Chapter 3 Three

PRESENT DAY *****

Genevieve slowly walk inside their house with her head lower.. She just sold herself few minutes ago to some unknown man!!

With her uncle, Genevieve has always led an average but happy life.. Ryan never let her understand the tough part of life till he get schemed by his enemies..

Genevieve now realised how cruel the world is and how hard it is to survive! She couldn't help but be grateful towards his uncle who never let her face any difficulties in life.. And now it's her turn to solve the mess for him..

Genevieve went inside her room and pick up the file left by Assistant Sheng from the desk.. She open it up and find few papers.. She did not see it at night.. Because she thought she would not gamble with her self respect..

But, thinking after the whole night Genevieve realised that's her only option and for the sake of her uncle she decided to go with the offer..

She start reading the clauses and try to understand them.. In short there are some rules and regulations of the marriage..

'Party B (Genevieve Brancacio) can not leave her husband at any cost for a year.. If she tried then has to give back the dowry provided by party A (Anthony Devonte) and also their best lawyers would put party B's (Genevieve Brancacio's) uncle in the jail again with strong accusations..'

Genevieve frowned in confusion, chewing on her lips.. "He want me to get married for a year! What does that even mean!?" She murmured to herself..

"It means you have one year to make him yours.." A sudden voice startled her and Genevieve turned back quickly to face the man..

It is Assistant Sheng.. He get inside seeing the door open and find her standing with the file in hand, murmuring to herself..

Assistant Sheng continued.. "Mr. Devonte thinks one year is enough.. If you still can't then you can walk out from this marriage and the things will be provided to you, we won't take it back as your compensation.. But, if you tried to get rid of this marriage before one year.. Then you have to pay back all the things.. Am I clear Miss Brancacio?"

Genevieve fell in more confusion with the condition.. She doesn't understand why it's too complicated! However, she has decided it already and now she can not step back..

She nodded her head "Yes.."

"Did you check the conditions carefully, Miss Brancacio?" He asked..

Genevieve again nodded..

"Good.. Did you sign it already?"

Genevieve watch the file again and shake her head slowly in negative "no, still didn't.. B..But you said you will give me proofs, where is it?" She just want to make sure he is not making a fool of her..

Assistant Sheng call someone from outside and two people get inside.. A man and a woman.. Both were looking very professional and dressed up professionally..

"They are the best lawyers in the country and will help you.. But to get this help you have to sign first miss Brancacio.." He bring out a pen from his pocket and held it to her..

Genevieve pursed her lips in fear and nervousness.. She take the pen slowly.. With a shivering hand she sign her name on the gap for party B..

Assistant Sheng take the file and pen back.. He turned to the other man and said "Start your work now.."

The man nodded his head a bit "yes sir.." And walk out of the house following by the woman..

Assistant Sheng bring out his phone from the pocket and dialled a number.. "Please transfer the amount in Miss Brancacio's account.." Saying he cut the call..

Genevieve is standing like a statue and watch him working in an unexpected flow.. After Assistant Sheng cut the call just a minute later by then her phone beeped with a text message..

She check it and gasped.. He was not kidding at all! Five million dollars literally transferred to her account! Genevieve gulped hard and look up at the rigid man in surprise.. "Th..the a..mount just transferr..ed.." Her voice came out like a whisper and it's trembling badly..

However, there is no change in Sheng An's expression.. He is same as blank like before.. "We have fulfilled our promise.. Now, it's your turn.."

Genevieve nodded.. "Okay.. What should I do now?"

"You have to come with me to your husband's place.. From today you will live there.." Assistant Sheng replied..

"Now!? C..can I meet my uncle first?"

Assistant Sheng watch his expensive wrist watch.. "I am sorry miss Brancacio.. We don't have time.. We have to catch flight for New York.. But, you can write a note for your uncle.."

Genevieve felt very sad and depress.. God knows what she has signed up herself for.. But, now she has no other choice but to follow the orders..

She pack up her necessary things under Assistant Sheng's order.. Because as per him she would get all the necessary things at her new house..

Genevieve write a note for her beloved uncle and stuck it on the fridge.. So that he could find it easily.. After locking the door well and keeping the key under mattress she followed Assistant Sheng with a deep sigh inside her heart..
