Chapter 7 Maria

~Windy~

I opened the letter and read what was in it.

"Dear Aunty Windy, thank you for everything you've done for me and my family. I will forever be grateful.

I don't know if you will read this or not but I'll still write it.

I'm sorry but I can't live in this world knowing that I'm now an orphan. I thought I was strong but I just realized that I'm not. I'm not strong at all.

I just can't do it I miss my family so much I'm not sure I can live without them.

The thought and fact of not having a family is very heartbreaking and I've gotten to the point where I can no longer bear it.

Thank you for the days I've spent with you. You're really a blessing".

Tears rolled down my cheeks as I read the letter. I had no idea on what to do.

I cried for a few minutes.

"What am I going to do? what... what... Maria noo I hope nothing bad has happened to you no" I stuttered as I spoke.

I rushed to my room to take my car keys, i ran straight to the garage to where my car was parked.

I drove my car out of the garage. And she doesn't have a phone. What am I going to do? How am I going to get a hold of her? I was so confused, as I was driving a lot of questions popped into my head I was really lost in thoughts.

"Heyyyyy can't you see!!" a woman yelled at me.

I didn't notice the traffic sign so I almost hit her thank goodness I stopped immediately she yelled.

"I'm so sorry" I apologized as I bowed my head.

I drove quickly to the nearest police station because that was all I could think of.

"Please I need to report something" I told an officer.

"My niece is missing, she dropped a suicide note and left. Till now I've not heard anything from her" I said with tears in my eyes.

"Wow this is a serious one, we'll see what we can do don't panic madam" the police officer tried to comfort me.

I could see the shock in his eyes after he heard me talk.

"Please just do your best in finding my niece" I said.

After I came back from the funeral that evening I ate little then took my bath.

I couldn't sleep at all, I was rolling on the bed.

My family came into my mind "I really miss them" I said as I thought about them.

I smiled for a while then I burst into tears.

" I can't live without them. I just can't, I've tried but it didn't work.

I'm so traumatized and very sad, how would I live without my mom.

I have to go".

I picked up a paper and wrote to my aunt, then I put it in an envelope and placed it on the table.

I woke up very early the next day. I took my bath and wore a t-shirt with a knicker.

I placed the letter on my bed and left.

I was so lucky because I didn't see anybody as I left the hotel.

I still had cash on me so I took a bus and left to the bridge.

I got to my destination and I came down from the bus.

I sat in front of the bridge and I stared at the sea for a few minutes.

I remember when me and coly had a fight we didn't talk to each other for almost a month we always ignored each other anytime we saw each other. It was really something.

I wore one of his favorite shirts to a friend's party and the shirt got ruined. He told me not to wear it but you know I'm pretty stubborn.

"Ria you wore my shirt after telling you not to and you ruined it then dumped it in my cupboard you're really one stupid person you know". He barged into my room with the shirt in his hands.

"Hey don't say that I'm still your senior" I snapped at him

"Well act like one because as far as I'm concerned you're not acting like one. You're really a pain in the ass" he ranted at me.

He kept on blabbing and blabbing and blabbing, he said so many harsh words to me before I could even apologize.

Well I didn't bother to apologize I just walked away as he talked and since that day I avoided him.

After weeks of not talking to each other our parents got tired of our beef and they both settled us. We had no choice but to talk again.

I smiled as I remembered the incident.

I thought about a lot of things too.

Some made me smile, laugh, while most of the memories made me cry.

I sat there for a few minutes crying.

"Have you heard anything yet?" I asked the officer in charge after some hours of searching for her.

"No, not yet" he answered me.

"Sorry to say, but you guys are not doing your job well" I irked the officer.

He stared at me without saying anything.

I guess he knew I was going through a lot at that moment.

After some minutes he got a call from one of the officers.

" I just received a call that your niece was spotted in a bus station".

The officer left the office and drove to the bus station. I went with him.

"Wow this traffic is so bad" I said.

"Yes I think a bus got spoiled on the road so we're going to be here for a while".

I shook my head and placed it on my lap.

After staying in the traffic for a few minutes the road finally became free and we quickly drove to the bus station.

" I think it's here," the officer said.

I walked up to a driver and asked him the destination of the bus. And lucky for us it had only one destination which they called the long bridge.

As soon as we heard we quickly drove to the place and when we got there we searched the whole place but she was nowhere to be found.

After staying there for some minutes staring at the sea I finally made a decision.

I stood up.

"Goodbye" I murmured as I jumped into the sea.
