her face as she grabbed her bag and walked down the bleachers towards the court. She flung Blaine a bottle of water as she sat down on the first seat offering a smile to the rest of the players.

"Are you done for today?" Tessa asked him and Blaine shook his head.

"We are having a friendly match with a school tomorrow" Blaine replied and Tessa nodded her head.

"Guess what?" Tessa said as Blaine cocked one of his eyebrows.

"You came late" Blaine replied and Tessa shrugged her shoulders.

"Something like that" Tessa replied and Blaine chuckled

"That's not the point" Tessa quickly added as Blaine slumped to the ground in front of her.

"So you want to tell me what the point is?" Blaine asked as Tessa swallowed her saliva.

"I don't know why or how but I got Fried Tyrell and Lola Coker to talk to me throughout P.E class" Tessa replied and she and Blaine stared at each other for a minute before Blaine chuckled.

"Right. You did" Blaine replied rolling his eyes. Seeing that he did not believe her, Tessa scoffed.

"Hey, they really did talk to me okay" Tessa said and Blaine nodded his head.

"Now Tessa O'Bailey explain to me why one of the most popular girls in Macpherson and not just one, two of them would engage you in a conversation?" Blaine asked and just before Tessa could reply, one of the basketballers walked up to Blaine holding his phone while glancing at Tessa.

"Hey, what kind of charm did you use this time?" he asked and Blaine furrowed his brows.

"Rey, what are you talking about?" Blaine asked as Rey turned his phone towards him showing two pictures of Lola, Frieda and Tessa talking during the P.E class.

"This. I want to ask your best friend she got those two gods to talk to her" Rey replied and Tessa folded her arms and arched her eyebrows at Blaine.

"You didn't believe me" Tessa said and Blaine chuckled.

"What the hell did you guys talk about?" Blaine asked and Tessa swallowed her saliva.

"Just small talk, here and there" Tessa replied and some of the boys burst into laughter.

"You don't want to tell us the truth" one of them said and Tessa tried to laugh shaking her head.

"We really didn't say anything" Tessa said trying to convince them.

"Hey, wanna come to my party tonight?" Rey asked and Tessa chuckled.

"Why?" Tessa asked with a sarcastic tone.

"You've never invited me to your party before and just because Frieda Tyrell and Lola Coker talk to me, I am suddenly invited?" Tessa asked and everyone looked around uncomfortably. Even Reynold swallowed his saliva and chuckled lightly.

"That's not what I meant though" Rey replied and Tessa nodded her head.

"Frieda, Lola and I aren't friends" Tessa said as she slipped her hands into her pockets.

"Who do you think you are?" Rey suddenly asked freezing Tessa in her steps.

"Excuse me?" Tessa turned to face him, a frown on her face.

"Did you really think I asked you to come to my party because of Frieda and Lola?" Rey asked before chuckling.

"They always come to my parties. Every single party I throw, as long as I invite them both; they would come. What does that have to do with me asking you to come to my party?" Rey asked again and Tessa found herself tongue tied. Rey didn't really have a reason to actually invite her to his party.

"Why did you invite me then?" Tessa asked and Rey shrugged his shoulders.

"Just because" Rey replied as Tessa scoffed.

"Just because? Are you kidding me right now?" Tessa asked and Rey laughed.

"Ya! Have you been to a party before? You are in your final year at high school, loosen up a bit and catch fun. College is all about books and books. if you don't have fun at this your age, you'll never be able to" Rey replied as Tessa swallowed her saliva.

"And stop treating yourself like an outcast. People want to talk to you and be your friend but that straight face of yours doesn't even allow anybody to talk to you" Rey added and the boys burst into laughter while Tessa stood on the stairs embarrassed.

"I'll be expecting you at my party tonight. Ask Blaine for directions if you don't know the way" Rey added as the boys burst into laughter again.

"Stop embarrassing her eishhh" Blaine said shooting up to his feet as the basketball boys burst into laughter again.

"If I didn't know you well, I'll think you have a crush on Tessa" one of the boys said and Blaine frowned chasing them away while turning to face Tessa.

"Are you okay?" Blaine asked hesitantly and Tessa chuckled staring at her sneakers while sighing softly.

"You know that Rey is right though" Blaine added and Tessa nodded.

"I know that he is so right that its annoying me. He barely knows and yet he was able to squeeze the parts of me that hurts the most" Tessa replied and Blaine chuckled.

"It's our final year Tessa, our very final year in high school" Blaine said while Tessa nodded.

"You know I agree with him. My life lacks lustre, lacks fun and the rest and everything an 18-year old teenager should have and I'm trying to change that but I don't know how to. I also want to have other friends apart from you, you practise so much these days that there is no one else to talk to but I don't know how to make friends without them thinking I'm trying to feel among or something" Tessa replied and Blaine chuckled.

"That's new" Blaine said and Tessa laughed.

"I know, it's a first and isn't working out too well" Tessa said.

"Try harder and I think you might not have to try so hard thanks to Frieda and Lola" Blaine said and they both burst into laughter.

"I really can't figure out why they both spoke to me today though" Tessa said.

"I wanted to squeeze into the circle and lo and behold I squeezed in between into mother fucking Lola Coker and Frieda Tyrell" Tessa added and Blaine laughed.

"I call it destiny" Blaine said as they both burst into laughter once again.

"Destiny my ass" Tessa replied laughing lightly as she sighed softly.

"So you coming to Rey's party?" Blaine asked and Tessa nodded her head.

"Yes" Tessa replied and Blaine smiled widely.

"That's good" Blaine replied before looking at Tessa weirdly.

"Don't come to the party dressed like this though" Blaine said and Tessa snickered at him.

"What's wrong with my dressing ehn?!" she asked snorting at him before storming out of the basketball court. She of course knew she couldn't dress like the way she always dressed. She wasn't that stupid.

The fun and enjoyment and vibe that Tessa wanted badly in her life, she indeed got it. But it was in form of a human being that Tessa would have never dreamed of or even imagined in the first place but that human changed her life forever.

And from the point that her life changed whenever Tessa thought about it months later, wasn't when she went for the party it was from the moment she squeezed in between Frieda Tyrell and Lola Coker.
