"What the fuck, Lucas? You actually hit me for this woman?" Lucas stood there, his knuckles pale as he was still clenching his fist from the strike.
Upon hearing those words, Lucas swallowed hard and said, his voice carried a hint of urgency, "I'm doing this for your own good! She..."
"For my own good?" Liam scrambled up from the ground.
Ignoring the wound on Lucas' arm, he grabbed Lucas by the collar, glaring at Lucas fiercely. "You side with an outsider and hit me, and you dare say it's for my good? You're nothing but a coward, Lucas!"
As he scolded, he swung his fist at Lucas.
But Lucas, far stronger, sidestepped and caught Liam's wrist in a quick motion.
With a swift push, Lucas pinned Liam to the ground again with his knee pressing into Liam's back to immobilize him.
"Calm down!" Lucas' voice was tinged with weariness. "We can't win against her!"
At that moment, Vivian stumbled in and rushed over, seeing her boyfriend pinned down.
She tried to push Lucas away. She yell with a piercing voice, "Are you crazy, Lucas? Why are you doing this to him? Is this because I slept with him yesterday? Is this your way of getting back at us?"
As Lucas' body stiffened, he eased his knee off Liam's back slightly.
I saw the fleeting pain in his eyes.
Turned out my pet had feelings for Vivian.
As Lucas' gaze turned numb, he released Liam.
He allowed Vivian to help Liam up and support him toward the door.
As I watched them retreating, I spoke slowly. "It seems your good intentions look like ridiculous revenge to her."
Lucas halted abruptly and spun around with fury in his eyes.
He glared at me as if wanting to devour me.
Unfazed, I walked forward to him step by step. Then I stamped on his shoulder, and even pressed down on it.
Watching his brow furrowed in pain, I said with an icy voice. "You shouldn't resent me. If you want to hate someone, hate your selfish brother, Liam. He's the one who stole your opportunity and used you. Now he's left you humiliated in front of the one you care about."
I pulled the small camera from my pocket, its screen still showing the humiliating scenes of Lucas from that night.
I held it out to him, and said with temptation in my voice, "What's in here is enough to ruin your brother. If you destroy him and expose the evidence of Vivian's collusion with him, where else could she go but back to you?"
I paused, watching the struggle in his eyes, and continued, "It's a win-win deal, if you have the courage to go through with it."
Lucas' gaze was locked on the camera and his fingers were trembling slightly.
Eventually, he reached out to take it.
But just as he grasped the camera, he suddenly looked up with a fierce glint in his eyes.
He swung his fist towards my face.
