Chapter 4

Rosalyn froze.

To defend Norene, Saul had called her the other woman?

Sure, in love, the one who wasn't loved was the real outsider.

Norene threw herself into Saul's arms, sobbing dramatically. "Saul, I was forced to marry and leave the country back then. You're married to Rosalyn now. I shouldn't have come back to disturb your marriage. I'm not some saint, but I refuse to be labeled a homewrecker. I'll pack my things and leave so I'm not in your way."

Before she could step out of his embrace, Saul held her tightly, his voice soft. "You were never the other woman."

He turned to Rosalyn. "I want you to apologize to Norene. Do it, Rosalyn!"

Her mind buzzed.

They were the ones in the wrong, yet she was expected to apologize.

Thinking of the seven years she had loved him, Rosalyn felt she had wasted it all on a dog.

Her eyes red, she spoke firmly. "I did nothing wrong. I won't apologize! If she's bold enough to be a homewrecker, she shouldn't care what people say!"

Before her words settled, Saul instinctively raised his hand and slapped her.

Even without full force, blood trickled from the corner of Rosalyn's mouth.

Shock filled her eyes, followed by endless disappointment.

She had never been hit in her life. This was the first time.

And it came from Saul.

Their gazes locked. A flicker of guilt crossed Saul's eyes, but he quickly regained composure. "You brought this on yourself."

Rosalyn's eyes burned red as she laughed bitterly. "You're right. I brought this on myself. Saul, I regret it. If I had another chance, I'd never fall for you!"

Saul's chest tightened, an uncomfortable pang hitting him.

But his face showed only disdain. "Rosalyn, you're unreasonable."

With that, he took Norene's hand and left the bedroom.

That night, Rosalyn sat on the floor and cried until dawn.

She told herself this was the last time.

The next morning, as the sky barely brightened, Saul stormed in, furious.

He grabbed Rosalyn's arm tightly, his eyes dark with anger. "Why can't you leave Norene alone? Do you need her completely ruined to be satisfied?"

Rosalyn, who hadn't slept all night, felt dazed. She pried his hand off. "What are you talking about? I don't understand."

Saul opened his phone. Headlines about Norene flooded the news.

They called her a remarried woman who returned to seduce her best friend's husband.

Some even claimed her private life abroad was a mess.

The comment sections were filled with vicious attacks, cursing Norene's entire family, some even photoshopping her obituary.

Rosalyn's head throbbed painfully. "I didn't do this."

Saul scoffed and pulled up more evidence. "I checked. The IP address of the post came from this villa. Who else in this house would target her like this?"

Rosalyn bit her lip hard.

Seven years of love, and he judged her guilty based on an IP address alone.

"I stand by what I do. If it was me, I'd admit it. If it wasn't, no one's pinning this on me."

Saul's eyes were icy. "So you won't admit it. Fine. Don't regret this."

At the time, Rosalyn didn't grasp what he meant.

Not until that afternoon, when her own scandals dominated every social media platform, did his words sink in.

To cover up Norene's mess, Saul had leaked Rosalyn's private photos online.

Her outspoken personality was twisted out of context in clipped videos.

The mob that had cursed Norene in the morning turned on Rosalyn by afternoon, their attacks even harsher.

Worse, Saul had posted her surgical record for the virginity restoration procedure.

Rosalyn's public image was that of a bold heiress. The surgery record sparked wild speculation.

Someone even started an auction for her "next first night."

The hate was overwhelming, the scandal massive. Norene's drama was quickly forgotten.

Staring at the flood of messages, Rosalyn couldn't cry anymore.

When disappointment reached its peak, tears dried up.

Her phone buzzed incessantly through the night.

Her number had been sold. Creeps called nonstop, asking if she was available.

Once proud and untouchable, Rosalyn had become a pariah.

Everyone turned against her.

Rosalyn swore to herself, "Saul, congratulations. Your revenge worked.

But you and I? We're done for good."
