Chapter 6 Blind

At first, Jeff was a peacemaker, but after a month, he often used the excuse of being busy with the company affairs and rarely went home.

Jessica didn't take good care of her daughter-in-law at all, but blamed her harshly. Every time when Cindy was out, she would think that she was dating with men.

Considering Jessica was her mother-in-law, Cindy didn't make a fuss about it. However, her concession only made her worse.

It was not until Cindy saw Jeff's infidelity that the relationship between the two of them became icy cold.

"Auntie, it's okay. You can live here from now on. My day is actually a good man despite his cold face."

After listening to Cindy's story, Angela wiped her tears and said.

Cindy was amused by Angela's words. She stopped crying and thought for a while. It was all water under the bridge. Since it was no use regretting the past, Cindy stopped thinking about it which would only make her sad.

When Cindy was about to say something to Angela, her phone rang.

Taking a look at the phone number, she found that it was from Jeff. She didn't know why he called, but she still apologized to Angela and walked out to answer the phone.

"You bitch, you really betrayed me. Are you going to divorce me? Okay, I agree, but I won't give you any money.

This is the price of your betrayal. "

After saying that, the phone was hung up before Cindy could say anything.

This was the man she had loved for six years. Sure enough, she had been unaware of his nature.

Cindy didn't want his money at first, but when he said it flatly, she felt very uncomfortable.

After saying that, she went back to the bedroom of Angela.

Looking at Angela, Cindy was moved by the little child. She gently stroked her hair and said softly, "Angela, thank you!"

"Auntie, go to bed and have some rest!"

"I'll put you to bed first. Then I'll go to sleep." Although Cindy was grateful to Angela, she also knew that she was here to be a nanny. Bruce had made it clear that her duty was to take care of Angela, and she had to do her job.

Angela nodded obediently, "No problem. I'll go to sleep."

Cindy took Angela back to her room and helped her wash up. Seeing to it that Angela was sleeping on her small bed, Cindy said good night to her and was about to leave.

Before she reached the door, Angela called her again, "Auntie, if there is any bad guy pestering you or treating you badly, just tell me. I will ask my dad to beat them. He's the best, and no one is his opponent."

With the help of the light at the bedside, Cindy was amused to see her innocent but determined face. Of course, she was also moved. She nodded and said, "Okay, I know. Angela, close your eyes. Have a good dream!"

Angela showed her two white teeth and replied with a smile, "Auntie, you should go to bed early too. Have a good dream!" After saying that, Angela closed her eyes while holding her doll tightly in her arms.

Looking at Angela, the smile at the corners of Cindy's mouth gradually disappeared. She only did a small favor but Angela liked her so much. To return her gratitude, she should take good care of Angela and express her gratitude.

Of course, the sadness in her heart was getting bigger and bigger. A child treated her well because of such a little thing. But what about Jeff? She had devoted all her life to him even at the cost of her future.

Cindy felt that she had been so foolish that she had trusted him all the time. She made such a bad choice. In comparison, it was better to be with the boy who bought food and water for her every day. Although he was a jerk, at least he wasn't a hypocrite like Jeff.

Thinking of the part-time jobs she had done and the fact that she had been forced to leave the campus, there was hatred in her eyes. She regretted that she had sent an umbrella back to him. Why was she attracted by his good looks and good manners at the beginning? Why did she still trust him at the airport after being humiliated by him in the hospital?

As the door was closed, Cindy shook her head, trying to get rid of these thoughts and throw the unfaithful man out of her mind.

Cindy closed her eyes and when she opened them again, she was stunned. "Bruce!"

Bruce, the owner of the house, was only five steps away from her.

"Angela is asleep?"

"Yes."

"Was she naughty?"

"No, she is very obedient!"

"Okay!" As soon as she finished her words, Bruce walked towards the door, so she quickly dodged. Seeing that he put his hand on the door knob, she reminded him, "Angela just fell asleep. You'd better go to see her after a while!"

However, Bruce wasn't listening. He turned the door knob and opened the door. When he pushed the door open, he turned his head and answered, "Every day, I will kiss her good night before she goes to bed. Only in this way can she sleep soundly!"

After saying that, the door was closed. Cindy was standing outside the door and imagining what Bruce was doing. In order to avoid embarrassment, she left as soon as possible. She had thought that Bruce didn't believe her just now. She was really affected by Jeff's narrow-mindedness.

In the room, hearing the sound at the door, Angela woke up to find Bruce was standing before her. She blinked happily and called him in a sweet voice, "Daddy!"

Bruce's tone was gentle. He half squatted beside her bed and gently kissed her head. "Good girl, are you good today? Are you happy?"

"Auntie was staying with me. I'm very happy today. Daddy, please let Auntie stay with me from now on, okay?"

Bruce didn't know how Cindy did it. In the past, he had hired so many nannies, and even though he was satisfied with each of them, Angela was dissatisfied. Every night he asked Angela if she was happy with the nanny, she only answered "Fine." unlike tonight's answer "Very happy." Today was really an exception.

Seeing that Bruce didn't answer, Angela thought that Bruce didn't agree. Angela pouted and acted like a spoiled child, "Dad, aunt is a good person. She is the only one who really loves Angela. Unlike those aunts, every time she is together with me, she will always ask me questions, or teach me something."

"I really like this aunt. Of course I want her to stay. But whether she is willing to stay here all the time, I can't promise you because I can't force her, so Angela must be a good girl."

"I know, daddy. I won't be naughty."

After saying that, Bruce stroked Angela's hair. Angela looked like a very obedient little princess, but Bruce knew that her nature was somewhat self-willed. When she found that they came here to be her stepmother, she told them to leave.

Angela nodded obediently, "Good night, Dad!"

Bruce looked at Angela, who was holding a doll in her arms. He had never been happier than this moment, and a heartfelt smile appeared on his face.
