Chapter 5 One Minute Of Your Time

I look at Mason in disbelief, "Mason, somebody better be dead or fucking dying."

"Sorry, Hunter, but we have a, well, that man has, you know what?"

"No, I do not know what."

Only then do I realize that I am still firmly holding onto a very confused Raven's hand. Now, I do not think I wish to scare the girl to death with the shit that I get up to, well, not yet.

So with utter frustration, I turn to her, I was so goddamn close, and now I am the one that is going to do the running. "Princess," I watch as she raises that eyebrow but just the slightest of hint. "Raven, I am afraid that I need to go. Please tell me that I will see you again."

"Well, that is just something you have to wait and see. Now go do your Mafia business or whatever it is that Hunter King does."

"Princess," and as she cocks that little head, I can only but smile, but god, the inner chuckle is what scares the shit out of me the most.

With a brief kiss on her soft cheek that sends more tingles down my spine than anywhere else that it should, I make my leave from the table.

Not even before we are out the back door is give Mason a firm slap against the head, "Could you not have waited one damn minute. What has got your knickers in a knot?"

"Antoni has intercepted a shipment."

"Fuck, the man has balls, but why are you calling me for it?"

"Well, I could not particularly tell you that in front of the girl."

"So, you call me out into an alley to tell me this?"

I have the greatest desire to, at this very moment, to smash a hand that was so eager to touch Raven into his damn face. "Now, what do you expect me to do about it? Must I fucking do your job for you too now?"

"Hunter, I just thought..."

"No, that is where you are wrong; you did not think. Now, if I get back into that club and Raven is gone, then I am going to do more than just slap you against the head."

With that, I turn on my heels to head back into the club, but just as I am about to fling the door open, someone walks smack bang into my chest. Immediately the honey and hint of vanilla attack my senses. As I gently pull away, I look into those piercing brown eyes.

"Princess, what are you doing out here?"

"God, not you again. You like a damn...you are everywhere. I was trying to do the same thing as you, but it seems that you were only playing me for a fool. Next time you don't want to be in someone's company, just say it. Don't get your lapdog to pull you away."

She struggles with great protest to pull away from my grip; there is no way that I am letting her disappear down this alley...wait...

"Princess, why are you forever disappearing off into an alley?"

"It is so I don't run into creeps like you."

"You will find worse things than creeps out here. Please come back inside with me."

"What, so you can disappear in an hour again? Exactly what am I interrupting out here? You waiting for your next flavor for tonight?"

"Come on, that is not fair; you know that I want to be with you."

She only but grunts as she tries to break free. Does this girl not know that I am not letting her go anywhere.

But much to my even further frustration, a goddamn smirk ass face Mason is still standing and watching me, "Go sort your shit out."

With that, I am once again left with my beauty in the last place I ever want her to be. Then finally, I let go of her and step one step back so my gaze can meet her eyes.

All I wish is to reach out and touch her again; I want to run my finger over those soft lips. To think that I was so close to them just now, so close that our bodies nearly melted into one. Here is this girl that has taken away all my senses. I know that what I am feeling for her should be wrong, but right now, wrong surely feels so good.

"So," I push my hands into my pockets. I look down at my feet and go all damn fucking soft. I can barely look her in the eyes. I have never had a woman that made me felt this way, yet this feeling, I want more of it. "So, princess, will you please..."

"You had your chance Mr. King; you blew it by running away."

"I did not run; I just had things; well, there are things that need my attention sometimes."

"I don't know what shit you are into, Hunter, but somehow I feel it is not the same kind that I should get involved..."

I interrupt her; I know that it utterly frustrates her, but watching how she bites into that lips when I do, is worth every moment of the anticipation of being slapped.

"Please, please," I stumble on my words, not knowing what else I can say to convince her, "Please can you come back inside."

"Sorry, Hunter. I..."

I interrupt her once more, "You really don't have to stay long. Just for a short while still. I just..."

She steps a slight bit forward and gently reaches out to touch my hand. A million sensations shock me to my core. Even though she is cold, her hands are as soft as feathers. Then she takes my ring and twists it around my finger.

"What I am trying to say is, I don't think it is a good idea for a girl like me to get involved with a man like you."

Her eyes seem sincere as she looks at me with a concern that could pierce me deep within my soul. She has not yet let go of my hand; I feel as she gently squeezes my palm. The comfort brings a smile to my face, and she immediately lets go. Her finger drags softly down my forearm, leaving tingles on my skin. I must fight every ounce of me not to grab hold of her hand once again.'

I manage to hook my fingers into hers again; she looks at me shyly but does not let go. The desire to feel her skin touch mine in any way is the only thought that plays through my mind.

I move a slight step closer to her. She wants to move away, but she seems not to either. She notices the amusement in my eyes. Then I find my hand wandering to her lips. They are the only thing that I have been craving to touch the whole night. As I run my thumb across them, I can feel her slightly tremble, "Are you sure you do not want to come inside?"

I step even closer and closer, close enough to feel her warmth radiate from her skin. All I need to do is lean in, but an inch and mine would lay softly against her. But mine is trembling too goddamn much, and there is nothing I want more than ours to tremble together.

She immediately notices that she has been staring at my lips for but a fraction too long; I can feel that tingling in my spine shoot straight down to my core. Every desire I have in my body wants to pin her against that wall. This is nothing I crave more than for my hand to explore that body. But yet, I need to compose myself with restraint. This is not a girl that is going to give in so easily.

As we finally break our gaze, I softly lean forwards and whispers in her ear.

"Princess, only one more minute."

"You have had an hour already."

With that, she pushes past me and walks off into the alley...
