Chapter 6 Letter Of Dismissal

Eleanora pov

"What do you mean, Ferdinand? You want me to sign a divorce paper after making me believe everything will be okay?" I asked with an unbelievable gaze, my eyes welling up with tears. I could feel it sinking into its socket.

"I'm not gonna repeat myself again. I want you to sign the f**king goddamn divorce papers, or I will rip your hair off from your skull!" Nathan threatened, with a sudden turn to face me, staring at me with a furious gaze, his brow was so farrowned that could be compared to a lion roaring.

"But we just got married," I tried to protest, but it was futile. My fingers dug into my palms as I felt the wave of anger, despair clouding my mind like a storm.

Furious, I walked to the desk and signed the divorce papers. "It was never at my free will. I agreed in marrying you after you cheated that night. I hate you, Ferdinand! I hate you!" I yelled to his face, with a slight of my saliva splitting on his face, then turned my back to walk away. His hands suddenly gripped mine, thinking he had come to his senses and would like to apologize, which I wouldn't even listen to, but instead split a word that pierced my heart the most.

"Get lost and never return to my house, you harlot!" My mind shattered hearing this piercing words. Harlot... I wondered if he was the harlot or me. Before I knew it, tears began gushing out from my eyes uncontrollably. I yanked my hands off from his grip, went to my closet, packed up my jewelry and clothes.

"Make sure you don't leave anything behind," he added, watching me pack up my things. I remained quiet, with eyes filled with tears as I kept parking up my things.

As soon as I was done packing up, I went out the door, got into my car, and exited the building. I couldn't go to my mother directly; it would be shameful, and it was all my fault. I should have told her what had been going on. At least it wouldn't have ended up this heartbreakingly brutal.

I drove to a nearby hotel where I lodged for the night until the next morning. I had no choice but to go back to my mother and explain what had happened. My mother lived in the next town, just fifteen miles away from the city.

After a few hours, I got there, due to some road traffic. I parked my car in the garage and went through the front door. "Ooh, my dear! You didn't tell me you were coming," my mum exclaimed in joy as she saw me. I quickly ran to her and hugged her, then started shedding tears.

"What's the problem, Eleanora? Why are you crying?" my mum asked curiously while cleaning the tears from my eyes.

"It's nothing, mom," I replied, trying to hide words, even though the purpose of me coming over was just to talk to her about the predicament.

"Come, have a seat. I'll get something for you to eat," my mum coaxed gently before walking away. I sat on the couch, wondering how exactly I could relate the situation to her. My head hurt, and my eyes grew heavier. My fingers kept intertwining to it self, and my body trembled with shock, disbelief, and anything that could relate to the pain of betrayal.

Some minutes later, my mum returned with one of my favorite Italian dishes, spaghetti Bolognese. "Try to eat something, okay? Luckily, I was able to sense your coming, so I prepared your favorite."

"Ooh, Mom, thanks so much," I appreciated with a grin.

"So, Eleanora, what's really the problem? I noticed something was wrong but wasn't sure what exactly." My mum asked with curiosity, like a puppy wanting to know what its owner is about to give her. She held my hands and coaxed it gently, "Talk to me, my love."

"I signed a divorce papers with Ferdinand," I broke the news. An eerie silence struck the room. My mum's eyes widened in disbelief. She couldn't grasp what I exactly meant. I could see a look of disappointment on her face. I felt disgrace and couldn't bear it.

After some seconds, my mom's face suddenly returned with a smile. "Eleanora, you are a strong lady. Don't let anything break you," she advised with a warm smile.

"But mum, aren't you angry with me?" I asked curiously.

"No, I'm not," she replied. "What matters to me now is your happiness, nothing else. You are my only daughter, and my most precious, valuable asset."

My mum's sweet words filled my heart. I felt a sudden relief. If love had turned its back on me, at least a mother's love would never do the same.

The next day, waking up, I quickly got myself prepared for work. My leave had expired, so I had to resume back to work. After greeting my mum, I got in my car and returned to the city.

Some minutes later, I arrived at the organization where I worked as a cashier. Upon reaching my office, I saw my boss standing right in front of my office door, holding an envelope in his hands.

"Take this," he urged with a glare.

I collected the letter from his hands, staring at it weirdly.

"Open it," he instructed.

I raised my head to look at him before looking back at the envelope in my hands. I pulled out the letter, only to see the shock of my life: "You have been sacked."

My eyes widened, my heartbeat became more intense, and my hands trembled with the envelope. "You have an hour to pack your belongings from the building and exit this building, or I will be forced to pull you out using security," my boss muttered, then walked away.
